First Look: ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ Teaser Trailer with Zoe Saldana

Prolific series creator Taylor Sheridan expands his Paramount+ universe with Special Ops: Lioness starring Zoe Saldaña and inspired by a real U.S. military program. The teaser trailer reveals the tone of Sheridan’s latest drama and introduces the spy thriller’s key players.

In addition to Zoe Saldaña, the season stars Laysla De Oliveira, Emmy nominee Michael Kelly, Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman. Dave Annable (Sheridan’s Yellowstone), LaMonica Garrett (Sheridan’s 1883), Jill Wagner, James Jordan (Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown), Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, and Hannah Love Lanier also star.

Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Taylor Sheridan, Jill Wagner, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone, and John Hillcoat serve as executive producers. The series is an MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios production.

Special Ops: Lioness is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

The Plot:

Special Ops: Lionessfollows the life of Joe (Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA's spear in the war on terror. The Lioness Program, overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Kelly), enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz (De Oliveira) to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the CIA's efforts to thwart the next 9/11.

Jill Wagner plays Bobby, a CIA Special Activities Division operative; Dave Annable is Neil, Joe’s husband and the father of their two daughters; LaMonica Garrett and James Jordan a reTucker and Two Cups, respectively, both experienced CIA Special Activities Division operatives on Joe’s team; Austin Hébert is Randy, a tech specialist in charge of surveillance; Hannah Love Lanier plays Kate, Joe and Neil’s daughter; Stephanie Nur is Aaliyah, the daughter of a billionaire businessman with ties to terrorism; and Jonah Wharton is Tex, another member of Joe’s team.
