Netflix’s official trailer for Sirens sets up the dysfunctional relationship between sisters and introduces an incredibly wealthy woman who might be the head of a cult. It’s hard to tell if that’s true, but the trailer definitely sets up the possibility. Hey, hey.
Oscar winner Julianne Moore stars as the charismatic Michaela Kell, and Milly Alcock plays Simone DeWitt, the sister who’s fallen under Michaela’s spell. Meghann Fahy stars as Devon DeWitt, the sibling who doesn’t understand the appeal and Kevin Bacon plays Peter Kell, Michaela’s billionaire husband. Filling out the cast are Glenn Howerton as Ethan Corbin III, Bill Camp as Bruce DeWitt, and Felix Solis as Jose.
“Devon thinks her sister Simone has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell. Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention, but she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Told over the course of one explosive weekend at the Kells’ lavish island estate, Sirens is an incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class.”
In addition to releasing the official trailer, Netflix unveiled new photos and confirmed a May 22, 2025 premiere.
Emmy nominee Molly Smith Metzler (Maid) created the dark comedy and serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Additional executive producers include Colin McKenna and Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie for LuckyChap. Nicole Kassell executive produces and directs the first two episodes.
“Michaela and Simone are friends. They’re trauma-bonded. They’re codependent,” explained Molly Smith Metzler, discussing the series with Tudum. “But they also really need something from each other. And what they need from each other shifts throughout the show.”
Billy Magnussen (Black Mirror) pops in to guest star as a playboy on CBS’s Elsbeth season two episode 19, “I’ve Got a Little List.” Episode 19, directed by Lily Mariye, will air on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 9pm ET/PT.
And speaking of Elsbeth episodes, how about #18? The episode marked the end of Michael Emerson’s guest-starring run on the series, led by his wife, Carrie Preston. In an interview with Variety, Preston spoke about the episode’s lasting impact on her character. “It is our most dramatic episode of the whole series so far, and I think it is an important episode because of that,” said Preston. “We are going to see how it is that she overcomes it, because it does knock her off her feet and it really sends her into a darker place that we haven’t seen before.”
“I’ve Got a Little List” Plot: While investigating what appears to be a random shooting, Elsbeth meets Rod (Magnussen), an entitled playboy working through his bucket list of thrills, which may include murder. In the end, Elsbeth’s efforts to catch the killer land her in serious legal trouble.
Carrie Preston stars as Elsbeth Tascioni, Wendell Pierce stars as Captain C.W. Wagner, and Carra Patterson is back as Officer Kaya Blanke. Robert King, Michelle King, Liz Glotzer, and Jonathan Tolins serve as executive producers.
Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston is back as Elsbeth Tascioni, the astute but unconventional consent decree attorney working with the NYPD to catch New York’s most well-heeled murderers utilizing her unique point of view. Season two of the critically acclaimed series brings new cases and challenges when mistakes of the past come back to haunt Elsbeth, her boss Captain Wagner (Pierce), and detective in training Officer Kaya Blanke (Patterson).
There might be trouble in paradise when a good-looking man who can also see ghosts pops in on CBS’s Ghosts season four episode 21. “Kyle” airs on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 8:30pm ET/PT.
Rose McIver stars as Sam, Utkarsh Ambudkar is Jay, Brandon Scott Jones is Isaac, and Richie Moriarty plays Pete. Danielle Pinnock is Alberta, Asher Grodman is Trevor, Román Zaragoza stars as Sasappis, Rebecca Wisocky plays Hetty, Devan Chandler Long is Thorfinn, and Sheila Carrasco is Flower. Tristan D. Lalla guest stars as Mark.
“Kyle” Plot: Sam and Jay’s relationship is tested when Kyle (Ben Feldman), a handsome living who shares Sam’s ability to see ghosts, arrives at Woodstone B&B. Episode 21 was directed by Trent O’Donnell and written by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman.
Ghosts is a single-camera comedy about Samantha and Jay, a cheerful freelance journalist and up-and-coming chef from the city, respectively, who threw both caution and money to the wind when they decided to convert Woodstone Mansion, which Sam inherited, into a bed & breakfast—only to find it was inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home.
The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes a saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer (Danielle Pinnock); a pompous 18th-century militiaman (Brandon Scott Jones); a ‘60s hippie fond of hallucinogens (Sheila Carrasco); an overly upbeat ‘80s scout troop leader (Richie Moriarty); a cod-obsessed Viking explorer from 1009 (Devon Chandler Long); a slick ‘90s finance bro (Asher Grodman); a sarcastic and witty native from the 16th-century (Román Zaragoza); and a society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron who is Sam’s ancestor (Rebecca Wisocky), to name a few. The opening of the B&B has been a source of intrigue, anxiety, and curiosity among the spirits, but they will gladly put up with the commotion as long as they can continue to interact with a living inhabitant.
Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan star as the heads of an illegal drug empire in MobLand. In Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club, they reunite to star as retirees who spend their free time solving murders. Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie fill out the quartet of amateur sleuths.
The film, based on Richard Osman’s bestselling book, also stars Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, and Jonathan Pryce. Rounding out the ensemble are David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.
“The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees—Elizabeth (Mirren), Ron (Brosnan), Ibrahim (Kingsley), and Joyce (Imrie)—who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
Netflix announced an August 28, 2025 streaming premiere date and released the first batch of photos from the whodunit directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote adapted Osman’s novel, and Columbus and Jennifer Todd serve as producers. Author Osman, Jo Burn, Eleanor Columbus, Holly Bario, and Jeb Brody executive produce.
Commenting on the cast, director Chris Columbus told Tudum, “This is the finest cast I’ve worked with since Potter. They’re just so incredibly well-prepared, and it’s because they do everything. They do theater, they do television, they do film, and they’ve developed those sorts of muscles.”

In the bold travel competition series, Europe is turned into a real-life gameboard as complete strangers are invited to participate in the trip of a lifetime and the ultimate geo-guessing contest. These adventurous players will traverse each country on a blacked-out “Destination X” bus with the goal of figuring out where the “X” they are each week.
In each episode, the players disembark the bus to visit unique and unfamiliar tourist attractions that have been gamified into experiential challenges. They will need to rely on their knowledge of pop culture, history, geography, and observational skills to win clues to their current location and earn an all-important advantage. Contestants must tap into their own personal expertise, identify hidden clues that are disguised as artifacts, and discern intentional misdirects from competitors to ultimately determine their whereabouts.
Gamemaster Jeffrey Dean Morgan has a few tricks up his sleeve, from mind games and pivotal ultimatums to introducing two familiar faces — JaNa Craig (Love Island) and Peter Weber (The Bachelor), who hop on the adventure bus and change the trajectory of the game. At the end of each episode, designated contestants must enter the Map Room and place their X on the map to indicate where in the world they think they are. The furthest from the actual location is sent packing. The final player standing at the end of the tour will find Jeffrey at the ultimate Destination X and win $250,000.
Helena Zengel in ‘The Legend of Ochi’ (Photo Credit: Courtesy of A24)
A24 has branched out and away from the genres they’re best known for—horror and quirky dramas—with The Legend of Ochi, a fantasy adventure that strives to be similar to the family adventure films of the 1980s, such as E.T. and Gremlins.
The film opens with a shot of a dark island in the Black Sea and a voice-over from young Yuri (Helena Zengel, News of the World) talking about life on the island and how her people fear and hunt the deadly animals known as the Ochi. Yuri’s father, Maxim (Willem Dafoe, Nosferatu), trains her brother Petro (Finn Wolfhard, Stranger Things) and a group of teenage boys how to hunt the creatures.
After a hunt that goes horribly wrong, Yuri, upset with what she witnessed, walks into the wilderness and finds a wounded baby Ochi lost and separated from its mother. After carefully interacting with the frightened little animal, Yuri tells it, “It’s okay. I won’t hurt you,” and surprisingly quickly gains the creature’s trust.
Yuri secretly brings it back home and treats its wound, but her brother hears the noises it makes. She realizes they can’t stay, so she packs her backpack and climbs out the window to take the baby to its mother.
Maxim looks for his daughter the next morning when she misses breakfast, and after finding blood and Ochi animal fur, he assumes she’s been kidnapped. Worried, Maxim takes off with Petro and the other boys to find her.
So begins a long and arduous journey through the wilderness for Yuri and her little friend that will change everyone’s lives forever.
The Legend of Ochi is a fantasy adventure with beautiful visuals and wonderful puppetry bringing the little baby Ochi to life, complete with a sweet and scrappy personality. It’s in the character development, or lack thereof, and the emotional connections that the film fails.
16-year-old German actress Helena Zengel portrays Yuri as a shy, inquisitive, and, unfortunately, smug brat. Even though her quest is righteous, her treatment and interactions with everyone around her come off as insulting and condescending. She is an unlikable child hero.
Willem Dafoe once again delivers an over-the-top performance as Maxim, Yuri’s father who is desperate to find his child as well as win her love. It’s obvious early on in the film during the hunt that he’s trying to forge a connection with her and really bond. He’s the second best thing about the film.
As Petro, the older brother who, according to Yuri, is only “nice to her when no one is looking,” Finn Wolfhard’s talents are wasted. His character lacks depth and any genuine emotions, and he doesn’t have any chemistry with Zengel. They’re not convincing as siblings.
Where the film is strongest is in the stunning cinematography of the island and the design of the baby Ochi, which looks like a cross between Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian and little Gizmo from Gremlins. This is not, however, enough to make the film worthwhile. Sadly, it fails to capture the heart and emotion needed to truly care and connect with Yuri and baby Ochi.

In each episode, Arnett, alongside expert Brickmasters Amy Corbett and Jamie Berard, will encourage the builders, introduce incredible challenges, and put their creativity and skills to the test. The competing pairs who impress the judges the most will progress to the next round, until the finale, during which the top teams will face off for a $100,000 cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy, and the grand title of LEGO Masters.
MasterChef: Dynamic Duos:MasterChef enters its 15th season with a brand-new theme… Dynamic Duos! This season, Gordon Ramsay and renowned restaurateur Joe Bastianich return, alongside new judge James Beard Award nominee Chef Tiffany Derry, who will bring her no-nonsense point of view to the table. For the first time in MasterChef history, pairs of home cooks will participate together in hopes of becoming America’s next MasterChefs. From married and dating couples to mothers and daughters, siblings, best friends, and even divorcees—relationships are tested in some of the toughest challenges to date.
Plus, to make things even more difficult, the dreaded Pressure Test makes an intimidating return. In the end, only one Dynamic Duo will be awarded the grand prize of $250,000, the MasterChef trophy and the title of MasterChefs!
Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service: In a Gordon Ramsay series first, Chef Ramsay will venture into struggling restaurants under the cover of night. With the help of a secret source on the inside, he’ll gather raw, unfiltered evidence and get a 360-degree view of the major issues facing each restaurant. This insider will not only remain a secret to the staff but will also help Ramsay infiltrate the restaurant after-hours for a dramatic nighttime black light kitchen investigation that reveals more filth and grossness than ever before.
By the time Ramsay reveals his identity, it will be too late for staff to cover up their culinary crimes. Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service will be his toughest assignment yet, as he takes drastic measures to transform not only the restaurant but also the staff — because Gordon knows he can upgrade the menu and renovate the restaurant, but the most important change has to come from the people. Are the restaurant and staff willing to accept Gordon’s mission, or are they too far gone to be saved?
The Quiz with Balls: Hosted by actor and comedian Jay Pharoah, The Quiz with Balls pits brains against balls while combining a high-stakes quiz show with a large-scale physical competition. Each episode of The Quiz with Balls features two families competing for $100,000 in a “battle of the balls.” Standing on a high platform over a glistening pool, they must all work together as they face a multiple-choice quiz, during which each answer is allocated to a spot with a giant ball positioned up behind it.
If the correct answer is chosen, the ball rolls down and stops just before colliding with the player. If the answer is wrong, the massive ball rapidly descends and mercilessly launches them into the pool below. The more players each team loses, the harder the questions get. The longer they last, the more money they bank, until one “dry” family member plays the final round for The Quiz with Balls’ $100,000 Grand Prize.
The 1% Club:The 1% Club, hosted by Joel McHale, is a unique, compelling, and funny entertainment show that tests the nation’s intelligence, based on a scientific survey. It’s a chance to test how your brain works through a series of questions — all of which have a right answer but can also lead to a series of entertaining wrong answers along the way.
Whether you’re a contestant vying for the cash prize or a viewer playing with your friends and family, answer enough questions correctly, and you could earn yourself a place in the 1% Club: an elite group of people who can honestly say they’ve outwitted 99% of the population.

The Snake: Befriend. Betray. Or Be Gone. FOX’s all-new, wholly owned “social survival of the fittest” competition series, The Snake, hosted by comedian Jim Jefferies, is an unmatched battle of plotting, scheming, and strategy. The Snake assembles 15 masters of manipulation from various persuasive professions with unique skill sets to compete in an outrageous array of challenges and twists—all of which help contestants slither toward becoming that week’s Snake, the most powerful position in the game and ultimate decider of who stays and who goes.
The Snake is social survival of the fittest, where each contestant must leverage their unique skills, training, and powers of persuasion as they face a multitude of challenges designed to showcase the traits needed to be successful in the game. The winner of each challenge becomes The Snake, earning control of The Saving Ceremony, an explosive, chain reaction elimination where it’s not about who wants you gone, but who is willing to save you. The Snake doesn’t just hinge on winning challenges—it’s about winning people over. The social aspect of the game never stops—connections are everything, whether you’re making friends, faking friends or sparking romantic connections.
Promises are put to the test during the Saving Ceremony, as players do everything in their power to avoid being picked last by The Snake, hoping to escape elimination. Every week is a fresh start with a new gauntlet and a new Snake. In the end, only one contestant will get within striking distance of the $100,000 grand prize.
