Filming’s officially underway on Netflix’s This Summer Will Be Different, based on Carley Fortune’s novel. Netflix released a photo of series stars Sophie Nélisse (Heated Rivalry), Francesca Reale (Stranger Things), and Roby Attal (The Haunting of Bly Manor) as production begins on Prince Edward Island.
Netflix’s synopsis reads, “This Summer Will Be Different, based on the beloved novel by Carley Fortune, is a simmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy, a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend’s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for.”
New recurring cast members include Jordan Rodrigues as Miles Lam, Jude Wilson as Zach, Natalie Brown as Christine, James Tupper as Ken, Tom Barnett as Peter, and Celia Owen as Joy.
Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart created the series and serve as showrunners of the first 10-episode season. Clark, Stewart, author Carley Fortune, Jennifer Kawaja, Elise Cousineau, and Sam Levine executive produce. Karen Maine, Jasmin Mozaffari, and Fab Filippo are the directors.
