ER‘s Eriq La Salle directs and Big Little Lies‘ James Tupper guest stars on CBS’s FBI season seven episode seven, “Monumental.” Written by Matthew S. Partney, episode seven will air on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT.
Missy Peregrym stars as Special Agent Maggie Bell, Zeeko Zaki plays Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, Jeremy Sisto is Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, and Alana De La Garza is Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille. John Boyd plays Special Agent Stuart Scola and Lisette Olivera plays Syd.
“Monumental” Plot: After a park ranger is shot dead by a masked assailant on Governors Island, the team discovers a string of connected crimes that leads them to their toughest roadblock yet: an online conspiracy theory community.
FBI is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect, and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI.
Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille, who operates under intense pressure and has undeniable command authority. The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. Special Agent Stuart Scola is an Ivy League-educated Wall Streeter-turned-FBI agent. These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime and counterintelligence.

The Agency has entered Showtime’s record books as the most streamed new series in the network’s history, earning it an early season two renewal order. The espionage thriller racked up 5.1 million viewers after its November 29, 2024 premiere, with new episodes of the 10-episode season arriving on Fridays.
Season one stars Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Richard Gere. The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Reza Brojerdi.
“The success of The Agency is proof that our new SHOWTIME® slate is poised to propel Paramount+ to its next phase of growth,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, SHOWTIME® & MTV Entertainment Studios. “This achievement is a testament to the creative power of the team led by George Clooney, Jez Butterworth, Joe Wright, and David Glasser and our incredible cast including Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Jeffrey Wright.”
Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville guest star in season one. Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, Bilal Hasna, David Harewood, Kurt Egyiawan, Ray BLK, Sabrina Wu, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor appear in recurring roles.
“A fresh take on the critically acclaimed hit French drama Le Bureau des Legendes, the espionage thriller follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage,” reads Showtime’s synopsis.
Fassbender, Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari executive produce. Additional executive producers include George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Alex Berger, Ashley Stern, and Pascal Breton. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth serve as writers and executive producers, with Joe Wright executive producing and directing the first two episodes.
AMC’s released a new short teaser for the upcoming second season of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. The 45-second video doesn’t give much away (it is a teaser, so that’s a given) but does show that Rowan is ready for a fight.
The season two cast is led by Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Fielding, Jack Huston as Lasher, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve, Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, and Alyssa Jirrels as Moira Mayfair. Ben Feldman, Ted Levine, and Thora Birch also star.
“Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches, season two of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair (Daddario) after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher (Huston),” reads AMC’s synopsis. “She is determined to understand what he has become – human or monster? – and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she must put aside her own desires and fight to protect her family.”
The new season premieres on Sunday, January 5, 2025 on AMC and AMC+. Esta Spalding guides the series as showrunner and executive produces along with Mark Johnson, Tom Williams, Michelle Ashford, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
CBS’s half-hour comedy Poppa’s House is bringing in another Wayans. The network confirmed Marlon Wayans will appear as a season one guest star when the series returns from its winter break in 2025.
Per CBS: “Marlon will play Poppa’s brother Melvin, a bit of a ne’er do well who comes to visit the family with a new business idea. Poppa is quick to warn everyone not to trust him, while Ivy (Essence Atkins) and Junior want to believe he’s changed.”
Poppa’s House stars Damon Wayans, Marlon’s brother, in the titular role. Marlon’s nephew Damon Wayans Jr. stars as Junior.
“Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., features Wayans as legendary talk radio host and happily divorced ‘Poppa’ who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband,” reads CBS’s synopsis.
The series premiered on October 21, 2024 and will return with new episodes on January 27, 2025.
Marlon Wayans recent credits include Bel-Air, Air, and Respect. Wayans recently completed work on Him, a sports thriller directed by Justin Tipping. He’s currently writing and producing the next entry in the popular Scary Movie franchise along with his brothers Keenen Ivory Wayans and Shawn Wayans and Rick Alvarez.

Netflix has finally set a premiere date for season two of The Recruit starring Noah Centineo. Season one premiered way back in December 2022. Season two has landed on a January 30, 2025 launch date.
In addition to Noah Centineo, season two will star Teo Yoo, Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, and Kristian Bruun. Kaylah Zander, Maddie Hasson, Angel Parker and Vondie Curtis-Hall also star, along with Young-Ah Kim, Felix Solis, James Purefoy, Do Hyun Shin, Sanghee Lee, and Omar Maskati. Rounding out the ensemble are Brooke Smith, Devika Bhise, Alana Hawley Purvis, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Jesse Collin, and Nathan Fillion.
“Season two of The Recruit finds CIA Lawyer, Owen Hendricks (Centineo), pulled into a life-threatening espionage situation in South Korea, only to realize that the bigger threat just might be coming from inside the Agency,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
Alexi Hawley created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Centineo, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, David Bartis, Adam Ciralsky, Charlie Ebersol, and Julian Holmes. Holmes, Hawley, Jessica Yu, Viet Nguyen, and John Hyams directed season two episodes.
“Owen rolls into this season basically screwed. Owen knows that if he does not walk away with a win this season, his career is going to be over. He might go to prison,” said Hawley. “Depending on what people are into, they can show up this season for the big, flashy, splashy action stuff, but they can also be on a journey with this guy who’s just trying to fix something that he broke.”
Commenting on the new season, Centineo said, “Owen’s headspace is complete chaos. He has just witnessed Max — the former CIA asset whom he almost died multiple times trying to protect — get shot by her daughter Nichka. Owen is wondering how in the hell he is going to survive the next few seconds of his life.”

NBC’s lineup of artists confirmed to perform on the season 26 finale of The Voice includes Kelly Clarkson, Dan + Shay, and Tears For Fears. Myles Smith, Riley Green & Ella Langley, season 24 winner Huntley, and season 25 winner Asher HaVon will also perform during the Tuesday, December 10, 2024 episode, airing at 9pm ET/PT.
Plus, The Voice season 26 finale will feature the television premiere of mega mentor Sting and Coach Snoop Dogg’s “Another Part of Me.” Produced by Dr. Dre, “Another Part of Me” is from Snoop’s upcoming album Missionary dropping on December 13th.
The season finale week kicks off on Monday, December 9th at 8pm ET/PT with a special two-hour episode. Coach Michael Bublé and playoff advisor Carly Pearce will perform their duet “Maybe This Christmas.” Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani will also duet with their final artists.
NBC released the following details on each of the guest artists’ performance:
Season 25 winner Asher HaVon will take to the stage with his new song “Thank You,” which is out now and dedicated to Coach Reba. “Thank You” beautifully encapsulates Asher’s deep sense of appreciation and gratitude he feels toward Reba for her mentorship last season. It’s a heartfelt tribute that reflects not just his Voice journey but also the bond he and Reba created along the way, from the early stages of the competition to the winning moment.
Three-time Grammy Award and reigning ACM, CMT and PCCA winners and season 25 Coaches Dan + Shay are proud to return to The Voice having just released their very first collection of holiday songs, It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album. Earning more than 450 million streams on holiday singles alone already, this 21-track collection includes their gold-certified hits, “Take Me Home for Christmas” and “Pick Out a Christmas Tree,” plus many more soon-to-be classics. In the 12+ years since they formed, Dan + Shay have become global superstars amassing nearly 13 billion streams globally, 139 worldwide career multi-platinum, platinum, and gold sales certifications to date, including 60 US RIAA and 79 international awards.
Team Niall’s season 24 winner Huntley returns to The Voice stage to perform his new single, “Skyline Drive,” a love song to his home state of Virginia. The high-energy track showcases Huntley’s blistering vocal range and marks the follow-up to his recent single, “Tell Me When It’s Over,” Huntley’s first original song released since winning the show a year ago.
Global superstar and Voice coach Kelly Clarkson will perform her new holiday single, “You for Christmas,” co-produced by internationally renowned artist/producer Mark Ronson. “You for Christmas” marks the latest original release from Clarkson since her Grammy-nominated 10th studio album, 2023’s chemistry.
UK singer-songwriter Myles Smith will perform his 2024 breakout hit, “Stargazing,” which has spent 28 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with a current position and peak of #20. “Stargazing” has garnered more than 750 million streams globally and is certified platinum. The song just hit #1 at the Top 40 and Hot AC radio charts. Smith is the first UK artist to hit #1 at the Top 40, Hot AC and Alternative formats with his debut radio single in the US. He is embarking on his North American “We Were Never Strangers” Tour in 2025 in addition to touring with Ed Sheeran on his 2025 “Mathematics European” run. Smith was announced as BBC Introducing’s 2024 Artist of the Year in addition to being a nominee for the BRIT Awards’ 2025 Rising Star Award.
Multi-platinum country music star Riley Green will take to The Voice stage for the first time to perform his hit song “Don’t Mind If I Do,” with breakthrough country maverick Ella Langley, off his recent third studio album of the same name. Green and Langley both took home their first CMA win last month for Musical Event of the Year.
Iconic British duo Tears For Fears will perform a medley of their iconic award-winning song “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and their new track, “The Girl That I Call Home,” which appears on the band’s recently released first-ever live album Songs For A Nervous Planet.
Olly Sholotan as Carlton and Jabari Banks as Will in ‘Bel-Air’ (Photo by: Greg Gayne/PEACOCK)
Peacock’s officially renewed Bel-Air for a fourth season, which, unfortunately for fans, will be the series’ final season. The 10-episode third season premiered in August 2024. Peacock’s announcement didn’t confirm when the fourth season is expected to debut.
The drama stars Jabari Banks as Will, Adrian Holmes as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks, Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks, and Coco Jones as Hilary Banks. Akira Akbar plays Ashley Banks, Jimmy Akingbola plays Geoffrey, Jordan L. Jones is Jazz, and Simone Joy Jones is Lisa.
The Fresh Prince‘s Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, Vernee Watson-Johnson, and Daphne Maxwell Reid have appeared as guest stars. Bianca Belair, Bill Bellamy, Justin Cornwell, Andra Day, Melissa De Sousa, Nicholas Duvernay, and Dulé Hill have also popped in over the first three seasons.
“Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Bel-Air reimagines the iconic culture-defining ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air through a new, dramatic take on Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air,” reads Peacock’s synopsis. “In season three, school’s out for the summer, and Will is doing Bel-Air his way. Being a part of the Banks family has given him a new perspective – it isn’t just about wealth, it means that Will now has options to lean into other things that excite him and has the privilege to dream bigger. As Will makes an exciting pivot, he finds a partner in Carlton, who desperately wants to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his damaged reputation.
And while the dynamic duo has a lot of exciting wins, working together also reveals fundamental differences in their backgrounds and worldviews. Can a partnership of such extremes work? Pressure at work and home will also pose challenges for Viv and Phil. How does a couple hold strong when their lives are at sea? Hilary’s romantic journey with LaMarcus will face some shocking hurdles, and Ashley’s views on romance will start to blossom as she comes of age the summer before she starts high school, and Geoffrey’s London past will come a little too close to home.”
Carla Banks Waddles guides the series as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Morgan Cooper, Will Smith, Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Miguel Melendez, Benny Medina, Quincy Jones, and Andy & Susan Borowitz.
Alessandro Nivola and Adrien Brody in ‘The Brutalist’ (Photo Credit: A24)
The oldest film critics group in the U.S. named The Brutalist as the best film of 2024. The New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) winners were announced on December 3, 2024, with the pool of award-winners coming from independent films rather than the major studios.
“The NYFCC is proud of the exciting slate of winners selected this year and we look forward to honoring them all at our annual gala in January,” said NYFCC Chair David Sims of The Atlantic.
Last year, the NYFCC voted Killers of the Flower Moon as Best Film and Christopher Nolan as Best Director for Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer went on to win Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr), Original Score, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing Oscars.
Potential ticket buyers are sounding off in Disney’s Snow White trailer comments section, and for once it appears they’re solidly on the side of the Evil Queen. The nearly three-minute trailer provides the first real look at the seven dwarfs interacting with Snow White (the comments aren’t kind) and also features a snippet from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul’s new song, “Waiting on a Wish.”
The live-action version of the classic fairy tale stars Rachel Zegler (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) as the titular character. Gal Gadot plays the Evil Queen who goes to extreme lengths to claim the “fairest of them all” title.
Disney offered this description of the live-action adaptation: “Disney’s Snow White is a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.”
Disney’s set a March 21, 2025 theatrical premiere.
