The cast of Netflix’s bingeworthy series Stranger Things made the trek to San Diego for the 2017 Comic Con, taking questions from fans during a packed panel and then stepping onto the red carpet for brief interviews. Stranger ThingsNatalia Dyer stopped to chat about reprising her role as Nancy Wheeler in the much-anticipated second season which is set to premiere on October 27, 2017.

Where is Nancy when season two picks up?

Natalia Dyer: “So, it’s a year later and Nancy is coping with everything that has happened and trying to piece together a sense of normalcy. But, there’s really no way to go back from what happened and so you just have to go forward and figure out what you’re going to do about it.”

How will Nancy live a normal teenage life after experiencing the supernatural?

Natalia Dyer: “Right? That’s exactly it. Being in a small town and not being able to really talk about things that happened, it’s very constricting and confining. I think this season we realize that you can’t really go back. There’s no going back to normalcy after that.”

Do you enter season two with more comfort or more pressure because of what season one delivered?

Natalia Dyer: “I think there’s an element of pressure because we had no idea exactly what the response would be to season one. It was so big and so great that you just hope you kind of live up to the hype in a way. But I also have safety in that I have a lot of trust in the (Duffer) brothers team and in the cast for delivering something great. I think it’s great, but you never know.”

How has your life changed since season one premiered?

Natalia Dyer: “It’s crazy. It’s been a very whirlwind kind of a year, and it’s been amazing and exciting and scary. New crazy things happening all the time, just trying to live in the moment. Trying to take it in.”

Do you have any plans when season two premieres to follow along with people watching it?

Natalia Dyer: “Yeah, I dip into social media a little bit. Honestly, I’m as excited as anybody to see it, to see what happens.”
