We’re a little over six weeks out from the premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead season nine and today the network’s unveiled a new group of photos from the new season. Season nine, the final season for Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, will kick off on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT.
It appears it won’t be far into the upcoming season before we learn why the gang is taking a covered wagon down a flight of stairs. That scene, as well as a few of the others depicted in the new batch of photos, hints that for at least a portion of the season differences over the handling of Negan will be set aside as the group works together to set up a new community.
The cast of The Walking Dead includes Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Alanna Masterson, Seth Gilliam, Khary Payton, Pollyanna McIntosh, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The Walking Dead is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comics published by Image Comics. Scott M. Gimple, Angela Kang, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Tom Luse and Denise Huth executive produce, with Kang serving as the season nine showrunner.
