Insidious: The Red Door Trailer Teases the Final Trip to ‘The Further’

The fifth and apparently final film of the Insidious franchise marks the feature directorial debut of franchise star Patrick Wilson. Insidious: The Red Door welcomes back Wilson and Rose Byrne, and the trailer promises this final chapter of the horror film saga will send the Lamberts back into The Further to deal with their demons one last time.

Directed by James Wan from a screenplay by Leigh Whannell, the original Insidious opened in theaters in April 2011 and introduced Wilson, Byrne, Ty Simpkins, and Andrew Astor as a family who encountered terrifying demons. Insidious: Chapter 2 followed in September 2013 with Wan directing and Wilson, Bryne, Simpkins, and Astor returning to star.

Leigh Whannell took over as director for Insidious: Chapter 3, a prequel (without the Lambert family) that opened in theaters in June 2015. And Insidious: The Last Key arrived in January 2018 with The Taking director Adam Robitel at the helm.

Ty Simpkins and Andrew Astor reunite with Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne for this final chapter. Hiam Abbass and Sinclair Daniel also star.

Scott Teems wrote the screenplay (story by Leigh Whannell), and Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Whannell produce. Steven Schneider, Charles Layton, Ryan Turek, and Brian Kavanaugh Jones serve as executive producers.

Insidious: The Red Door will open in theaters on July 7, 2023.
