NBC’s The Voice is switching things up, heading into production on The Voice: Celebrity. Keke Palmer (The ‘Burbs) is on board as host of what’s described as an “eventized season” of the popular singing competition.
Joe Jonas will make his coaching debut with the special season, joining coaches Queen Latifah (The Equalizer) and Riley Green (recently seen on Marshals) who will be taking seats in the red chairs for the first time with season 30. Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine fill out the coaching roster for the 30th season, with Carson Daly returning as host.
The eventized season will premiere in 2027, with Daly involved as a producer.
NBC offers this description of what’s in store for the Celebrity edition:
“An extension of the longstanding series, this special season swaps undiscovered talent for a wide range of celebrities – actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars – competing to become the first Voice celebrity champion. These celebrity artists will be announced at a later time.
The Voice: Celebrity will offer unprecedented access to artists throughout the competition as viewers watch familiar faces step outside their comfort zones and reveal new sides of themselves. New features such as Voice Boot Camp give viewers a behind-the-scenes look as celebrities prepare for their fan-favorite Blind Auditions while the VIP Room brings artists together to watch their fellow celebrities take The Voice stage in real time.
Later in the competition, the Workroom offers another window into the process as artists strategize, rehearse, and ready themselves for the Battles.”
