‘Luck’ Teaser Trailer: All Hail Our Animal Overlords

The teaser trailer for the Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation comedy Luck begins with Bob the cat (voiced by Simon Pegg) explaining it’s just a myth that black cats are bad luck. It’s simply not true, according to the trailer’s feline host. Instead, luck is decided by animals who reside in the Land of Luck.

In addition to Simon Pegg, the voice cast features Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Eva Noblezada, and Flula Borg. Lil Rel Howery, Colin O’Donoghue, John Ratzenberger, and Adelynn Spoon also lend their voices to the family-friendly comedy.

Emmy Award-winner Peggy Holmes (The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning) directs from a screenplay by Kiel Murray (Raya and the Last Dragon), Jon Aibel, and Glenn Berger (Kung Fu Panda 2). Skydance Animation’s John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and David Eisenmann produce.

Apple TV+ has set an August 5, 2022 premiere date.

Lil Rel Howery is Marv, the owner of the Flowers & More store where Sam gets her first job, who is upbeat, sharply-dressed, and always ready with an encouraging word for unlucky Sam.

John Ratzenberger is the voice for Rootie, a bad luck root and the self-appointed mayor of Bad Luck, who runs The Lucky Shot, the one and only Bad Luck watering hole, where he specializes in free advice.

Adelynn Spoon is Hazel, Sam’s roommate and best friend at the Summerland Home for Girls, who is five years old and believes that she’ll be adopted by her forever family just as soon as she finds a real lucky penny, which Sam is determined to find for her.
