Uma Thurman Joins ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Cast as a Former Special Ops Officer

Oscar nominee Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction) is entering the world of serial killer Dexter Morgan with a series regular role in Dexter: Resurrection. Thurman’s the first Dexter newbie announced and will be joining returning Dexter alum Michael C. Hall in the titular role, James Remar as Harry Morgan, and David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista.

Dexter: New Blood‘s Jack Alcott will reprise his role as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan.

Paramount+ with Showtime hasn’t released a synopsis for this new addition to the Dexter franchise. However, they did offer the following description of Uma Thurman’s character:

“Thurman will play the series regular role of Charley, the ‘Head of Security’ for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.”

Filming got underway this month in New York, with Paramount+ with Showtime aiming for a summer 2025 debut. Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Dexter: Original Sin) is serving as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include franchise star Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll). Marcos Siega is directing six episodes and Monica Raymund will direct four.

Dexter: Resurrection is produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios.

Uma Thurman’s credits include Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Hysterical Blindness, Smash, Red, White and Royal Blue, and The Kill Room. Thurman recently completed work on Ballerina Overdrive with Iris Apatow and The Old Guard 2 starring Charlize Theron.
