‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Teaser Debuts Along with New Photos

The nearly three-minute teaser for Netflix’s Stranger Things season five is loaded with clues and confirms the Duffer Brothers are sending off the popular series with an epic final season. The Upside Down will burn, Demodogs and the Demogorgon terrorize our Hawkins heroes, and Nancy cries as she washes blood off her hands. There’s so much to take in that repeat viewing is required.

Netflix’s first final season teaser release was accompanied by a batch of new photos.

“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished—his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming—and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone—the full party—standing together, one last time.”

‘Sorry, Baby’ Review (2025 Sundance Film Festival)

Sorry, Baby Review
Eva Victor stars in ‘Sorry, Baby,’ an official selection of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival (Courtesy of Sundance Institute | photo by Mia Cioffi Henry)

First-time feature filmmaker Eva Victor earned the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award: U.S. Dramatic award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival for Sorry, Baby. Victor (Billions) also stars in this profoundly moving dramedy, which tackles sexual assault and its lasting effects with raw honesty.

Sorry, Baby doesn’t show the assault. The word rape is barely uttered. Instead, Victor assumes the audience knows exactly what happened. Refusing to grant the attacker any power in her story, Victor’s screenplay figuratively tosses the character onto the trash heap and laser-focuses on the survivor.

Sorry, Baby is told in chapters, and it’s not until Chapter Two-“The Year with the Bad Thing”-that the attack occurs. Before that happens, Chapter One establishes the close relationship between Agnes (Victor) and her ride-or-die best friend, Lydie (Naomi Ackie, Blink Twice). They share an easygoing bond, even closer than most sisters.

Agnes continues to live in the house she shared with Lydie during their college years and is now the youngest full-time professor in the English department at the college they attended. The fact she chooses to remain at this college after the bad thing happened shows her inner strength and unwillingness to allow her rapist to control her life moving forward.

Chapter Two takes the action back a few years to when they were grad students working on their theses. Professor Decker (Louis Cancelmi, also from Billions) is Agnes and Lydie’s thesis advisor and a fan of Agnes’ writing. Life for Agnes, up until this point, has been relatively good. And then the bad thing happens.

It’s during the period immediately following Agnes’ sexual assault that both Victor’s writing and acting really shine. Victor convincingly portrays Agnes’ recounting of the rape to Lydie, capturing a sense of shock and dissociation, as if the event were experienced from outside herself, through a blurry filter. It’s also from this point forward in the film that Naomi Ackie’s Lydie is fully developed as a fiercely loyal friend who would bury a body if asked without pausing to consider the ramifications. (We could all use a Lydie in our lives.)

When Agnes brings home a kitten, Lydie tells her to do whatever she needs. And when Agnes wants to burn down her rapist’s office, Lydie volunteers to do it for her. Would Agnes begin to heal without Lydie? Yes. But having Lydie at her side makes the process much less scary. Agnes doesn’t have to go through the stages of trauma recovery alone.

Eva Victor’s Sorry, Baby is more than just a solid first feature. The moving, sometimes hysterical, and often heartbreaking dramedy signals the arrival of a filmmaker with a unique voice capable of honestly portraying difficult subjects. In Agnes, Eva Victor has created a character who’s vulnerable yet resilient, a character audiences empathize with, embrace, and want to support through her journey. She’s complex, imperfect, and, most importantly, undeniably relatable.

GRADE: A

Sorry, Baby premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award: U.S. Dramatic.

George Lucas is heading not to a galaxy far far away, but to San Diego for the 2025 Comic-Con. The panel planned for Sunday, July 27th will mark the first time the filmmaker has been confirmed to participate in the popular culture convention.

Four-time Oscar nominee George Lucas will appear with three-time Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro and Oscar winner Doug Chiang in SDCC’s largest hall, Hall H, which seats 6,500. Grammy winner Queen Latifah will moderate the “Sneak Peek of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art” panel that will focus on “the power of illustrated stories and the role of narrative art in society. From ancient cave drawings and hieroglyphics to paintings, murals, illustrations, comics, digital media, and sculptures, this panel will delve into the universal language of illustrated storytelling.”

Commenting on the much-anticipated panel, David Glanzer, Chief Communications and Strategy Officer of Comic-Con, said, “We are beyond thrilled to welcome George Lucas to Comic-Con for the very first time. Nearly five decades ago, Star Wars made one of its earliest public appearances at our convention, along with a booth featuring Howard Chaykin’s now legendary Star Wars poster as a promotional item. Now, to have Mr. Lucas return—this time to debut the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art—is a true full-circle moment. His lifelong dedication to visual storytelling and world-building resonates deeply with us and our community, and the museum’s mission to celebrate narrative art in all its forms perfectly reflects what Comic-Con has championed from the very beginning.”

George Lucas is a co-founder of the museum, and Guillermo del Toro serves on the Lucas Museum’s Board of Directors.

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is scheduled to open in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park in 2026. The 300,000-square-foot building will feature works by Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judy Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish. Works by comic artists Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb will also be on display, along with photos by Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange.
