27 Recordings Head to the Grammy Hall of Fame

27 Recordings Added to the Grammy Hall of Fame

27 songs have been selected to be added to the Grammy Hall of Fame, a prestigious honor awarded to single and album recordings older than 25 years that “exhibit qualitative or historical significance.” Among this new batch of inductees being added in 2015 are recordings by Lou Reed, The 4 Seasons, ABBA, Leonard Cohen, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and the Sex Pistols.

The 27 new titles will bring the list of inductees in the Grammy Hall of Fame to 987.

“With recordings dating as early as 1909 through the late ’80s, this year’s GRAMMY Hall Of Fame entries not only represent a diverse collection of influential and historically significant recordings but also reflect the changing climate of music through the decades,” stated Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. “These memorable, inspiring and iconic recordings are proudly added to our growing catalog — knowing that they have become a part of our musical, social, and cultural history.”
