‘Cobra Kai’s Xolo Mariduena Joins ‘One Piece’

Cobra Kai‘s Xolo Maridueña has joined the cast of Netflix’s One Piece. Maridueña has boarded the series’ third season and will play Portgas D. Ace. 

The popular series based on Eiichiro Oda bestselling manga series premiered on August 31, 2023. Season two is scheduled to launch on March 10, 2026. Netflix hasn’t confirmed a target date for season three, which is expected to begin filming in Cape Town, South Africa, soon.

Eiichiro Oda is involved as an executive producer along with Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda. Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers.

Season two stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Netflix recently announced Cole Escola (Search Party) will play fan-favorite character Bon Clay. 

Netflix hasn’t released details on season three’s plot. Season two’s description reads:

“Netflix’s epic high-seas pirate adventure, One Piece, returns for season two—unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”
