‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Season 3 Gets a Trailer and ‘Strange New Worlds’ Crossover

Paramount+’s Star Trek panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con was loaded with juicy news, including the announcement of a bizarre crossover event. Star Trek: Lower Decks stars Tawny Newsome (the voice of Ensign Beckett Mariner) and Jack Quaid (the voice of Ensign Brad Boimler) joined Anson Mount on stage at the Con to reveal they’ll be beaming aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise for season two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The episode will be a mix of live-action and animation, and Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Jonathan Frakes is directing.

The Comic-Con panel also showed off Lower Decks‘ official season three trailer. The new season premieres on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

In addition to Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome, the season three voice cast includes Noël Wells as Ensign Tendi, Eugene Cordero as Ensign Rutherford, and Dawnn Lewis as Captain Carol Freeman. Jerry O’Connell voices Commander Jack Ransom and Gillian Vigman voices Doctor T’Ana.

Two-time Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty) created the series, executive produces and serves as showrunner. Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman and Aaron Baiers also executive produce along with Katie Krentz, Heather Kadin, and Roddenberry Entertainment’s Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.

Titmouse is the animation studio, and CBS’ Eye Animation Productions Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment produce.

Paramount+’s official season three synopsis:
