The CW’s The Originals season four episode eight provided details on the Hollow’s backstory, thanks to a visit from Davina. The episode also found The Vampire Diaries‘ Alaric (played by Matt Davis) putting in an appearance to deliver a bone that’s part of the key to defeating the Hollow. The episode ended with Hope saving the day and proving she’s a formidable enemy of the Hollow, and with poor Elijah on the verge of death.

Up next is season four episode nine titled ‘Queen Death.’ Directed by Nicole Rubio from a script by Beau DeMayo, episode nine is set to air on May 19, 2017. The cast of season four includes Joseph Morgan as Klaus, Charles Michael Davis as Marcel, Daniel Gillies as Elijah, Phoebe Tonkin as Hayley, Yusuf Gatewood as Vincent, Riley Voelkel as Freya, Summer Fontana as Hope, Christina Moses as Keelin, and Taylor Cole as Sofya.

The “Queen Death” Plot: A SURPRISING ALLIANCE AND A HEARTBREAKING SACRIFICE — When The Hollow sends a terrifying message to Vincent (Gatewood), he must team with Haley (Tonkin) and Freya (Voelkel) to embark on a desperate mission to stop the Hollow once and for all — even if it requires a heartbreaking sacrifice. Refusing to allow anyone in his family to pay the high price of defeating their enemy, Klaus (Morgan) makes a surprising alliance and enacts a plan that threatens to change the Mikaelson family forever.
