‘Long Bright River’ Trailer: Amanda Seyfried Stars in Peacock’s Limited Series

Amanda Seyfried stars as a cop dedicated to protecting her old neighborhood and finding her missing sister in Long Bright River. Peacock just unveiled the limited series’ official trailer ahead of its Thursday, March 13, 2025 release of all eight episodes.

Long Bright River is a suspense thriller series that tells the story of Mickey (Seyfried), a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis,” reads Peacock’s synopsis. “When a series of murders begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case.”

Seyfried stars and serves as an executive producer in the series adaptation of Liz Moore’s bestselling novel. The cast also includes Nicholas Pinnock, Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson, and John Doman. Dash Mihok, Britne Oldford, Matthew Del Negro, Harriet Sansom Harris, Patch Darragh, and Perry Mattfeld are recurring guest stars.

Nikki Toscano co-created the series, writes, directs, executive produces, and serves as showrunner. Author and co-creator Liz Moore is also involved as a writer and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Amanda Lewis, Amy Pascal, and Russell Rothberg. Hagar Ben-Asher directs and executive produces.

“Strap yourself in – ‘cause this is Amanda like you’ve never seen her before – flawed and raw, tarred by guilt and shame and legacy, but never more compelling,” says Toscano. “She puts every ounce of her soul onto the screen and her performance will break your heart. In fact, all of our cast’s performances – Nicholas, Ashleigh, Callum, and John, among so many others – will grab a hold of you and never let go.”
