Jay Hernandez Interview: Magnum P.I., Tom Selleck and the Show’s Tone

Magnum P.I. has been synonymous with Tom Selleck since it premiered in 1980. Now Magnum is getting a makeover from the team that rebooted Hawaii Five-O and MacGyver. Jay Hernandez plays the new Thomas Magnum and he spoke with reporters at TCA after a Magnum P.I. panel.

Magnum is still a returning veteran, now solving crimes for clients in Hawaii. Higgins is now a woman played by Perdita Weeks. Magnum P.I. premieres Monday, September 24, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS.

Did you by any chance do any ride-alongs with a real P.I.?

Jay Hernandez: “I’ve done so many ride-alongs with cops and state troopers and port authority that it wasn’t something essential for me. I’ve trained with weapons. I mean, I feel like 20 years of a career has prepared me for this role.”

How do you like Hawaii?

Jay Hernandez: “I don’t know, I haven’t seen most of it because I’ve been on set the entire time. I’m in like every scene from beginning to end. So far that’s my week and on the weekends I’m doing TCAs and photo shoots. Probably in about two months I’ll get a chance to spend some time on the island and do some surfing.”

Talk about the iconic firsts, the first time you sat in the Ferrari, the first time you got the Hawaiian shirt.

Jay Hernandez: “We’re not doing a Hawaiian shirt quite yet but it’s coming and it’s kind of an earned moment which I think they did a great job with it. For me, I would say one of the most surreal, I had to step back and pinch myself moments, was two months before I got this opportunity, I was randomly flipping through TV, I saw Magnum P.I. on the guide. I clicked on it. It was Tom Selleck on a surf ski in the middle of a bay in Hawaii. Two months after that I found myself in that very same scenario shooting that scene where I’m in the surf ski with the Detroit Tigers hat going through the bay. It was just so surreal to find myself in that spot.

I was a huge fan of the show. My mother was a huge fan of the show. That one’s going to stay with me. It was one of the first moments where it really landed on me that I was given this chance to play this iconic character.”

Did something stand out to you about the original show and made you a fan as a kid?

Jay Hernandez: “What I loved about it was Tom, to be honest. Some of the ancillary characters or storylines were kind of a little campy. It felt like a show from that time period, but looking back on it, it was the charm, it was his charisma, it was that ability of this individual to be attractive to both men and women in the sense that women wanted to have a relationship with him. Men wanted to drink a beer with this guy. It was just cool. As a kid, I responded to that. The red Ferrari didn’t hurt. Things like that, the beautiful women, Hawaii as a location, all that stuff was just icing on the cake.”

When the time is right, would you like to have him on the show?

Jay Hernandez: “I would love to. I would love to. There’s a million ways we can make it happen, but he’s still on a show. Not to wish anything bad for Blue Bloods but if that ends, then there might be a possible way to get him to do the show and I would love that.”

What is different about this Magnum?

Jay Hernandez: “I think a lot of the backstory feeds who this character is, how this story is being built. I would say the one glaringly different aspect of the show is the fact that Higgins is a woman and that dynamic between Higgins and Magnum is going to be different. There’s relationship stuff that can be explored that can turn out to be really interesting and fruitful in terms of building story, but outside of that, I think the main bones and pieces of what made Magnum P.I. special and unique, the POW thing, the charm, the backstory is all still there and feeds into the show, into this character, this version.”

Have you been asked to play a pre-existing character before?

Jay Hernandez: “I’ve played real life individuals. Like in World Trade Center, I played Dominick Pezzulo.”

But redoing one?

Jay Hernandez: “I’ve never done a reboot. No, I don’t think I have.”

What’s daunting about it? Just that there is a footprint?

Jay Hernandez: “Well, I feel like because it’s such a different direction for this character, I feel less burdened by the past. I think if the example of Jared Leto, when I did Suicide Squad, there was built in hate for his portrayal of it. Everybody wanted him to fail, so I had that in the back of my mind.

I thought it was a really smart thing for Peter [Lenkov] in casting and the network to do something that felt really different. Visually, I don’t have the mustache. As Peter said, that was something that Tom brought to the character. I just thought they were dealing with it in the right way because honestly coming in, it was one of the things that I was worried about. I know there’s going to be, regardless of the casting decision, everyone thinks they know best. They know better than the guys writing checks and blowing up Ferraris. It’s like the guy in his mom’s basement knows better than all these people, right? So, everybody has an opinion and I knew that there was gonna be some sort of backlash, but I felt confident in the fact that I can do this, and two, that it was enough of a different direction that there was less weight on me. So it gave me more freedom.”

What’s the relationship between Magnum and Hawaii? Are they glad you’re back?

Jay Hernandez: “They are over the moon. They want the show to work. They love the show. Pretty much everybody I come across has a story of like my dad was this, my mom shot on the thing. Or, this used to be Tom’s favorite place to eat. Everybody’s got a story. It made such an impact on the island and it was a great selling point for the island.

Tourism feeds that state. There’s a service industry, there’s a lot of things that we are, as a production, going to be able to bring to the local economy and the people there. So they are very thankful that we’re there, but everybody has a soft spot for Magnum P.I.. They want the show to work.”

Are you running into Hawaii Five-O there?

Jay Hernandez: “Not constantly but on my way back to L.A. from Hawaii this time for the TCAs, Scott [Caan] was in front of me. It’s the first time we’ve met so it was good.”

Do you think you’ll cross over?

Jay Hernandez: “Yes. There’s already characters that are coming over from Five-O to Magnum. So it’s kind of like this world that Peter’s building on the island with detectives and P.I. There will be an official crossover that’s going to take place, but I think it’s probably maybe more middle/later part of the season.”

TV has gotten so serious. Is Magnum fun like the original?

Jay Hernandez: “I think tonally it’s similar but I think there’s always going to be some of that levity. There’s always going to be those moments of drama, but it’s not too heavy with that. I feel like the world is tense and heavy enough. There’s so much gravity when you turn on the news, there’s so much bullsh*t out there right now and so much hate and negativity. Everybody has these platforms on social media where they can espouse things and be anonymous. I feel like we don’t need more gravity when you turn on the TV. We need a little bit of that levity, so tonally it’s a bit of an escape.

It’s escapism. It looks visually beautiful. There’s that action element but the pilot’s a little more action heavy than the rest of the show will be. The way I look at it, tonally it’s a bit of escapism. Turn the TV on for an hour and get away from all the bullsh*t.”

Is this a dream role for you?

Jay Hernandez: “Yeah, yeah. It’s hard to pull the Magnum aspect. I remember when I first broke the news to my mom. I was taking my time having this conversation because she was a massive Tom Selleck, Magnum P.I. fan. That’s how I was introduced to the show.

So, we were at dinner. We were having a nice steak, glass of wine, kind of loosening up. I was like, ‘You know, mom, I didn’t want to say anything but I’m going to tell you now because it’s all official, we’re all done with contracts and all that, but I’m playing Magnum P.I.’ No, I said, ‘I’m doing Magnum P.I..’ And she said, ‘Who’s going to be Magnum P.I.? Please tell me it’s Tom Selleck.’ I’m like, ‘No, it’s not Tom Selleck. It’s going to be me.’ My own mother. She wanted Tom Selleck. She still wants Tom Selleck. She’s pitching me. She’s like, ‘When is he coming to the show?’ I’m like, ‘Knock it off. I’m Magnum. Maybe the show down the line.'”

Has she seen the pilot?

Jay Hernandez: “Blown away, yeah. She’s like overflowing with pride. Both of my parents are very happy for the career that I’ve had and it’s kind of like this cruel bit of life imitating art because my brother just two and a half, three weeks ago retired from the Navy. I’m playing a Navy guy. He spent 22 years in the U.S. military, went on numerous tours, went to the Middle East, went to Iraq, all this stuff. And I’m playing a Navy guy on television. So, for me, it’s a real source of pride to be able to portray a character like this. The fact that Peter Lenkov is conscious of this positive portrayal of vets coming back and allowing them to have a positive impact in society. It’s not all about PTSD and my misery and all that sort of side of things. For me, it’s a great honor and a great pleasure to be able to play a character like that.”

Have you swung your mom to your side?

Jay Hernandez: “Yeah, I think so. I think so. She’s an easy sell though. She just wants to meet Tom, I think. That’s the only thing. If she meets Tom, she will die a happy woman.”

Do you have a physical regimen for this role?

Jay Hernandez: “I did before but it’s so hard. My days are just insane. I’m first one in, last one out and then I just have to study for the next day’s material. I’ve been trying to run as much as possible, trying to hit the gym and trying to do surfing, trying to do as much surfing as I can.

My third day in Hawaii, because I got a place that was unfurnished, so I had a bed but it was on the floor so technically I didn’t really have a bed. But I did buy a surfboard, so order of operations was buy a surfboard, get a bed frame, how about a TV. I had my priorities straight.”

Did it take any convincing to get Tom Selleck’s blessing?

Jay Hernandez: “I’m sure it did. I don’t know that but I’m assuming that it’s such a part of his life, it was his baby. It gave him a career. It’s iconic. It’s been around forever. It still airs on television in 100 plus countries around the world.

I’m sure that he was a bit trepidatious about the whole thing and who’s being cast and how is it going to do? What if it’s really huge? If it’s too big, he might not like that. So, I’m sure there was a little bit of that. But at the end of the day, this is his legacy so I would be protective of that if I was him. That being said, he gave us his blessing so all of that considered, I think we’re in pretty good shape.”

Have you ridden in a helicopter?

Jay Hernandez: “I have been in the helicopter. It didn’t take off though. Not yet, not yet, but it’s coming.”

Do you do all your stunts?

Jay Hernandez: “I did most of my stunts in the pilot. I did have a stunt double who was great but I did most of my stuff. It’s like insurance stuff; I’m going to do as much as I can get away with. The stuff that you see in there so far, that’s been me and hopefully I’ll keep it that way as much as possible.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt Interview: Joining the Cast of ‘9-1-1’

Jennifer Love Hewitt is coming back to television and joining the cast of the Fox drama 9-1-1. She’ll play Maddie, Buck (Oliver Stark)’s older sister who joins the team. You can see her on the season premiere of 9-1-1 Sunday, September 23, at 8pm ET/PT on Fox.

Fox had a TCA panel for the second season of 9-1-1 to introduce Hewitt along with the rest of the cast. Hewitt was happy to stay after to talk with reporters, and happy to be back at work after taking time off to have her second child.

Is one-hour drama where you feel comfortable? Does it feel like home?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “I always end up there. I’ve tried a million times to go do a half-hour comedy or something and I always end up on a drama again, so apparently it’s my home, yeah.”

Who is Maddie?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “You know, I can’t tell you much more about her because I actually don’t know much about her yet. I’ve only done two episodes of the show, so I don’t know much more about her. I just know that she has been in a very tumultuous, abusive relationship, kind of came to her brother for the first time to really tell the truth and be open about where she is. She’s really finding herself as a 911 operator but she’s also hiding out as a 911 operator. So, I think we’ll learn more about that as the season goes on.”

What is her relationship with her brother?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “Their relationship is great. It’s a lot like Oliver and I. We love to give each other trouble. The love is there and the kindness is there and I think it’s hard for Buck to not want to just go and protect her. But I think she’s his older sister and it’s a little bit like, ‘Just find me a safe place and we’ll deal with the rest of it later.'”

Did you prep with some nurses to find out what makes them tick?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “I didn’t have a lot of time. They contacted me and I was like scrubbing like poop off the floor from my kid and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going back to work? Okay, great.’ So I didn’t have a lot of time, so I’m looking forward to actually meeting some actual 911 operators. But I’ve just been thrust back into it, so I haven’t had time to do that yet.”

Coming back from a mom hiatus, did you have any mom guilt feelings?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “Oh, for sure. It’s been a little bit of a hard adjustment. Who do you play? Oh, you get to play with cool toys? Awesome. So, it’s been harder on me but it’s really great and again, I’m very grateful.”

How has your mom experience been?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “It’s been beautiful. It was my first really long break in almost 29 years and I really needed it. I needed to be a person for a while. I need to have new things to bring back to my craft. I feel like I’ve done that now, but it was really important to me to have children and be there for them. I feel like I’ve been able to do that and they’re these full functioning beautiful little people now and it’s great.”

Do your kids know you know Garfield?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “It’s so funny you just asked that question. Somebody in my daughter’s school just watched Garfield and Garfield 2. She came home and she was like, ‘Mommy, there’s this movie that I just heard about. It’s about a funny cat and I want to watch it.’ I was like, ‘Oh god.’

So, we watched it. She watched the whole movie, said nothing and she goes, ‘You were very good, Mommy.’ And I was like, ‘Thanks, babe.’ It was really good. So, we’ve been watching it for the last three days. It’s really funny.”

People use memes of you from I Know What You Did Last Summer. How do you feel about that?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “Any time that people recognize that you’ve been around for a long time, it’s really nice. I think as actors, the instinct is to go, ‘How long am I actually going to get to do this and how long am I actually going to get to be here?’ I still feel, going into my 30th year as an actor, still every time we finish I’m like, ‘Am I staying on the show today? Am I good? Did I do okay?’

I think you just never get over that so when people recognize you from another time, especially like the ‘90s which was such an awesome time, and people appreciate you in that way, it’s lovely.”

They’ve been talking about rebooting I Know What You Did Last Summer. Would you like to come back as one of the teachers?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “I’d have to come back as the creepy old lady now. I would do it. If they asked me, sure, I would love to. I loved those movies. They were really fun. She’s still spinning around going, ‘What are you waiting for?’ They’re like, ‘Old lady, move out of the road.’

Yeah, I don’t know what I would do but I would try.”

What do you still love about acting? What’s evolved from when you first started?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: “I think I love what everybody who watches actors love which is the ability to get to be someone else. How many people sit in traffic every day and go, ‘Oh God, if I could just be another person.’ And I actually get to do it all day. It’s really fun. You get to escape. You get to invent. You get to go, ‘Wow, I wish I was better at this as a real-life person so I’m going to make my character great at that.’ You get to pick and choose these beautiful or really messed up things about people that you can put in there.

I think what’s evolved for me is now being a mom, being married, having lost my mom six years ago, everything about me emotionally is different now. My priorities are different. The reasons that I do things are different. How I feel about them, how I honor her, all of those things have made me an even more open person, so I’ve found that in acting it’s easier to access those things. I feel like I’m in a much more honest place which is great because I’ve figured myself out a little bit.

I’m going to be 40 in February and you just get there. You go, ‘Oh, that’s who I am.’ So, you don’t have to run around and figure that out anymore which is nice.”

‘The Oath’ Restricted Trailer Proves Politics and Family Holidays Don’t Mix

Definitely don’t watch the new trailer for The Oath at work or around anyone who’s offended by bad language. The new red band trailer shows that when politics is discussed at the Thanksgiving dinner table, there’s a good possibility someone’s going to wind up in the hospital.

Actor/writer Ike Barinholtz (Central Intelligence, The Mindy Project) makes his feature film directorial debut with the comedy. The cast of the political comedy includes Barinholtz, Tiffany Haddish, John Cho, Carrie Brownstein, Billy Magnussen, Meredith Hagner, Jon Barinholtz, Nora Dunn, and Chris Ellis.

The producers of Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman and Jordan Peele’s Get Out – Sean McKittrick and Ray Mansfield – produced the timely comedy with Barinholtz, David Stassen, and Andrew Robinson. Tiffany Haddish, Edward H. Hamm Jr, and Kristen Murtha executive produced.

Roadside Attractions will be releasing The Oath in theaters on October 12, 2018. The film’s earned an R rating from the MPAA for language throughout, violence and some drug use.

The Oath Plot:

“A controversial White House policy turns family member against family member in The Oath, a savagely funny dark comedy about surviving life and Thanksgiving in the age of political tribalism. When Chris (Ike Barinholtz), a high-strung 24-hour progressive news junkie, and his more levelheaded wife Kai (Tiffany Haddish) learn that citizens are being asked to sign a loyalty oath to the President, their reaction is disbelief, followed by idealistic refusal.

But as the Thanksgiving deadline to sign approaches, the combination of sparring relatives, Chris’s own agitation and the unexpected arrival of two government agents (John Cho and Billy Magnussen) sends an already tense holiday dinner gathering completely off the rails. As timely as it is outrageous, The Oath is a gleefully wicked reinvention of the traditional holiday comedy for our divisive political times.”

Jordan Peele Finds the Perfect ‘The Twilight Zone’ Narrator

Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films are producing a new version of the classic series, The Twilight Zone. Peele and Kinberg are executive producing, and today it was announced Peele will also host and narrate the reimagining of The Twilight Zone.

“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” stated Jordan Peele. “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”

The new series is set up with CBS Television Studios and will air on CBS All Access in 2019. The original series is currently available to stream on CBS All Access.

Joining Peele and Kinberg as executive producers are Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Carol Serling, Rick Berg, and Greg Yaitanes. Filming is expected to begin later this fall.

“The original The Twilight Zone bridged science-fiction, horror and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access. “Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today’s audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series.”

“Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences,” said Jordan Peele when the series was announced in December 2017.

The Twilight Zone

A Look Back at The Twilight Zone, Courtesy of CBS:

“The original The Twilight Zone took viewers to another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. It was a journey into a wondrous land of imagination for five years on CBS, from 1959-1964. The godfather of sci-fi series, the show explored humanity’s hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in metaphoric ways conventional dramas could not.”

‘The Good Cop’ Stars Tony Danza and Josh Groban Discuss Their New Series

Tony Danza and Josh Groban team up as father and son in Netflix’s new series, The Good Cop. The series is set to premiere on September 21, 2018 and in the new nearly five minute video, Danza describes the show as having an old school vibe.

“Watching Columbo…that’s what our show is kind of. It’s a throwback to those kind of shows, like a procedural but it’s a mystery,” explained Tony Danza while cooking up stuffed artichoke.

Josh Groban added, “I like the mystery aspect of our show. How are we going to get ourselves out of this perfect murder? Every single episode has been such an adventure. Whatever the murder is, whatever the mystery is, takes us to a new world, a new environment. And, it’s fun for the whole family.”

The cast of the new cop series also includes Monica Barbaro (Splitting Up Together), Isiah Whitlock Jr (The Old Man and the Gun), and Bill Kottkamp (Father of the Year).

Andy Breckman (Monk) is the season one showrunner. Breckman also serves as an executive producer along with Randy Zisk (Bones, Monk), and Howard Klein (The Office, The Mindy Project). Series star Tony Danza serves as a producer on the show. The Netflix original production is inspired by a format from Israeli production company YES, with YES involved as executive producers.

The Good Cop Plot:

“In The Good Cop, Tony Danza plays Tony Sr., a lovable yet not exactly honorable, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr., Josh Groban, a brilliant, straight-laced NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules while solving Brooklyn’s toughest cases. This “odd couple” become unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly-cautious son blunt, street-wise advice.”

Kesha Debuts “Here Comes The Change” From the Film ‘On the Basis of Sex’

Kesha has written a new song specifically for the dramatic film, On the Basis of Sex, starring Felicity Jones as Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The song, described as an “acoustic guitar-led rallying cry of empowerment,” is titled “Here Comes The Change” and will be featured on the film’s soundtrack.

Kesha wrote the lyrics with Drew Pearson and Wrabel.

Focus Features’ On the Basis of Sex hits theaters in limited release on December 25, 2018. In addition to Felicity Jones, the cast includes Armie Hammer, Justin Theroux, Kathy Bates, Sam Waterston, Erwin Griswold, and Cailee Spaeny.

“I greatly admire Kesha’s artistry and commitment to activism,” said Mimi Leder, director of On the Basis of Sex. “I wanted her to write this song because her passionate voice and immense talent magnify the social justice imperatives Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to fight for every day. It was important to both of us that this song be not only an anthem to all that Ruth Bader Ginsburg achieved, but also a rallying cry for how much more change is yet to come.”

In an essay she wrote for Refinery 29, Kesha discussed how she was inspired to write the song after watching the film. “It was amazing to see Ginsburg’s story of leading a campaign that successfully changed laws that discriminated against Americans purely on the basis of their sex, as the film title suggests. In watching the film I was struck by how much Ginsburg was able to accomplish in her life, and at the same time, how much more there is to do in the fight for equality for all people.”

“Sometimes the troubles of the world are so overwhelming, it is paralyzing. And it’s true: One person may not be able to fix every problem. But we can certainly leave things better off than we found them,” explained Kesha.

Kesha Here Comes the Change

The artwork for the single was created by artist/social activist Shepard Fairey.

About “Here Comes The Change” and On the Basis of Sex, Courtesy of Focus Features:

“With lyrics that meditate on the battle for universal equality combined with Kesha’s wildly passionate vocal delivery (a highlight of her GRAMMY-nominated latest album Rainbow), “Here Comes The Change” echoes the sentiments of the film which tells an inspiring and spirited story that follows young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she teams with her husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination. The feature will premiere in 2018 in line with Justice Ginsburg’s 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court.”

Imagine Dragons Releases “Zero” from ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’

Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet, teamed up with Grammy Award winners Imagine Dragons for the film’s soundtrack. Imagine Dragons wrote and performed a new song, “Zero,” which will play over the end credits.

Commenting on contributing a song to the animated sequel, Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds said, “It’s a pretty timely movie in a lot of ways in that it addresses some of the issues of identity and loneliness unique to this internet generation. Ralph’s internal struggle for self-acceptance really resonated with us, and this song speaks to that.”

Director Rich Moore added, “It’s a bold choice for an end-credit song because it’s about someone who feels like a zero, someone who hasn’t always felt worthy, someone who’s allowed his entire sense of self to rely on a single friendship. When that friendship is threatened, there’s a lot of insecurity.”

“We can all relate to that feeling,” said co-director Phil Johnston. “But the song tells us we’re not alone. They nailed the theme of the movie in a way that also makes you want to dance.”

Describing the song, Reynolds said, “The song is a dichotomy in some ways, with sometimes heavy lyrics over pretty upbeat instrumentation. The result is a tone that is somewhat bittersweet, which felt appropriate given the complexity of Ralph as a character.”

Ralph Breaks the Internet is set to open in theaters on November 21, 2018. The soundtrack will arrive on Walt Disney Records on November 16, 2018.

The Ralph Breaks the Internet Plot:

In Ralph Breaks the Internet, video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) leave the comforts of the arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way.

Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Details on Queen of the World, Courtesy of HBO:

Queen of the World will offer unique insights into Her Majesty The Queen’s role as a figure on the global stage, and the baton she is passing to the younger members of the Royal Family as they continue to build upon the Commonwealth, an association of free and independent nations, the majority of which were formerly part of the British Empire. Today, there are 2.4 billion Commonwealth citizens, which is almost one-third of the world’s population.

Filmed over more than a year with privileged access to The Queen, her family, her staff and her residences, this landmark documentary tells the story of how the Commonwealth has been a central focus and passion throughout Her Majesty’s life.

Queen of the World features behind-the-scenes moments with The Queen and other members of the Royal Family, including Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Princess Anne; Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge; Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex; and the Countess of Wessex.

As the family and world leaders discuss the importance of the Commonwealth to The Queen, the film documents the ways she passes her knowledge and experience to the younger generations.”
