The History Channel offers this description of season two:

Each week is a detective hunt as the team follows the clues and dives mystery wrecks, hoping to identify them and close the case on why they disappeared. This season, they’ve now set their sights on a new set of wreck targets that they hope will solve some of the biggest, deepest, most perplexing mysteries of the missing in these dreaded waters.

In the season two premiere, the team discovers the lost remains of an A-3 Skywarrior jet that fatally crashed in July 1960 while trying to land on the USS Saratoga. A thorough investigation by both land and sea results in a positive identification of the exact jet and the pilot and crew who lost their lives. The team meets with the pilot’s sons to share some long-awaited answers to what happened in the moments leading up to that fateful crash over six decades ago.
