Halo Season 2
Filming begins on Paramount+’s ‘Halo’ season 2

Season two of Paramount+’s sci-fi series Halo has started production in Iceland with two new cast members on board as season two regulars. Season two’s added Joseph Morgan (The Originals, Vampire Diaries) and Cristina Rodlo (No One Gets Out of Here Alive) to the cast that’s led by Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) as Master Chief and Natascha McElhone (Californication) as Dr. Halsey.

Paramount+ released the following description of the upcoming season and who Morgan and Rodlo will be playing, along with details on returning cast members Fiona O’Shaughnessy and Tylan Bailey who’ve been upped to series regulars:

“The series takes place in the universe that first debuted in 2001 with the launch of Xbox®’s first ‘Halo’ game. Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series weaves deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future.

Joseph Morgan joins the series as James Ackerson, a formidable intelligence operative who has spent his career climbing the ranks of the UNSC’s secretive Office of Naval Intelligence. Cristina Rodlo is Talia Perez, a corporal specializing in linguistics for a UNSC Marine Corp communications unit and a relatively new recruit who has yet to see any real combat.

Returning from season one, Laera (O’Shaughnessy) is Soren’s confidant, wife, and partner in crime. Soren and Laera’s son, Kessler (Bailey), has had a relatively peaceful, if unusual, childhood growing up on the Rubble.”

The season two cast also includes Jen Taylor as Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, Natasha Culzac as Riz-028, Olive Gray as Dr. Miranda Keyes, Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha, Bentley Kalu as Vannak-134, Kate Kennedy as Kai-125, Charlie Murphy as Makee, and Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes.

David Wiener (Brave New World) is the showrunner and executive produces along with Amblin Television’s Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey. 343 Industries’ Kiki Wolfkill, Frank O’Connor, and Bonnie Ross also executive produce alongside One Big Pictures’ Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie. Series stars Pablo Schreiber and Natascha McElhone are season two producers.

Paramount+’s start of production announcement did not include an expected premiere date for season two.
