First Look: ‘The Crown’ Trailer with Claire Foy and Matt Smith

Netflix has just debuted the first trailer for the original series, The Crown, starring Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II, Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith as Prince Phillip, and John Lithgow as Sir Winston Churchill. The 10 episode series is based on Peter Morgan’s (Frost/Nixon) stage play The Audience and directed by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot). Andy Harries (The Queen) produced the dramatic series which will debut sometime later this year.


The cast also includes Victoria Hamilton as the Queen Mother, Jared Harris as King George VI, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret, and Dame Eileen Atkins as Queen Mary.
