‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Preview: Trailers, Cast, Photos and Premiere Date

HBO’s confirmed a June 16, 2024 premiere date for House of the Dragon season two and released the first-ever “dueling” trailers. Viewers are asked to choose a side in the war between House Targaryen (#TeamBlack) and House Hightower (#TeamGreen), and then watch the trailer dedicated to their chosen allegiance.

“Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story,” reads HBO’s press release. “For global audiences, ‘All Must Choose’ their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two.”

New episodes of the eight-episode second season will debut on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.

Returning season two stars include Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen, and Steve Toussaint as Lord Coryls Velaryon. Fabien Frankel plays Ser Criston Cole, Ewan Mitchell is Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney is Aegon Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno is Mysaria, and Rhys Ifans is Otto Hightower.

Additional returning cast includes Harry Collett as Jacaerys Velaryon, Bethany Antonia as Baela Targaryen, Phoebe Campbell as Rhaena Targaryen, Phia Saban as Helaena Targaryen, Jefferson Hall as Lord Jason Lannister, and Matthew Needham as Larys Strong.

Martin are Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, and Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome.
