Alexander Skarsgård stars as a “self-hacking security construct” in Apple TV+’s new sci-fi comedy Murderbot. The series will premiere on May 16, 2025 with an episode titled “FreeCommerce,” and the above clip shows Skarsgård’s character figuring out what to call itself.
Episodes one and two stream on May 16th, followed by new episodes of the 10 episode season every Friday.
Joining Alexander Skarsgård for season one are Noma Dumezweni (Presumed Innocent), David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer), Sabrina Wu (Joy Ride), Akshay Khanna (Critical Incident), Tattiawna Jones (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Tamara Podemski (Outer Range). Skarsgård also executive produces along with series creators Chris and Paul Weitz. The Weitz brothers wrote and directed the first season, with Andrew Miano, Keith Levine, and David S. Goyer serving as executive producers. Author Martha Wells is a consulting producer.
