‘Euphoria’ Series Premiere Date and Teaser Trailer Starring Zendaya

HBO’s set a June 16, 2019 premiere date for the coming of age series, Euphoria, starring Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Spider-Man: Homecoming). The network’s premiere date announcement was accompanied by a short teaser trailer revealing the series’ dark tone.

Euphoria season one will consist of eight episodes. HBO’s given the drama a Sundays at 10pm ET/PT time slot.

In addition to Zendaya, the cast includes Maude Apatow (daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann), Angus Cloud, Eric Dane (The Last Ship), Alexa Demie (The OA), Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth), Barbie Ferreira, Nika King (Greenleaf), Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time), Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith (The Hate U Give) and Sydney Sweeney (The Handmaid’s Tale).

Sam Levinson (Assassination Nation, The Wizard of Lies) created the series and wrote season one. Levinson also served as an executive producer along with Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady, Gary Lennon and Jim Kleverweis.

The HBO and A24 production is based on the Israeli series created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin.

According to HBO, the series follows “a group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma and social media.”
