‘Seeing Allred’ Debuts a Trailer and Poster with Gloria Allred

Netflix has released the official trailer and poster for the documentary film, Seeing Allred. The documentary examines the life and career of attorney Gloria Allred, delving into her decades-long fight to help women obtain justice. Allred is the founder and president of the Women’s Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund (WERLDEF) and her firm, Allred, Maroko & Goldberg, is respected for working on behalf of victims of sexual assault, rape, and child sexual abuse, as well as battered women cases.

Gloria Allred’s awards include the President’s Award from the National Association of Women Lawyers, the President’s Award for Outstanding Volunteerism, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from The National Trial Lawyers “for her trailblazing role in combating injustice and winning new rights, especially for women and minorities.” Allred’s also been nominated for three Emmys for her appearances on KABC television in Los Angeles.

Sophie Sartain (Mimi and Dona) and Roberta Grossman (Above and Beyond) directed the documentary which features interviews with Gloria Steinem, Don Lemon, Alan Dershowitz, and Gloria Allred’s daughter, Lisa Bloom. Seeing Allred was produced by Roberta Grossman, Sophie Sartain, Marta Kauffman (co-creator of Friends and Grace & Frankie), Robbie Rowe Tollin (The Zookeeper’s Wife), and Hannah KS Canter (Grace & Frankie).

Seeing Allred will screen at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival followed by its debut on Netflix on February 9, 2018.

Through rare archival footage and revealing interviews with both her supporters and critics, this fascinating biographical portrait examines Gloria Allred’s personal trauma and assesses both her wins and setbacks on high-profile cases against Bill Cosby and Donald Trump.
