Dune Part 3 Trailer: Paul Atreides Faces Betrayal and Duncan Idaho’s Return

Warner Bros. Pictures’ official trailer for Dune: Part Three delivers more action, more interactions between Paul and Chani, and a lot more of the Duncan Idaho-clone, Hayt. The nearly three-minute trailer also serves up a little action intermingled with quieter, character-driven scenes.

Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet stars as Paul Atreides, Zendaya returns as Chani, Jason Momoa’s back but as Duncan’s clone, and Rebecca Ferguson reprises her role as Lady Jessica. Anya Taylor-Joy plays Alia Atreides, Javier Bardem is Stilgar, Florence Pugh is Irulan, and Robert Pattinson joins the sci-fi franchise as Scytale. Isaach de Bankolé and Charlotte Rampling also star in the concluding chapter of the trilogy.

“Dune: Part Three is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow,” reads Warner Bros. Pictures’ synopsis. “Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As rebellion brews and enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.”

Villeneuve’s first Dune film opened in theaters in October 2021, followed by Part Two in March 2024. Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing Dune: Part Three in theaters and IMAX on December 18, 2026.
