‘The Orville’ – Seth MacFarlane’s Sci-Fi Series Shows Off a Behind-the-Scenes Video

Fox’s new sci-fi series The Orville‘s released a five minute 360 behind the scenes look into the concept of the show and the main characters. In the video, series creator/executive producer Seth MacFarlane explains what’s in store for viewers when they tune into the one-hour sci-fi comedy/drama set to premiere on September 10, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT. The first two episodes air on Sundays after the NFL doubleheader and then on September 21st The Orville moves to its regular time slot on Thursdays at 9pm ET/PT.


In addition to MacFarlane as Commanding Officer Ed Mercer, the season one cast includes Adrianne Palicki (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as First Officer Kelly Grayson, Penny Johnson Jerald (24) as Dr. Claire Finn, Scott Grimes (Justified) as Gordon Molloy, Peter Macon (Shameless) as Bortus, Halston Sage (Neighbors) as Alara Kitan, J Lee (American Dad) as John LaMarr, Mark Jackson (That Royal Today) as Isaac, and Chad L. Coleman (The Walking Dead) as Klyden.

The Plot: The series is set 400 years in the future that follows The Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life.
