FX is launching Ryan Murphy’s horror drama Grotesquerie on September 25, 2024. The new 10-episode season will air on FX on Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT, and will stream on Hulu on Thursdays.
“In FX’s Grotesquerie, a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan, a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good,” reads FX’s synopsis. “Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”
Niecy Nash-Betts, Emmy winner for her performance in Murphy’s Monster, stars as Detective Lois Tryon. Two-time Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance plays Marshall Tryon and Oscar nominee Lesley Manville is Nurse Redd. The horror series also stars Tony Award nominee Micaela Diamond as Sister Megan, Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Father Charlie, and Raven Goodwin as Merritt Tryon.
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chief’s three-time Super Bowl Champion tight end Travis Kelce, shows off his acting chops in Murphy’s new series.
Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken created the series and serve as writes and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B Vance, Max Winkler, Alexis Martin Woodall, Peter Liguori, Nissa Diederich, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. Murphy, Winkler, Woodall, and Elegance Bratton direct season one.
