‘The Four Seasons’ Trailer: Laughs, Love, and Vacation Drama

Three couples share laughter and heartache over the course of one year in The Four Seasons. Based on Alan Alda’s 1981 film, the trailer shows the six friends going on vacations together. That is, until one couple separates and a newcomer joins the group for their get-togethers, disrupting the group dynamic.

Date Night stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell reunite for the relationship dramedy created by Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield. Rounding out the core six are Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Colman Domingo, and Marco Calvani. Erika Henningsen stars as the younger woman who changes the vacation vibe.

“Six old friends head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up. The three couples, Kate (Fey) and Jack (Forte), Nick (Carell) and Anne (Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Domingo) and Claude (Calvani), are completely upended by the news,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Over the course of a year, we follow the friends on four vacations and watch how this shake-up affects everyone’s dynamic — sending old issues and new bubbling to the surface.”

The eight-episode season premieres on May 1, 2025.

Fey, Fisher, and Wigfield serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Fisher also directs. Additional executive producers include David Miner, Eric Gurian, and Jeff Richmond. Alan Alda, writer, director, and star of the original film, is a producer along with Marissa Bregman.

Speaking with Netflix’s Tudum, Fey said about the series, “I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them, and that we are a comfort and provide some laughs for them in their home.”
