‘Sweetbitter’ Season 2 Trailer Cooks Up More Drama

Season two of Starz’s Sweetbitter, the half-hour series based on the bestselling book by Stephanie Danler, is set to premiere on July 14, 2019. With the new season just a little over a month away, Starz has just released the official full trailer for the drama starring Ella Purnell.

The minute and a half trailer begins with Jake (played by Tom Sturridge) telling Tess (Purnell) she’s different. He can’t describe what he means other than to say, “Than you were before.” The trailer reveals Tess may be different but she’s retained her curiosity about life and about her new city.

Season two also stars Caitlin FitzGerald (Masters of Sex), Paul Sparks (The Girlfriend Experience), Evan Jonigkeit (X Men: Days of Future Past), Eden Epstein (In Between Men), Jasmine Mathews (Blue Bloods), and Daniyar (Claws).

Season two will air on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.

Author Stephanie Danler created the series and serves as an executive producer. Stuart Zicherman (The Americans) returned to guide the series as showrunner and also executive produces.

The Sweetbitter Plot:

“What comes after being new? Tess (Ella Purnell) has the job, and she’s ready to invest in it. She’s all in, but soon realizes she won’t survive at the restaurant if she doesn’t play the game. Tess finds her appetite awakened. She’s starving for knowledge but investing in this life means more than knowing the difference between wine from Bordeaux and Burgundy. Tess discovers that knowledge alone is not enough: she needs to be able to use it, to move from her head to her body. She needs experience.

Tess’s appetite carries her through a sexual awakening, a discovery of her voice, and, ultimately, a recognition of her own power. However, not everyone shares this hunger. Simone, Jake and Howard are all trapped, by both the restaurant and each other, leaving Tess to question what she wants from the restaurant, and what it wants from her.”

‘Cold Blood’ Trailer: Jean Reno Stars as a Hitman with a Dilemma

The official trailer’s arrived for Cold Blood – not to be confused with the 2005 or 2008 films of the same title. Or, for that matter, with 1967 or 1996’s In Cold Blood. However, it can be confused with Cold Blood Legacy which is how this 2019 thriller’s listed on IMDB, complete with an identical poster but with “Legacy” tacked on the title.

The action thriller starring Jean Reno has a The Professional vibe and features Reno once again playing a hit man, a role he’s become quite adept at tackling. In addition to Jean Reno, the cast of the thriller includes Sarah Lind (The Exorcism of Molly Hartley), Joe Anderson (Across the Universe), David Gyasi (Troy: Fall of a City), François Guétary (Lost), and Samantha Bond (Downton Abbey).

Petitjean’s behind the scenes team includes director of photography Thierry Arbogast (La Femme Nikita, The Fifth Element), editor Viktor Onysko (Storozhova zastava), and casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry (The Last Kingdom, Broadchurch).

Screen Media has set a July 5, 2019 release in theaters and On Demand.

The Plot:

Cold Blood is the story of Henry (Jean Reno), a legendary hitman enjoying the isolation of his lakeside cabin deep within the vast wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. When the solitude of his well-earned retirement is shattered by the arrival of a young woman (Sarah Lind), the survivor of a dramatic snowmobile accident, Henry must decide whether to risk his own life to save hers.”

‘Jurassic World’ Animated Series Coming from DreamWorks Animation and Netflix

It’s probably safe to say DreamWorks Animation’s new Jurassic World series will not feature dinosaurs running amok and eating people. The just-announced Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous series is targeting a younger audience and is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2020.

According to Netflix, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is set within the same timeline as the 2015 movie.

The new Jurassic World series comes from executive producers Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Colin Trevorrow, Scott Kreamer and Lane Lueras. Kreamer (Pinky Malinky) and Lueras (Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny) are the season one showrunners. Zack Stentz is a consulting producer.

The film franchise has grossed more than $5 billion. Three-time Oscar winner Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List) directed the first two Jurassic movies, Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). Joe Johnston took over directing duties for the third dinosaur action-adventure film, Jurassic Park III (2001). Colin Trevorrow joined the franchise as director of Jurassic World (2015), with J.A. Bayona helming the most recent film of the franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).

The animated series is part of DreamWorks Animation and Netflix’s multi-year partnership. Their other productions include Guillermo del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Spirit Riding Free, and The Boss Baby: Back in Business.

In addition to announcing the series, Netflix and DreamWorks Animation released a 40 second teaser trailer and the first official photo.

The Plot:

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive.”

‘Child’s Play’ New Clip Featuring Mark Hamill Voicing Chucky

The new clip from the latest addition to the Child’s Play franchise shows Andy defending himself from Chucky. The one-minute “Peekaboo” clip doesn’t show Chucky (other than his shoes), but we do get the opportunity to hear Mark Hamill voicing the serial killer doll.

The cast of the 2019 Child’s Play includes Aubrey Plaza (Legion, Parks and Recreation), Gabriel Bateman (The Dangerous Book for Boys, Lights Out), and Brian Tyree Henry (If Beale Street Could Talk, Widows). Mark Hamill (the Star Wars films) takes over as the voice of Chucky after Brad Dourif voiced the killer doll in the film franchise’s previous installments. Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) directed from a script by Tyler Burton Smith, based on characters created by Don Mancini.

Seth Graham-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions (It, It: Chapter Two) produced the new Child’s Play. The behind the scenes team includes cinematographer Brendan Uegama, editor Tom Elkins, production designer Dan Hermansen, costume designer Jori Woodman, and set decorator Rachel Robinson.

Orion Pictures has planned a June 21, 2019 theatrical release.

The Plot:

“A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.”
