“Bueller.” “Bueller.” Yes, Matthew Broderick will be back in full Ferris Bueller mode starring in a commercial for the 2012 Honda CR-V which is set to air during the fourth-quarter of the Super Bowl. The commercial, titled “Matthew’s Day Off,” was directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover 1 and 2, Due Date) and finds Broderick playing himself while “drawing on his well-known coming-of-age character that the CR-V target audience grew up watching.”

Watch the commercial carefully and you’ll find dozens of Easter Eggs referencing Ferris Bueller’s Day Off including an iconic vest from the film (visible briefly in a department store window).

“Our primary goal is to support the launch of the all-new CR-V, a pillar vehicle in the Honda lineup, while representing the inherent fun and youthfulness of the Honda brand,” stated Tom Peyton, Honda brand manager, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
