Two-time Emmy nominee John Stamos guest stars on UnPrisoned season two, playing a family counselor who tries to help the Alexanders. The trailer for the upcoming season confirms a counselor is definitely necessary, as there are lots of issues to work through.
“The Alexander Family is still a mess – Paige’s therapy practice is in trouble, Finn’s anxiety is through the roof, Edwin is still figuring out how to get his life together outside of prison, and their relationships are more complicated than ever,” reads Hulu’s synopsis. “The family needs help and it’s time to call in a professional – OTHER than Paige. The Alexanders turn to a ‘family radical healing coach’ who throws out all the rules to free them of their issues, old wounds, and family secrets holding them back.”
The cast is led by Kerry Washington as Paige and Delroy Lindo as Edwin. Faly Rakotohavana is Finn, Marque Richardson plays Mal, Jordyn McIntosh is Little Paige, and Jee Young Han is Esti. Washington and Lindo also serve as executive producers along with Pilar Savone, Tracy McMillan, Yvette Lee Bowser, Joy Gorman Wettels, and Jen Braeden.
In addition to John Stamos, season two guest stars include Oliver Hudson, Jamie Chung, and Brandee Evans.
Season one of the popular comedy sits at 93% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Stephanie Morgan at Common Sense Media says it “strikes the perfect balance between humor and impactful storytelling.” And Variety’s Daniel D’Addario praises Kerry Washington, saying, “Washington’s back to the angle that suits her best — and at the heart of a sweetly intended show of disarming quality.”
All eight episodes will debut on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 on Hulu.
