Lioness‘ Michael Kelly has joined the cast of Landman for the upcoming third season. Kelly joins as a series regular playing William Crockett. Per Paramount+, Crockett is “the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world. He is a titan of industry and everything about him exudes efficiency and money.”
Kelly’s recent credits include The Penguin, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Time of Death, and Night Always Comes.
Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton stars as Tommy Norris, Oscar nominee Demi Moore plays Cami Miller, Oscar nominee Andy Garcia is Gallino, Ali Larter is Angela Norris, and Oscar nominee Sam Elliott is T.L. Pops Norris. Rounding out the ensemble are Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris, Paulina Chávez as Ariana Medina, Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone, Mark Collie as Sheriff Joeberg, James Jordan as Dale Bradley, and Colm Feore as Nathan.
“Landman is a modern tale of fortune seeking amongst roughnecks and wildcat billionaires – fueling an oil boom so big it’s reshaping the climate, the economy, and geopolitics,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis.
The streamer hasn’t released details on the season three plot. Season two’s description reads, “As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.”
Landman was created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. Sheridan, Wallace, Billy Bob Thornton, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay executive produce.
