The CW’s Arrow is in the middle of its strongest season in three years, with the show returning to what made it so popular originally (and with romance on the back burner). Arrow season five episode seven is set to air on November 16, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT with Dolph Lundgren continuing his multi-episode arc. Titled ‘Vigilante,’ episode seven was directed by Gordon Verheul and stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog, Joe Dinicol as Rory Regan/Ragman, Madison McLaughlin as Evelyn Sharp/Artemis, Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance, and Willa Holland as Thea.

The ‘Vigilante’ Plot: DOLPH LUNDGREN “ROCKY” GUEST STARS – When the bodies of two criminals are dropped at SCPD, Oliver (Amell) realizes there is a new Vigilante in Star City. The team is split about whether they should stop someone who is helping keep the city safe. Diggle (Ramsey) is frustrated with his new situation and Thea (Willa Holland) fights for Lance (Blackthorne) who confesses a shocking secret. Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Oliver finally sits down with Konstantin Kovar (guest star Dolph Lundgren).

‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Episode 5 Recap: ‘The One You’ve Been Waiting For’

Supernatural Season 12 Episode 5 Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki

The Thule has returned in the fifth episode of season 12 of Supernatural. As a reminder, we’ve seen them before. Think big golem, Nazi necromancers, and a young guy named Aaron (Adam Rose) who had not prepared for his legacy and hopefully you’ll be ready for this episode.

It begins as an older lady enters an antique shop in Ohio and speaks to the shop owner. He has the item she was looking for, a pocket watch with an eagle and swastika. Only the transaction isn’t easy as the shop owner tries to get more money than agreed and the woman is not too happy about it. Refusing the deal, things get worse when the shop owner begins to burn, eventually bursting into flames. Deciding to get her item and leave, she picks the watch up and suffers the same fate. In the shadows, a man has watched the entire event.

We next find Dean (Jensen Ackles) focused on his laptop. Sam (Jared Padalecki) walks in, offering to cook, but we are all left in shock as Dean is not interested in eating…even when offered pie! Sam figures it has to do with the Mom thing, only Dean seems cool with her leaving now. What Dean was actually so engrossed with is the story about the spontaneous combustion and he wants to go check out the situation, and Sam agrees.

By the time they show up at the antique shop, the cops have already come and gone, meaning they have to break in. They find the piles of ashes, yet no sulfur or EMF readings, leaving them to look for hex bags or information on a cursed item. On the computer, Sam finds information about the pocket watch on the store computer while Dean looks around, trying not to touch and break everything. He does find a hidden door though, leading to an office that’s practically a shrine to Nazis and Hitler. Sam joins Dean and explains that the watch belonged to a member of Hitler’s inner circle, reminding them of the Thule they’d already had a run-in with previously.

Next, we’re shown a couple entering an apartment while making out. That is until she begins to babble about her recent breakup among other topics, resulting in an awkward moment and causing her to flee to the bathroom. As she tries to regain her composure, a crash on the other side of the door gets her attention. The young woman cracks the door open just in time to see a couple of men in suits incinerate her date. Unluckily, the men spot her in the bathroom and she barely manages to lock the door before they get to her, climbing out the window and down the fire escape. The younger of the men seems about to shoot her while she runs down the alley, but the older man stops him, explaining that they need her alive. Besides, she cut herself on the windowsill, and the blood is all they need to find her.

Meanwhile, Dean and Sam are looking for information about the pocket watch. They call Aaron, who is in Berlin looking into the Thule. Aaron doesn’t know yet what they are up to, but he says it’s big. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know anything about the watch. Then the boys hear about the guy turned to ash, giving them another path to follow. At the apartment, they find out about the girl who survived, Ellie, and ask where she is. However, the Thule has found her first, taking off with her in the back of a police car as Dean and Sam walk out the door with the intent of asking her some questions too. Ellie (Allison Paige) is taken to a parking garage, where her abductor, the younger man from her apartment, calls the older man, his father. Dean and Sam had followed them though, pulling a gun on the guy, Christoph, and saving the girl.

As they tie Christoph (Keenan Tracey) up to a chair, they attempt to explain the situation with the Nazi necromancers to him. Not surprisingly, he’s a bit incredulous. At first, the Winchesters don’t have much more luck getting Christoph to tell them what the Thule wants with Ellie. Having a gun pressed to the back of your neck is pretty good incentive to spill your guts and he finally does talk. Christoph’s father, Nauhaus, was a high-ranking officer for Hitler and is one of the necromancers. He continues, telling a story about how his father stopped Hitler from committing suicide during the war, explaining that there was another way. The watch belonged to Nauhaus, and now contains Hitler’s soul so they could bring him back to life at some point in the future. That time is now, which is why they needed the watch back, and why they need Ellie. Hitler’s soul can only inhabit the body of someone that shares his blood, and the girl is his descendant.

Ellie feels there is no way that’s true, says her family can be tracked all the way back to the Mayflower. Christoph turns her world around when he reveals that she’s adopted, sharing they’ve watched her throughout her life, reiterating her entire life to prove his point. She runs out of the room, texting her mother, and from the response received, realizes Christoph was telling the truth. Understandably, she hates the knowledge, not wanting to be related to Hitler. While Sam tries to make her feel better, Dean comes in with a plan to have her play along so they can take out the Thule once and for all.

They don’t get the opportunity to come up with more of a plan, because the necromancers show up and a big fight begins while Ellie hides. A fight where it really looks like our boys are going to lose until the bad guys hear a message that makes them leave in a hurry. When Dean and Sam go to check on Ellie, she’s not there, having climbed out the window again. This time, her escape doesn’t go so well and before she gets very far, Nauhaus (Gil Darnell) nabs her.

The brothers try calling her with no luck, leaving her a voicemail that Nauhaus listens to and realizes how much Christoph revealed. He’s disgusted with his son and unhappy that the Winchesters know their plan. They argue, yet Nauhaus gets the final word, saying the world is weak, and there’s never been a better time for Hitler to come back.

When they arrive to their destination, a private hangar with a waiting plane, Ellie is removed from the car and strapped to a table. Walking away, Nauhaus tells his minion to get rid of his son. Christoph can’t believe he’s about to get killed, but gets lucky when the goon is distracted by a call, allowing him to fight back, get the gun and shoot the man.

Next, we see the boys at a restaurant having hit a wall trying to find anything on the traffic cams that would lead them to Ellie. They are both surprised when Christoph slides into their booth, telling them if they want to save Ellie, they have to protect him. He explains he killed one of his father’s men, yet they still suspect it could be a trap until the young man convinces them he’s telling the truth and will help them. So, they go to the hangar and handcuff Christoph to the steering wheel before preparing to go in. Dean so badly wants to take the grenade launcher and is heartbroken when Sam tells him no.

During this time, the Thule does find the body of their fellow necromancer, but completing his task is still more important to Nauhaus, so they begin their ritual to bring Hitler back. However, we find out that they aren’t putting Hitler into Ellie. Rather, they are putting her blood into Nauhaus, as in his eyes, he is more appropriate than a “weak American girl.” When he decides they have transferred enough blood, the pocket watch is placed on his chest. Metal legs emerge from the timepiece, spinning to create a swastika before embedding itself inside the man’s body.

Nauhaus opens his eyes again, only he is clearly no longer the man he was. Hitler has been brought back, only he’s not like we would expect. He is exuberant, hopping off the table and literally jumping for joy. The other necromancers are stunned by the way he is acting, although Hitler quickly shows that he can just as fast change to psychotic. He thanks Ellie, his great-great-grand-niece, before telling the other men to take the rest of her blood and give her to the dogs.

But the boys are on their way to save the day, right? Well, sort of. They are able to sneak into the hangar, then quickly get caught. They are taken to the overly-jubilant and easily angered Hitler, a bit thrown off as he’s not like they expected either. As he goes into a speech about how amazing cell phones are, Ellie manages to get free and shoot one of the men. Going quickly into action, Dean and Sam take care of the rest, except Hitler. First Dean punches him, knocking him to the ground, then gives us a much-needed one-liner of “Heil this,” before shooting him in the head. Sam comes over and tells him, “Dude, you killed Hitler.” To which Dean responds with his famous grin, “Awesome.”

As we see the boys leaving, Dean keeps repeating over and over that he killed Hitler. Of course, he’s proud. They do let Christoph out of the car, warning him to run because the rest of the Thule will be after him, then the boys take Ellie home where Sam makes sure she’s okay before returning to Dean. At least for now, all is right with the world as Dean makes it clear that his appetite is back. Leave it to Supernatural to make an episode revolving around bringing Hitler back from the dead somehow funny, in ways that a recap, unfortunately, can’t fully capture.

‘Outlander’ Casts Hannah James, Tanya Reynolds as Dunsany Sisters

Apparently the casting process isn’t quite complete for Starz’s Outlander season three. The network confirmed Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds have joined the cast as Geneva Dunsany and Isobel Dunsany, respectively. Season three of the popular dramatic series is based on Diana Gabaldon’s third book in the Outlander series, Voyager.

Filming is currently underway in Scotland and will eventually move to South Africa for shooting in 2017. Season three will consist of 13 one-hour episodes.

In addition to announcing the casting, Starz provided the following details on the Dunsany sisters:

– Eldest daughter Geneva is as beautiful as she is headstrong. Yet she’s also petulant, spoiled and demanding of the servants at their home- Helwater. Geneva’s accustomed to getting exactly what she wants when she wants it. Underneath however she has a vulnerability — even a naiveté — due to her sheltered life. Geneva will be played by Hannah James who attended the Guildford School of Acting in England and received her BA Honors in Acting.

She was signed with Bloomfields Welch Management in London during the spring of 2014 and became GSA’s Spotlight Nominee for that graduating year’s class. Several months later, she made the jump back across the pond to pursue her acting career in LA. After working with WME and Luber Roklin Management for three months, Hannah landed the role of Emma Green in Mercy Street, coincidentally filmed in her home state, just an hour from her childhood home in Virginia.

– Isobel, Geneva’s younger sister, is warm, friendly and genuine. Though more plain than her sister, Isobel is inherently more likeable and compassionate towards others. Tanya Reynolds, who will play Isobel, graduated from The Oxford School of Drama in 2015, and has since played a lead role in feature film Fanny Lye Deliver’d, opposite Maxine Peake and Charles Dance, set to be released next year. She has also just finished filming a lead role in a new drama for Sky One called Delicious, opposite Dawn French.

The Season 3 Plot: The story picks up right after Claire (Caitriona Balfe) travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948. Now pregnant, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank (Tobias Menzies).

Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire. As the years pass, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire attempt to make a life apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love. The budding possibility that Claire can return to Jamie in the past breathes new hope into Claire’s heart… as well as new doubt.

Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery, and adventure await them on the path to reunion. And the question remains: when they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?

‘Designated Survivor’ Season 1 Episode 6 Recap and Review

Designated Survivor star Kiefer Sutherland

“We all want the same thing, to rebuild our country,” says President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) to an assembly of the country’s governors attending a fancy D.C. gala in the hopes of putting Congress back in place minutes before shots are fired outside in ABC’s political thriller, Designated Survivor.

Agent Ritter (LaMonica Garrett) is on his way home when he hears about the shots and goes looking for and finds the shooter. He puts the shooter down but not before he gets wounded and has to be sent to the hospital. It turns out the shooter has links to Al-Sakar and is attacking the government that took the terrorist leader and is holding him in an undisclosed location.

The next day, things get even more complicated when a plane full of vetted Syrian refugees are not allowed off the aircraft, which has already landed in Miami. The state’s governor is extremely concerned that any of the passengers could be a possible threat. Kirkman tries to reason with the governor but to no avail.

Things go from difficult to stop-dead-in-your-tracks mode when, during Kirkman’s meeting with the country’s governor, a group of them demand to know exactly what he stands for. If he doesn’t answer their questions in enough detail, they will block his attempt to create a congress. Aaron (Adan Canto) and Emily (Italia Ricci) talk to the President in private, and neither are fans of his giving into the governors. Aaron even reminds Kirkman that he doesn’t answer to the governors, but Tom is willing to give it a shot if it means he can get the elections started for congress. Needless to say, it’s a disaster. All of the governors but one who has known Kirkman from years ago basically question if a low-level cabinet member who was picked to be the Designated Survivor is really qualified to be the Commander in Chief. Upset and touching upon Kirkman’s own doubts and fears, he responds, “Maybe you’re right. Maybe I shouldn’t be president,” and then he quickly exits the room.

Aaron and Seth (Kal Penn), who has been flirting with a journalist who just became part of the White House press corps, go after Kirkman. Aaron gives him the pep talk he needs to go back and deal with the power-seeking governors. So, back into the lion’s den Kirkman goes, delivering a second, shorter speech about how he’s the man whose job it is to unite the country and lead America forward. If they don’t support him, history will not be kind to them. After some head-shaking and grumbles, the governors agree to get on board but with the condition that he will put a freeze on any immigration for the time being until their citizens feel safe again.

Meanwhile, at the FBI Agent Wells (Maggie Q) and her boss are getting ready to interrogate the terrorist leader to find out if he was really behind the attack on the capital. During the questioning, Wells tells Nassar she doesn’t think he planned the attack at all and that she knows his group takes credit for attacks they haven’t taken part in. Nassar keeps insisting that his group DID attack the capital and will not stop. This goes on and on and on until finally, Wells threatens to transfer Nassar to Pakistan along with his secret family who won’t do so well there. It seems his mother is being treated for diabetes and the medical plan for family members of terrorists wanted by the Pakistan government isn’t very good. Nassar breaks and gives up the name of the man who actually planned the attack and told Nassar and his group to take credit for it. He reveals the mastermind is named Catalan. Once back at FBI headquarters, Wells and her boss run the name through a secure database and find nothing.

Back at the White House, Kirkman makes the deal to secure getting the elections underway to recreate congress. This causes a fight between him and his wife, Alex (Natascha McElhone), who’s an immigration lawyer and has been working to get the passengers off the plane in Miami. Tom tells her the refugees are not going back to Syria but to Canada and will still be free. Alex doesn’t want to hear it because all she can see is that it’s no longer she and him against the world and that being president is changing them. “I’m not mad at the president. I’m disappointed in my husband,” says Alex as she leaves the room.

Seth is approached by the new lovely reporter in the press room, and he decides to ask out. She doesn’t hesitate to use the opportunity to tell him a source has told her that Tom Kirkman is not Leo’s biological father, asking for confirmation. Seth just looks shocked and doesn’t respond. (Nice poker face, Mr. Press Secretary.)

Wells and her partner are headed back to talk to Nassar again when they hear a commotion. When they arrive at his cell, they find the guards looking over his dead body. It appears Nassar committed suicide. (Sure he did.)

Review of Designated Survivor Episode 6:

Since its debut back in September, Designated Survivor has become one of the best new series on television. The series has produced one great episode after another, that is until episode six. Every series has a weak episode here and there, and that’s exactly what episode 6 titled “The Interrogation” is – extremely weak. With poor writing, forced speeches and pep talks, and a boring non-crisis for the First Lady to deal with, it feels as though episode six was nothing more than a filler.

Having Sutherland’s character Kirkman waver and become willing to subject himself to the governors’ kangaroo court at this stage just doesn’t make sense. He has already dealt with one insubordinate governor and has the two surviving cabinet members backing him, as well as the success of capturing the terrorist leader Nassar. It’s not believable that the governors would make the demands the way they did in this episode, especially since all Kirkman would have to do is hold a press conference revealing the individual governors who are holding up the country moving forward in putting together a new congress for their own personnel agendas. Their careers would be over. Every series has a forgettable episode and that’s really what this one is.

With the FBI losing their only lead and Congressman MacLeish getting closer to becoming the Vice President, it should be very interesting to see how much longer Agent Wells and her boss wait to bring Kirkman into the loop about their suspicions of MacLeish being in on the attack on the capital.

‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Episode 9 Recap: Add Roasted Fans to the Body Count

American Horror Story Season 6 Episode 9

With just one episode left in FX’s American Horror Story season six, the identity of the My Roanoke Nightmare player who survived the show’s second season was finally revealed. However, before we could find out who made it out of the house alive, the AHS writers spent a considerable amount of the ninth episode skewering social media-obsessed millennials. The inclusion of My Roanoke Nightmare fans was an unexpected twist that added yet another surreal layer to what’s been one of the show’s strongest and most entertaining seasons thus far.

Season six episode nine opens with three friends hiking through the woods in search of the Roanoke house after watching season one. Their goal: to take photos of the house during the blood moon. They’re discussing their love for season one and what drew them in when they spot the tree from episode three. They also spot a woman, bloody and limping, and chase after her. The injured woman is Sid’s assistant, Diana, who crashed her car after Pig Man attacked her from the back seat while she was driving. The My Roanoke Nightmare fans discover the car with Diana dead inside. They’re freaked out after realizing they chased a ghost.

Lee (Adina Porter) and Audrey (Sarah Paulson) find out that Dylan (Wes Bentley), the actor who played one of The Butcher’s sons in season one, had been waiting in the hotel but when he didn’t hear anything from the producers, he reported to the set as scheduled. He was hired to play the Pig Man this season and has no idea what’s going on. Unfortunately, he Ubered to the house so they can’t escape in his car. Dylan was told not to bring his phone to the house, so calling for help isn’t an option either.

Audrey tries to explain everyone is dead including the producer, Sidney, and after seeing the bodies Dylan finally understands the seriousness of the situation. He thinks they need to make a stretcher for Lee and leave now before it gets dark, but Lee thinks it’s too far to the road. Dylan served two tours of duty and believes he can handle carrying a stretcher to the road, however Lee and Audrey explain they need to go to the Polk farm first and look for Monet. Dylan agrees as he doesn’t want to leave a man behind and asks them to stay at the house for their own safety, but they convince him they know the way and the layout of the house.

My Roanoke Nightmare fans Todd (Jacob Artist), Milo (Jon Bass), and Sophie (Taissa Farmiga) are questioned at the police station and it turns out they run a fan site for the series. In a flashback, we see their reactions to having seen the ghost and watch Todd as he attempts to come to terms with the whole ghost thing. Sophie reminds him the video will go viral, so it will all be worth it in the end.

Todd, Milo, and Sophie try to convince the police they saw Diana’s ghost and that she was already dead when they got to the car. However, it turns out when the police got to the car Diana’s body was missing. The detective doing the interviews is pissed and thinks this is all a big prank because these three aren’t the only ones who’ve been in the woods wanting to check out the Roanoke house. Todd reminds the detective Diana is on the footage they shot, but he blows that off. The detective warns them to never go near the house again or they’ll be arrested for trespassing.

Lee, Audrey, and Dylan make it to the Polk farm, but it’s getting late and they want to be out of there before the moon rises. Dylan’s going to get the Polk’s truck while Lee and Audrey quickly check out the buildings for Monet. Lee tells Audrey she’ll grab the tapes, and Audrey says that if the truck starts and Lee’s not there, they’ll leave without her.

Lee, confident she can get the tapes and make it back to the truck, races into the barn where she was held. Audrey grabs a gun from the building where she was tied up and finds Monet (Angela Bassett) hiding there, and fortunately she’s in pretty good shape physically. They hear the truck start and are about to run out when one of the Polks arrives. Audrey tapes him while he threatens to slowly murder them and satisfied she won’t be charged with murder, she shoots him in the head. Audrey and Monet run outside to find the other surviving Polk has stabbed Dylan and is hightailing it out of there after spotting The Butcher’s people approaching with torches.

Audrey and Monet run all the way back to the house and Audrey asks the question we all want the answer to, “Why the hell did we come back here?” Monet doesn’t think they had any choice and at least the house offers some protection. Audrey points out Dylan was in the military and he was killed, so how are they supposed to survive?

Audrey thinks Lee is probably dead but Monet isn’t so sure. Audrey makes her case for a dead Lee by pointing out Lee would never have left the tape behind if she was alive since it’s the only way to prove their innocence. Audrey has it and will use it to show they did what they had to to survive. Monet grabs the camera and plays the tape which shows them cutting pieces off Lee as well as Lee’s confession that she killed her husband. As they listen to the tape, we see Lee crawling through the woods with a pig close by. Someone flashes by the camera, the pig disappears, and then Lee’s given the pig’s heart to eat – and she doesn’t resist.

The three My Roanoke Nightmare fans are back out in the woods at night, and the blood moon is high in the sky above them. They’re excited their video of the ghost has gone viral after being up just an hour, and they’re trending on Twitter. They head back to the house, walking by the spot where Mason was burned alive in season one. They spot Lee in the woods and when Todd tells her he’s a huge fan, she kills him. Milo and Sophie run off, screaming. They stop and fall to the ground, unable to process the fact Lee just murdered Todd. Looking up, they see wooden stick figures hanging in the trees over their heads. They take off running again and come upon the production trailer with dead bodies still outside. When they see a man emerge from the trees, bloody, they lock themselves in the trailer. They think the guy is Ambrose, an actor from season one, and then they notice all the monitors. They see Shelby’s dead and then spot Audrey in the bedroom. Now totally confused, they don’t know if this is part of the show or reality. They remember Todd is dead so it must be real.

Meanwhile, inside the house Monet needs a drink while outside Lee is slowly approaching the front door, coming for Audrey and Monet.

Milo and Sophie call the police but the cops don’t believe them. They watch as Lee enters the house, and Sophie thinks they can make it back there and stop her. Milo is against going to the house, but Sophie says they have to save Monet and Audrey. They carefully step outside, looking for Ambrose. They don’t spot him but they do see the blood moon is still overhead.

Monet and Audrey are drinking and trying to figure out what to do. Audrey’s still sure Lee is dead and then they hear a noise downstairs. They quietly move toward the bedroom door and spot Lee in the hallway, staring up at the moon. They don’t realize she’s changed, even when she tells them their “vile presence” defiles the sacred ground. Monet threatens her with telling the cops she’s a murderer and Lee, who’s not Lee anymore, pushes Monet over the railing. Monet lands on the ground floor impaled on a piece of wood but not yet dead. Lee turns her attention to Audrey, but Audrey fights back. Audrey manages to briefly escape and runs down the stairs with Lee hot on her heels. Audrey stumbles, grabs a piece of wood, stabs Lee, and runs out the front door.

Sophie and Milo make their way toward the house, with Sophie videoing their journey and talking about what they’ve seen. She says people are dead everywhere, the police won’t listen, and they’re on the way to help Audrey and Monet. Milo thinks they’re lost and wants to turn around but then they spot the house.

Lee races from the house and starts to climb down the stairs into the cellar. Lee catches up with her before she begins to descend, stabs her in the neck, and kicks her backward down the stairs.

Milo and Sophie see Lee outside and then they spot The Butcher and her followers approaching the house. The Butcher slices Dylan’s stomach open and pulls out his intestines. Milo and Sophie are about to make a run for it, but Lee is standing right in front of them.

The next footage is presented after this warning:

“What you are about to see was recovered from the iCloud account registered to Todd Allan Connors. It is presented in its raw form. The images are graphic, violent and deeply disturbing. Sensitive viewers should refrain from watching.”

Milo and Sophie are captured and brought before The Butcher. Lee tells them to present themselves for slaughter. They beg for their lives and are thrown to the ground. Milo and Sophie are then placed on spikes and burned alive.

Police cars race to the house the next day and the officers find Milo and Sophie still on the spikes, still smoldering and unrecognizable. Inside the house they discover Monet on the stake at the base of the stairs. They call in multiple casualties and request the coroner. Then they find Lee still alive but unable to stand. She begs for them to get her out of this hellhole. They help her to the police car and then spot Audrey crawling out of the cellar. She asks if they’re real and then Lee leaves the car and says, “Audrey? Thank god.” Audrey stares at her and yells, “You! You f**king murderer!” She grabs the cop’s gun who was helping her walk and before she can shoot Lee, she’s gunned down by officers. Audrey is dead and Lee’s back in the car. The police believe Audrey was the killer, radioing the shooting in as “suspect down.”
