Lucifer‘s final season two episode before the popular Fox series takes a three month break picks up with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) driving like a maniac to get his partner to the hospital. Chloe (Lauren German) can’t believe she’s been poisoned and tells Lucifer if they don’t find an antidote, she’ll die. She doesn’t want to go to the hospital; she wants to find the cure.

Instead of the hospital, Lucifer and Chloe head to the station to look through the files for any info on the antidote. Ella (Aimee Garcia) shows up looking as if she was yanked out of bed to help the partners who, at first, lie about the possibility of there being another victim. Chloe doesn’t want to tell Ella the truth, thinking she’ll freak out, but Lucifer feels they should. Ella reveals she found a syringe on the scene with a little poison in it, so there’s a possibility someone was dosed. Plus, she found a vial that might have had the antidote, but its contents were destroyed. Ella describes what will happen to the victim in vivid detail while Chloe looks sick.

While Chloe and Ella go over all the evidence, Amenadiel (DB Woodside) shows up and Lucifer hits him. He thinks Chloe’s death could be part of their dad’s plans. Amenadiel says he didn’t know he was putting Chloe in Lucifer’s path, claiming to be just another pawn in the game. He also tells Lucifer that Chloe isn’t aware of any of this. Amenadiel admits he’s been played and so has Lucifer, and all he’s done is spend his existence trying to make his father proud. He’s pissed he was used to make Lucifer a girlfriend, telling his brother they’re on the same side. Lucifer wants to know how deep the plan goes and if the poisoning is part of it. Amenadiel doesn’t know anything about that and Chloe interrupts to say she has an idea.

Chloe thinks maybe Burt (Joe Williamson) was also smuggling the antidotes and they can track him using his ankle bracelet.

Burt’s throwing a wild party, celebrating being released from custody. Chloe bumps into him and he remembers her from the beach party. She asks to see his bedroom and her nose starts bleeding which turns him off. Chloe resorts to violence to get him into his bedroom where Lucifer awaits. Lucifer flashes his Devil eyes again, and Burt screams. The last time they saw each other, Burt begged to be taken away from Lucifer after seeing his real face.

Burt’s still screaming as Lucifer emerges from the bedroom with the bad news he didn’t smuggle the antidote. But, there is a middleman, Dave Maddox, they can track down. Chloe continues bleeding from the nose and faints.

Dan (Kevin Alejandro) is super pissed at Lucifer for not bringing Chloe straight to the hospital as soon as he learned she’s sick. They bicker a bit and Chloe wakes up, angry she’s in the hospital. Dan pledges to take it from there and Lucifer adds, “Yes, we will,” so now we’re back to the team of Detective Douche and the Devil.

Dan warns Lucifer to follow his lead, telling Lucifer the art on the walls is just a cover for illegal deals. Dan spots Dave Maddox, getting his attention by telling him they have to talk about Professor Jason Carlisle. After Dave makes a horrible joke about letting Dan’s ex-wife die, Dan punches him in the face. Dan’s goons hold them at gunpoint and then handcuff both Dan and Lucifer before beating Dan. Since he’s following Dan’s lead, Lucifer asks if he’s supposed to let them punch him too, and Dan tells him no. Lucifer says, “So, this is not some elaborate game of bloody possum?” When Dan says no again, Lucifer lets himself out of his handcuffs and Dan can’t believe Lucifer let them beat the crap out of him without stepping in. Lucifer reminds him he promised not to act without Dan’s permission. Lucifer knocks out the goons and when Dave returns with a bat, Lucifer makes him put it down and uses his Jedi mind trick to find out what Dave wants. And that is…someone to actually like his art. He wants to be treated like a real artist and Lucifer says they can come to an arrangement. Lucifer buys a painting and Dave hands over the list of antidote ingredients but not the formula. Only the professor had that formula, but he’s dead.

Back at the hospital, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) tells Lucifer she’s sorry about Chloe. Lucifer admits he can’t even go into Chloe’s hospital room because he doesn’t want to tell her it’s hopeless. Charlotte reminds him that at least the professor is in Hell, and Lucifer gets excited, realizing he can visit Hell and talk to the professor. All he has to do is die.

#TeamLucifer gathers at Lucifer’s place where he goes over his plan. They’ll kill him, he’ll go to Hell, get the formula, and then they’ll bring him back. Charlotte, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt), and Amenadiel think this is a crazy idea and Charlotte forbids it. Maze agrees because she can’t go with him, and he’ll be stranded without any backup. Amenadiel reminds him father brought him back last time, and Maze says he can’t go through any of the doors in Hell or he’ll be trapped. Lucifer turns to Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris) for support, and she says she only followed half of the conversation. Amenadiel realizes Lucifer told Dr. Linda their secrets and is mad no one let him know – he’s the only one in the room who didn’t come clean to Dr. Linda.

Dr. Linda asks if there’s any possibility he’d go to Heaven, and Lucifer is certain that’s not possible since he’s banned from there. Also, is dying the only way he can get to Hell? Charlotte’s had enough of the discussion and wants to leave but Amenadiel says Chloe doesn’t deserve this, so he’s sticking around to help. Maze is also in, but Charlotte still won’t support her son. Dr. Linda asks what her part is in this plan and Lucifer says she’ll bring him back from the dead. Both Amenadiel and Maze offer to kill him, not even hesitating when he asks for a volunteer.

Lucifer rushes to the hospital and tells Dan to gather the ingredients. When Lucifer checks through the window on Chloe, she’s curled up in bed with Trixie. Meanwhile, Maze complains about the “boxy” doctor’s scrubs as she and Dr. Linda find the hospital room directly below Chloe’s. Amenadiel is going to watch over Chloe and make sure no one moves her so that Lucifer is killable. But, Amenadiel also has to make sure she doesn’t move as long as Lucifer’s dead in case she has to be there so he can come back.

Ella and Dan work on the ingredients and they have just one left, a rare (and illegal) substance called ZX3. It’s used for making cars go faster and Ella knows where there’s a black market stash of it locked up. They decide they will break in and steal it since they have no other options.

Maze and Dr. Linda prepare Lucifer to have his heart zapped with the defibrillator. Dr. Linda’s only giving him 60 seconds and Maze reminds him time moves much slower in Hell. Dr. Linda and Lucifer get in a bit of a shouting match about why she’s doing this, and then Maze holds the paddles to zap him – but can’t go through with it. She wants Linda to do it, but they made a deal the doctor would bring him back so Maze has to kill him. Lucifer takes matters into his own hands and zaps himself. Dead on Earth, Lucifer walks through Hell.

Amenadiel finally gets to meet Trixie and seems just as taken with her as Lucifer. Trixie’s super worried about her mom and wonders why there are bad people in the world. Amenadiel says there are more good people than bad, and she gives Amenadiel a hug telling him he’s one of the good ones.

Lucifer watches Professor Jason Carlisle relive the car crash followed by a confrontation with an angry mob. Lucifer explains to Jason that he’s in Hell and that’s why he keeps reliving the accident over and over again. Lucifer’s never seen anyone pull themselves out of Hell, but if he makes amends, he might be able to. If he gives Lucifer the formula, then maybe his guilt will be alleviated. The professor hands the formula to Lucifer who walks through the mob. He shows Jason his real face before the mob descends on the professor yet again.

Formula in hand, he wonders where his resurrection is and sees a door. It leads him to his brother, Uriel (Michael Imperioli), playing the piano. Lucifer hugs him, but Uriel doesn’t hug back. Uriel tells his brother he doesn’t deserve to be in Hell, but Lucifer does. Lucifer has Azrael’s blade in his hand and stabs Uriel again. Now it’s Lucifer’s turn to relive his worst memory and try and work through his guilt.

Dr. Linda tries to zap Lucifer back to life, but nothing happens.

Dan and Ella sneak into the building to look for the final ingredient. Ella’s got a lot of illegal skills including lock picking, but they’re caught in the act and held at gunpoint.

Lucifer keeps stabbing Uriel and screams, “I don’t want this!” Uriel reminds him he didn’t even follow up on what he whispered in his ear when he was dying: “The peace is here.” Lucifer thought it was nonsense. His last words were a clue and Lucifer has to figure it out for himself. Uriel tells him he’s never getting out of Hell.

Chloe’s not doing well and Trixie is rushed from the room as her mom has a seizure.

Maze figures out Lucifer is trapped in a cell in Hell and that’s why they can’t bring him back. Someone has to pull him out, but she can’t because she doesn’t have a soul. Dr. Linda volunteers to go but Maze thinks Linda would go to Heaven. Charlotte barges in just then and says, “Send me.” Hell wants her back and she’s been resisting, but she would die a thousand deaths to rescue Lucifer. Maze doesn’t even think about it this time, zapping Charlotte while she’s still talking.

The doctor and nurses work on Chloe and have to move her to CT, but Amenadiel won’t let them leave. The doctor calls for security.

Ella knows the guy and convinces him to put down his gun. Turns out he’s Ella’s brother and he wanted to keep his stuff away from his law enforcement sister. Ella begs him for the ZX3, telling him it’s for a dying friend. That convinces him and he gives it up to his sister.

Lucifer keeps apologizing and saying he has no choice as he stabs Uriel. Charlotte arrives, telling him she’s there to rescue him. He doesn’t belong in Hell and Uriel isn’t real. Charlotte tries to convince Lucifer it’s not his fault and then realizes it’s hers. She confesses she’s been manipulating Lucifer, stoking his anger against his father, and pushing him into Chloe’s arms. When Charlotte says Chloe’s name, Lucifer comes to himself and says they have to leave so they can save the detective. Lucifer drags Charlotte away from Uriel, even though she doesn’t want to go. She begs him to let her stay.

At the hospital, the security guards wrestle with Amenadiel as Dr. Linda continues to zap Lucifer. Amenadiel tosses the guards from the room and blocks Chloe’s door as Dr. Linda finally brings Lucifer back. Maze brings Charlotte back as Lucifer stumbles from the room. Amenadiel has kept his promise and now Lucifer’s back, so Chloe can finally be moved.

Chloe wakes up and Lucifer welcomes her back. She heard Lucifer saved her, but he says it was a team effort. She wants to pick up where they left off, but Lucifer tells her she needs to work on feeling better. He ever so slightly shakes his head yes when she asks if they’ll talk later.

Lucifer takes a walk outside the hospital and Charlotte catches up with him to ask how Chloe’s doing. He still can’t believe dad set this whole thing up and nothing was real. He calls his relationship with Chloe a sham, a “long con,” and wants to get back at his dad. He can’t trust anyone and he thinks Charlotte doesn’t love him. She reminds him she went to Hell to help him, but he’s done with her manipulations. He won’t be part of a feud between his mother and father. He says he’s done and walks away.

Chloe is driving while leaving what she says is voicemail #337 for Lucifer. He won’t call her back, so she’s heading to his place. When she arrives, everything has been covered with sheets and no one’s there. Her voice breaks as she calls out, “Lucifer?”

‘Gotham’ Season 3 Episode 14 Recap: Jerome’s on the Loose

Jerome signaled his return as a villain to be reckoned with by blowing up the power plant in Fox’s Gotham season three episode 13. In episode 14 airing January 30, 2017 and titled ‘The Gentle Art of Making Enemies,’ the freaks are taking over the GCPD headquarters, attacking cops and firebombing the station after being inspired by their resurrected hero, Jerome.

Oswald’s search for his BFF Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) has finally paid off, and the two are reunited with a one-sided hug. Ed kills Oswald’s goons and Oswald (Robin Lord Taylor) freaks out, clearing not understanding he’s been played by Ed. Ed confesses he kidnapped himself and shows Oswald Isabella’s wrecked car, explaining that now he’s taken everything from Penguin in retribution for her death.

The city of Gotham is cloaked in darkness and the Court of Owls may have to step in.

At the police station, Jim (Ben McKenzie) gets word of riots and mobs of Jerome’s freaks taking over parts of the town. Harvey (Donal Logue) is shocked to learn the lights won’t be back on until tomorrow at the earliest, and Jim says they have to take out Jerome to calm the rioting. Jim figures out they should talk to Lee to see what it was that Jerome wanted to do now that he’s returned. That will give them a good idea of where to start the search.

Ed ties Oswald to the hood of Isabella’s car, telling Oswald the man he thought was his dead father was just a guy Ed hired to impersonate him. He yells, “Ghosts aren’t real!” and confesses he put Oswald’s dad’s remains in a dumpster instead of returning his body to his grave. Oswald says he forgives him, admitting he killed Isabella. Ed thinks he would have been happy with Isabella but Oswald knows he would have just killed her eventually. Oswald proclaims his love for Ed, but Ed absolutely does not want to hear it.

Acid hangs above Oswald’s head, poised to pour down on his body once the ice holding it in place melts. Oswald screams as Ed leaves him to die.

Jim catches up with Lee (Morena Baccarin) who’s examining injured citizens, and her icy tone indicates nothing has changed in their relationship. She tells him Jerome wanted his face back, asked about their romance, and that he mentioned Bruce Wayne and not being able to finish the job of killing him. Lee says she’ll call Alfred as Bruce heads over to the Wayne Manor.

Alfred (Sean Pertwee) doesn’t pick up the phone before it stops ringing and is too late in reacting when he’s knocked down by Jerome’s gang members. With his newly stapled face in place, Jerome bends down to Bruce’s level and says, “My, my, look how big you’ve gotten!”

The freaks are tearing up Wayne Manor when one walks up with the glass owl. Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) notices how Bruce’s eyes perk up and asks for the owl, which Bruce claims is worthless. He drops it but it doesn’t shatter so he tosses it again and it does. Jerome lets Bruce know he’s there to kill him, saying it was the last thing he wanted to do before he died. Bruce says he was a showman when he took over the benefit, playing on Jerome’s theatricality and saying it would be a letdown to just be killed in Wayne Manor with no one watching. Bruce suggests killing him should mean something and there should be an audience. Jerome knows what Bruce is doing, but agrees anyway. He says he knows just the spot for Bruce’s murder. Jerome orders Alfred killed and Bruce says, “I will see you again!” “You carry on, son. You carry on,” replies Alfred.

Oswald is screaming for help as the ice melts and the acid begins dripping down onto the car’s hood. A cop arrives and delays rescuing Oswald until the last second. As he’s freed, the acid pours onto the car’s roof.

Back at Wayne Manor, Jim’s arrived and is hiding in the doorway as Alfred talks to the three men left to kill him, describing their weapons and locations as if he’s just carrying on a normal conversation. Jim comes in firing, taking down two while Alfred takes care of the bad guy with the machete. They head out to try and track Jerome.

Jerome and his freaks bring Bruce to the circus which, strangely, has lights, music, and working rides even though the electricity is supposed to be out across the city.

Jim and Alfred have no idea where Jerome would have taken Bruce, and Harvey’s not much help when he reels off a list of potential sightings called in by concerned citizens. However, when he mentions the circus on the boardwalk, Jim knows that’s where Jerome has gone because he was raised in a circus.

They paint a clown face on Bruce and Jerome stabs one of his followers to use his blood to paint a frown on Bruce’s face.

Oswald makes it home only to discover Tabitha (Jessica Lucas) and Butch (Drew Powell) are already there, waiting for him. They demand to know where Nygma is, and Tabitha has to remind Butch they’re supposed to bring Nygma in alive. They decide to take Oswald back to see Barbara.

Jerome and Bruce engage in an argument over the citizens of Gotham, with Jerome saying all it took was the lights going out for them to want to bathe in Bruce’s blood. Bruce disagrees, claiming there are good people in Gotham. Jerome responds, “Face it, kid. Gotham has no heroes.” Bruce seems to take that to heart and he pushes Jerome before he can kill an innocent citizen. It’s only a temporary save though as Jerome still winds up killing the guy, while Bruce watches in horror.

Jerome has to staple the upper edge of his face as it’s falling off and when Bruce asks him if it hurts, Jerome replies, “Not much. You try.” He repeatedly staples Bruce’s arm but Bruce doesn’t cry out or flinch until the third staple. (These scenes with Cameron Monaghan and David Mazouz are terrific!)

Jim, Alfred, and Harvey arrive at the circus but their back-up is a few minutes behind. They can’t wait so they enter without them.

Jerome takes center stage to the cheers of his adoring followers. Bruce is brought in handcuffed to a pole. The canon is brought within feet of his body and the crowd cheers, “Boom! Boom! Boom!” A cannonball is loaded followed by dozens of knives and a bucket of nails. Bruce struggles to free himself as Jerome climbs on the cannon.

Jim, Alfred, and Harvey arrive in time to see Jerome waving to his fans while seated on the cannon. Jim fires a shot in the air, silencing Jerome’s people. Jim’s backup arrives, with the cops ordering everyone to stay put. Jim, Alfred, and Harvey fight their way through the crowd as Jerome lights the fuse. He waves goodbye to Bruce who’s still struggling to free himself.

The cannon fires but Bruce isn’t attached to the pole. Jim tells Alfred to find Bruce while he says he’ll go after Jerome.

Tabitha and Butch deliver Oswald to Barbara (Erin Richards), and Oswald is piecing together her plan. He knows that if he helps her locate Ed, it might make his own situation less dire.

Back at the circus, Jerome is hunting Bruce and sees him disappear into the hall of mirrors, which leads to some really cool camera angles as they chase each other and play chicken. Bruce tells Jerome he wanted him to follow, declaring Jerome will pay for what he’s done.

Barbara tells Oswald to call Ed and find out where he is. She can’t do it herself because he must have realized they don’t need him anymore. Oswald has figured out that maybe he didn’t actually love Ed, but he still killed Isabella. “I should have been able to sacrifice my happiness for his, but I couldn’t.” However, now he can sacrifice himself rather than give up Ed’s location. Barbara acts angry and just then Ed walks in. Oswald finally figures out they’re in it together and asks why. Ed said he wanted Oswald to die knowing he couldn’t love anyone, and Oswald starts laughing/crying and says he just proved he can love someone. Ed seems confused about what to do next.

Back at the hall of mirrors, Jerome tells Bruce they make a good team. Bruce reminds him he killed Alfred so no thanks to the team offer. Jerome tosses his gun across the floor and draws his knife. Bruce attacks and now they’re battling it out, hand to hand. Bruce beats him across the face and is about to stab him when he sees himself in the mirror holding the shard of glass. Bruce can’t kill Jerome and screams in frustration. He gets up and leaves Jerome on the floor, laughing.

Emerging from the hall of mirrors, Bruce sees Alfred and runs to him. They hug, and Bruce can’t believe Alfred is still alive.

Jerome stumbles out of the hall of mirrors ready to stab Bruce and/or Alfred when Jim intercepts him. He punches Jerome, knocking his face askew and finally all the way off. Jerome lands on his back, laughing but in pain.

At the station, Harvey concedes that even if Jim had shot him, Jerome would have probably come back from the dead. The rioting outside has finally calmed down now that Jerome’s been arrested.

Alfred cleans up Bruce’s wounds and wipes off the clown makeup, telling his young charge he doesn’t like clowns. Bruce confesses he thought Alfred was dead and Alfred reveals what he was thinking as Jerome led Bruce away was how proud he is of the man Bruce is emerging into. Bruce admits he wanted to kill Jerome because it felt right to do so. “It felt like justice,” says Bruce. Alfred reminds him there’s a fine line between justice and vengeance. Bruce is aware of that and knew where the line was while he was dealing with Jerome. Alfred is obviously even more proud of Bruce for restraining himself than he was before, but then he asks what he intends to do with all this training he’s receiving. Bruce says he doesn’t know and Alfred tells him he’ll need rules that he’ll never break, no matter the circumstance. Bruce says, quietly, “I will not kill.” Alfred tells him to say it again and he does so, with stronger conviction.

The Court of Owls’ Kathryn tells Bruce’s doppelganger they’ll be calling on him soon to act. Bruce says he’s still not sure how he can help save Gotham and a man says he knows what must be done and doesn’t doubt that “he” will do it.

Jim finally makes it home and pours himself a drink. He’s interrupted by a knock on the door and it’s Jim’s uncle, Frank – the man from the Court of Owls.

Ed holds a gun on Oswald by the river. Oswald says if he kills him, it will be the cold-blooded murder of someone he loves. Oswald yells, “You need me, Edward Nygma. Just as I need you! You cannot have one without the other.” Ed keeps repeating that Oswald killed Isabella and so he wants Oswald to suffer and die. Oswald says he created Edward Nygma out of nothing, and he’s the only one who sees Ed as he truly is. Oswald tells Ed he can’t kill him and Ed, again, says he loved Isabella and Oswald killed her. He shoots Oswald in the stomach and pushes him into the river. The water around Oswald fills with blood as Oswald sinks.

Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery, and adventure await them on the path to reunion. And the question remains: when they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?

Along with Bernal and Kirke, Mozart in the Jungle also stars Saffron Burrows (Night of the Lotus), Malcolm McDowell (American Satan), Bernadette Peters (Smash), and Hannah Dunne (Caring).

The Red Oaks Plot: Set in the 1980s, Red Oaks explores the comic misadventures of the misfit staffers and clueless members of a country club in suburban New Jersey. Starring Craig Roberts (Submarine: The Fundamentals of Caregiving) and Paul Reiser (Mad About You), Red Oaks will begin production later this year on its third and final season, concluding the stories of aspiring young filmmaker David Meyers and the colorful characters he’s met on his journey to adulthood.

Starring alongside Roberts and Reiser is a talented ensemble cast including Richard Kind (Inside Out), Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), Alexandra Socha (Cut Shoot Kill), Oliver Cooper (Office Christmas Party), Ennis Esmer (Blindspot), Gina Gershon (Staten Island Summer) and Alexandra Turschen (Boy Meets Girl). The series was created by Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike XXL) and Joe Gangemi (Stonehearst Asylum), and is executive produced by Jacobs and Gangemi with Steven Soderbergh (The Knick) and David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express).

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2017 – The Winners

The Screen Actors Guild Awards held on January 29, 2017 managed to pull off a few surprises including a win for Denzel Washington in a category most thought would go to Casey Affleck, two acting wins for The Crown, only one for The People v. O.J. Simpson, and Stranger Things pulling off an upset against Game of Thrones, Westworld, Downton Abbey, and The Crown. Most of this year’s SAG Awards winners used part of their allotted time on stage to call out President Trump, and Stranger Things‘ David Harbour delivered a speech that will go down in SAG history as one of the awards show’s best.

The SAG Awards are voted on by the 121,546 members of SAG-AFTRA.

The CW’s The Vampire Diaries season eight episode 10 was one of the best so far this final season, with a batch of familiar faces returning for cameos. No Nina Dobrev yet – she won’t be back until the season finale – but we did get to see Kayla Ewell as Vicki Donovan, Marguerite MacIntyre as Sheriff Forbes, Michael Trevino as Tyler, and Jasmine Guy as Bonnie’s beloved grandmother. Episode 11 titled ‘You Made a Choice to Be Good’ and airing on February 3, 2017 may not bring back any long-lost characters, but The Vampire Diaries newbie Wolé Parks as Cade will figure prominently in the storyline.

The cast of season eight includes Paul Wesley as Stefan, Ian Somerhalder as Damon, Kat Graham as Bonnie, Michael Malarkey as Enzo, Candice King as Caroline, Matt Davis as Alaric, and Zach Roerig as Matt. Carol Banker directed the episode from a script by Melinda Hsu Taylor and Celine Geiger.

The ‘You Made a Choice to Be Good’ Plot: WHEN EVIL RETURNS – Cade (guest star Wolé Parks) returns to Mystic Falls and presents Damon (Somerhalder) and Stefan (Wesley) with additional assignments, each with unthinkable consequences. Even with tension growing in their friendship, Caroline (King) and Matt (Roerig) do their best to protect the town’s residents from Cade’s appetite for their souls. Bonnie (Graham) and Enzo (Malarkey) hit the road on a romantic trip, taking the bell with them in hopes to keep it safe.
