HBO’s second Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone teaser reveals new scenes, including a few sneak peeks at the sorting hat, snippets of Snape and Draco Malfoy, and Hermione commenting on the fact no one but her reads. The eight-episode season premieres on December 25, 2026.
Dominic McLaughlin stars as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton is Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout is Ron Weasley, John Lithgow is Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer is Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu is Severus Snape, Nick Frost is Rubeus Hagrid, and Rory Wilmot is Neville Longbottom. Lox Pratt plays Draco Malfoy, Leo Earley is Seamus Finnigan, Elijah Oshin is Dean Thomas, Tristan Harland is Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland is George Weasley, Ruari Spooner is Percy Weasley, and Alessia Leoni is Parvati Patil.
The massive cast includes Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, William Nash as Gregory Goyle, Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick, and Sirine Saba as Pomona Sprout. Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley. Rounding out the cast are Richard Durden as Cuthbert Binns, Louise Brealey as Rolanda Hooch, Bríd Brennan as Poppy Pomfrey, Leigh Gill as Griphook, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

The series is based on J.K. Rowling’s bestselling book series, and Rowling is involved as an executive producer. Francesca Gardiner adapted Rowling’s first novel and executive produces alongside Heyday Films’ David Heyman and Brontë Film and TV’s Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts. Mark Mylod directed multiple episodes and executive produces.
