The Old Man Season 2 Trailer: Blood, Betrayal, and Brutal Showdowns Await

FX’s action-packed trailer for The Old Man season two confirms the much-anticipated new season will be more brutal than the first. The trailer shows Dan Chase and Harold Harper teaming up, and ends with Chase issuing a warning: “When you put blood on the ground to protect something, to avenge someone, to show somebody you love them, there’s no going back from it.”

Jeff Bridges returns as Dan Chase and John Lithgow is back as Harold Harper. The season two cast also includes Navid Negahban, Alia Shawkat, Amy Brenneman, Jacqueline Antaramian, and Gbenga Akinnagbe.

“Former CIA agent Dan Chase and former FBI Assistant Director Harold Harper set off on their most important mission to date — to recover Emily Chase (Shawkat) after she is kidnapped by Faraz Hamzad (Negahban), a powerful Afghan tribal leader. With all three men claiming her as their daughter, Emily finds herself in an identity crisis that has dire implications,” reads FX’s synopsis. “As Chase and Harper fight their way to get to Emily, Hamzad is forced to make decisions that could endanger his family and the village he has led faithfully for a lifetime.

Khadija (Antaramian), Hamzad’s sister and trusted advisor, is concerned about the path her brother has taken and what it will cost them. As the stakes get higher and more secrets are uncovered, Zoe McDonald (Brenneman) makes surprising moves after having been drawn into a new world by Chase. Meanwhile, Julian Carson (Akinnagbe) is disillusioned by his former role and finds himself at a crossroads with a path he hadn’t imagined for himself.”

The critically acclaimed series is based on Thomas Perry’s bestseller. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine created the series and serve as writers and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Jeff Bridges, Dan Shotz, Warren Littlefield, David Schiff, Craig Silverstein, and Jon Watts.

Season two premieres on FX on September 12, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT with the release of the first two episodes. New episodes air on Thursdays.
