One Love Manchester Benefit Concert Will Air Live on Freeform

One Love Manchester with Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande’s “One Love Manchester” benefit concert will air live on Disney/ABC Television Group’s Freeform on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 2pm ET (taped delayed on the West Coast). ABC will air a one-hour highlight special that evening following the NBA Finals. The “One Love Manchester” fundraising concert will be headlined by Ariana Grande and will include performances by Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Take That, Niall Horan, Little Mix, Robbie Williams, and Black Eyed Peas.

“This Sunday, when Ariana Grande and her friends return to the stage, the world will stand united with families in Manchester and across the United Kingdom,” stated Ben Sherwood, president, Disney|ABC Television Group and co-chairman, Disney Media Networks. “ABC and Freeform look forward to sharing the music community’s message of love, hope and resilience.”


The concert set to take place at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Grounds in Manchester, England. Free tickets were distributed to Ariana Grande fans who attended her concert in Manchester, with additional tickets sold to benefit the “We Love Manchester Emergency Fund” established by the Manchester City Council and the British Red Cross. “Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy. So that is what it will continue to do for us. We will continue to honour the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans and all affected by this tragedy,” said Grande.

“This benefit concert is a gesture of solidarity by Ariana Grande and the many other stars who have pledged their involvement. It will help raise funds to support the survivors and the families who tragically lost someone last week. This event is an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate things that unite us – music, humanity and the will to do something to help others,” stated Mike Adamson, chief executive of British Red Cross.




‘The Last Tycoon’ Debuts a Trailer and Announces a July Premiere Date

Amazon has set a July 28, 2017 premiere date for the new dramatic series The Last Tycoon based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s last work. The series, which just debuted its first trailer, stars Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer and Lily Collins. Billy Ray (Captain Phillips) wrote and directed the nine-episode first season, and he serves as an executive producer along with Christopher Keyser, Joshua D. Maurer, Alixandre Witlin, David A. Stern, and Scott Hornbacher.

The Last Tycoon cast also includes Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land), Dominique McElligott (House of Cards), Enzo Cilenti (The Martian), Mark O’Brien (Arrival), and Koen De Bouw. Jennifer Beals (Taken), Saul Rubinek (Unforgiven), and Eion Bailey (Once Upon a Time) guest star.

“It’s thrilling to watch F. Scott Fitzgerald’s extraordinary work brought to life through the eyes of Billy and Chris, and this incredible cast,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy, Drama and VR, Amazon Studios. “This great team has created a stunning portrayal of 1930s Hollywood. We’re excited to share the series with Prime members this summer.”

The Plot: From F. Scott Fitzgerald’s last work, which celebrated its 75th-anniversary last year, The Last Tycoon — inspired by the life of legendary film mogul Irving Thalberg — follows Hollywood’s Golden Boy, Monroe Stahr (Bomer) as he battles father figure and boss, Pat Brady (Grammer) for the soul of their studio. In a world darkened by the Great Depression and the growing international influence of Hitler’s Germany, The Last Tycoon illuminates the passions, violence, and towering ambition of 1930’s Hollywood.





‘Baby Driver’ New Trailer: Cool Tunes, Shootouts, and Crazy Car Stunts

Writer/director Edgar Wright’s high octane action thriller Baby Driver just released another new trailer in support of the film’s upcoming theatrical release on June 28, 2017. One of this summer’s most anticipated films (that doesn’t involve a costumed superhero), Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Jon Bernthal, Eiza Gonzalez, Jon Hamm, and Jamie Foxx.

Baby Driver was produced by Nira Park, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, with Edgar Wright, Adam Merims, Rachel Prior, Liza Chasin, and Michelle Wright executive producing. The music-driven film had its premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March 2017 and is currently sitting at 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Plot: A talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

‘Still Star-Crossed’ Season 1 Episode 2 Preview: Plot, Photos, and Trailer

ABC’s new drama Still Star-Crossed has unveiled details on the upcoming second episode of season one set to air on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT. Episode two, titled ‘The Course of True Love Never Did Run Smooth,’ was directed by Jonathan Jones from a script by Raamla Mohamed. The guest cast includes Michael Sheldon as Lord Grimaldi, Michael Dozie as Lord Ruspoli, Julio Perillan as Matteo, Lily Travers as Stella, and Ross Ellis as Jacopo.

Still Star-Crossed stars Grant Bowler as Lord Damiano Montague, Wade Briggs as Benvolio Montague, Torrance Coombs as Count Paris, Dan Hildebrand as Friar Lawrence, Lashana Lynch as Rosaline Capulet, Ebonee Noel as Livia Capulet, Medalion Rahimi as Princess Isabella, Zuleikha Robinson as Lady Guiliana Capulet, Sterling Sulieman as Prince Escalus, Susan Wooldridge as Nurse and Anthony Head as Lord Silvestro Capulet. ‘The Course of True Love Never Did Run Smooth’ Plot:  With Verona in crisis, Rosaline and Benvolio have no choice but to follow Prince Escalus’ decree to marry one another in an effort to restore peace, which Rosaline struggles to accept. Lady Capulet continues to mourn Juliet’s death, but unsettled by the way she died, is determined to figure out what or who influenced Juliet’s decision. Meanwhile, Livia and the nurse work tirelessly, hiding a secret of their own.

AMC’s ‘Loaded’ Gets a Trailer and a July Premiere Date

AMC will launch the new comedy series Loaded on July 17, 2017 following a new episode of Preacher season two. In addition to announcing the premiere date, the network also released the first trailer for the series starring Jim Howick (The Aliens), Samuel Anderson (The History Boys), Jonny Sweet (Babylon), Nick Helm (Funny Valentines) and Mary McCormack (The West Wing). Loaded was created by Muli Segev and Assaf Harel and is based on the award-winning series Mesudarim. Segev, Harel, Kate Norrish, Polly Leys, Howard Burch, Avi Nir, and Jon Brown are the executive producers.

Loaded‘s first season will consist of eight episodes.

The Plot: Loaded centers around the lives of Josh (Howick), Leon (Anderson), Ewan (Sweet) and Watto (Helm) who have just sold their start up videogame company Idyl Hands to Casey (McCormack) for millions, and overnight their lives change drastically. The four 30-somethings must answer to their high powered, no-bullshit boss Casey and are suddenly transformed from “people who play games” to “serious players in the game.” Amid a raging hurricane of money, excess, and “Millionaire guilt,” Loaded is about friendship, gluttony, ambition, and how money can put even life-long relationships to the test.





‘Sharknado 5’ Title, Tagline and Cameos Announced

Syfy’s officially announced the title of the 2017 Sharknado installment. The fifth film in the campy flying shark franchise will be Sharknado 5: Global Swarming and its tagline is “Make America Bait Again.” The network also confirmed the celebrities who will be putting in cameo appearances in the upcoming film.

Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is set to premiere on August 6, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT. Ian Ziering is reprising his role as Fin Shepard and Tara Reid is back as Fin’s wife, April. Returning cast members also include Cassie Scerbo, Masiela Lusha and Cody Linley.


The Plot: In Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, the mission gets personal for Fin Shepard (Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Reid) when their young son gets trapped in a traveling ‘nado and transported all over the world. From London to Rio, Tokyo, Rome, Amsterdam and beyond, our globetrotting heroes will seek assistance from a highly-skilled squad of royals, scholars and Olympians, enlisting famous faces from news, entertainment, and sports in their most epic battle yet.

‘The Book of Henry’ New Clip Featuring Naomi Watts and Sarah Silverman

Naomi Watts, Jacob Tremblay, Jaeden Lieberher, and Sarah Silverman star in the just-released new clip from The Book of Henry. Directed by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World, Safety Not Guaranteed) from a screenplay by Gregg Hurwitz (Orphan X), The Book of Henry also features Lee Pace, Maddie Ziegler, and Dean Norris.

Focus Features will release the dramatic thriller in select cities on June 16, 2017.

The Plot: Sometimes things are not always what they seem, especially in the small suburban town where the Carpenter family lives. Single suburban mother Susan Carpenter (Naomi Watts) works as a waitress at a diner, alongside feisty family friend Sheila (Sarah Silverman). Her younger son Peter (Jacob Tremblay) is a playful 8-year-old. Taking care of everyone and everything in his own unique way is Susan’s older son Henry (Jaeden Lieberher), age 11. Protector to his adoring younger brother and tireless supporter of his often self-doubting mother – and, through investments, of the family as a whole – Henry blazes through the days like a comet.

Susan discovers that the family next door, which includes Henry’s kind classmate Christina (Maddie Ziegler), has a dangerous secret – and that Henry has devised a surprising plan to help. As his brainstormed rescue plan for Christina takes shape in thrilling ways, Susan finds herself at the center of it.




Brendan Fraser Joins FX’s ‘Trust’ Limited Series

The cast of FX’s upcoming limited series Trust, based on the true story of John Paul Getty III’s kidnapping, has expanded by one. The network announced Brendan Fraser (The Mummy franchise, Crash) has joined the cast and will play James Fletcher Chace, “J. Paul Getty’s private investigator. Hailing from Texas, Chace is an eccentric but also a master fixer.”

Fraser joins previously announced Trust cast members Donald Sutherland as J. Paul Getty, Hilary Swank as J. Paul Getty III’s mother, and Harris Dickinson as J. Paul Getty III. The 10-episode limited series is written by Simon Beaufoy and directed by Danny Boyle, the team behind 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire. Boyle and Beaufoy also executive produce along with Christian Colson.

Filming’s expected to get underway this month, with FX targeting a January 2018 premiere.

The Plot: Equal parts family history, dynastic saga, and examination of the corrosive power of money, Trust is a story that attempts to unlock the mystery at the heart of every family, rich or poor.

The first installment of Trust tells the story of John Paul Getty III, heir to the Getty oil fortune. It is set in 1973, when the young Getty is kidnapped in Rome and his mafia captors are banking on a multi-million dollar ransom. After all, what rich family wouldn’t pay for the return of a loved one? Trust charts the young man’s nightmare ordeal at the hands of kidnappers who cannot understand why nobody seems to want their captive back. The Italian police think it’s a prank and decline to investigate.

Paul’s father is lost in a heroin daze in London and refuses to answer the phone. Paul’s grandfather – possibly the richest man in the world – is marooned in a Tudor mansion in the English countryside surrounded by five mistresses and a pet lion. He’s busy. Only Paul’s mother is left to negotiate with increasingly desperate kidnappers. Problem is, she’s broke.

A new trailer’s just arrived for psychological thriller It Comes at Night starring Joel Edgerton (Loving, The Gift). A24’s set a June 9, 2017 theatrical release date for the horror film written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and co-starring Riley Keough, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

The Plot: Imagine the end of the world— Now imagine something worse. Award-winning filmmaker Trey Edward Shults follows his incredible debut feature Krisha with It Comes at Night, a horror film following a man (Joel Edgerton) as he is learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within.

Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge. Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.

20th Century Fox just debuted the first trailer and poster for the star-studded Murder on the Orient Express, based on Agatha Christie’s bestselling novel. Kenneth Branagh (Cinderella, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) directs and stars in the murder mystery set on board a train. The cast of the 2017 adaptation also includes Tom Bateman, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Marwan Kenzari, Olivia Colman, Lucy Boynton, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Sergei Polunin.

Michael Green adapted Christie’s novel for the screen. Ridley Scott, Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, and Michael Schaefer produced, with Agatha Christie Ltd.’s James Prichard and Hilary Strong executive producing. Fox has set a November 10, 2017 theatrical release date.

The Plot: What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, Murder on the Orient Express tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.
