Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season two welcomes eight just-announced recurring cast members. Oliver Alvin-Wilson (The Bay), Stuart Bowman (The Pact), Gavi Singh Chera (The Undeclared War), William Chubb (Vampire Academy), Kevin Eldon (Game of Thrones), Will Keen (His Dark Materials), Selina Lo (Boss Level), and Calam Lynch (Bridgerton) have entered the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth.

The casting announcement comes just a week after the epic fantasy series added recurring season two cast members Ben Daniels, Nia Towle, Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen “Zates” Atour, Amelia Kenworthy, and Nicholas Woodeson. Sam Hazeldine was also announced as taking over the role of Orc leader Adar in the upcoming season after Joseph Mawle (Benjen Stark in Game of Thrones) played the character in the first season.

Prime Video did not confirm what characters the new recurring cast members will be playing.

Season two is currently in production in the UK with J.D Payne and Patrick McKay returning as showrunners and executive producers. Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, and Gennifer Hutchison also serve as executive producers, and Kate Hazell and Helen Shang produce.

The Plot, Courtesy of Prime Video:

The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.
