‘Sons of Anarchy’ Spinoff ‘Mayans MC’ Gets a Series Order

FX has made it official. Mayans MC, the much-anticipated spinoff of Sons of Anarchy, has been given a season one order. The network confirmed season one will consist of 10 episodes and will premiere sometime in 2018.

Mayans MC was created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James. Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions are producing the dramatic series, with Noberto Barba directing the show’s pilot. Barba will be executive producing along with Sutter.

The Sons of Anarchy spinoff is set to star Edward James Olmos (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), JD Pardo (The Messengers, Blood & Oil), Sarah Bolger (Into the Badlands, Agent Carter), Clayton Cardenas (American Crime), Richard Cabral (American Crime), Michael Irby (SEAL Team), Raoul Trujillo (Jamestown), Antonio Jaramillo (Shades of Blue), and Carla Baratta (Prueba de Fe).

The Basic Plot:Mayans MC is the next chapter in the Sons of Anarchy saga, Kurt Sutter’s award-winning series that was the highest-rated ongoing drama series in FX history for seven seasons. The Mayans were recurring and pivotal players in Sons of Anarchy throughout the show’s seven-year run.

Mayans MC is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, fresh out of prison, is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp.”
