Showtime’s award-winning dramatic series Homeland has just unveiled the full official trailer for the upcoming seventh season. The series, which was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, is set to kick off season seven on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT.
The series’ cast is led by Emmy, Screen Actors Guild, and Golden Globe winner Claire Danes. Homeland‘s series regulars include Mandy Patinkin, Elizabeth Marvel, Linus Roache, Maury Sterling, and Jake Weber. Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire) joins the cast for season seven.
Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon executive produce along with Chip Johannessen, Lesli Linka Glatter, Patrick Harbinson, Claire Danes, Michael Klick, Ron Nyswaner, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir, and Ran Telem. Showtime says filming is currently underway on the upcoming season in Richmond, Virginia.
The Season 7 Plot: At the end of last season, following an assassination attempt on her life, President Keane (Marvel) broke her promise to Carrie (Danes) by arresting 200 members of the intelligence community without bringing charges against them, including Saul Berenson (Patinkin). As season seven begins, Carrie has left her job in the White House and moved back to D.C. and is living with her sister Maggie (Amy Hargreaves) to take on the Keane administration and secure the release of the 200.
A Look Back at Season 6: After she thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, season six picks up several months later and finds Carrie Mathison (Danes) living in Brooklyn, New York. She has begun working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the U.S. Season six will tackle the after effects of the U.S. presidential election, with the entire season taking place between election day and the inauguration. It’s a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect.
