A criminal defense attorney, a federal prosecutor, a pro wrestler, and multiple farmers are among 21 castaways competing to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other on CBS’s Survivor season 51. The upcoming season marks the beginning of what’s been dubbed the “Open Era” of the long-running reality competition series.
CBS’s description of the Open Era states that “every twist, every idol, every advantage in the series’ history may come into play in any order and without warning.”
Season 51 premieres on September 23, 2026 with a two-hour episode. New 90-minute episodes follow on Wednesdays. Five-time Emmy winner Jeff Probst returns as host, guiding the 21 castaways through intense competitions on the beaches of Fiji. The sole survivor at the end of the season collects a $1 million grand prize.
