NBC hasn’t announced the stars who will be part of the three hour live Red Nose Day special, however the network has announced the 12 charities that will benefit from the fundraising event airing on May 21, 2015. Boys & Girls Clubs of America, charity: water, Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Gavi The Vaccine Alliance, the Global Fund, Lift, National Council of La Raza, National Urban League, Oxfam America, Save the Children, and United Way will receive much-needed financial support as the result of NBC’s first-ever Red Nose Day U.S. special.

Red Nose Day was created by writer/director Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Bridget Jones’s Diary) and has raised over $1 billion in the UK since its first telecast back in 1985. “For many years I’ve dreamt of bringing Red Nose Day to the U.S., and I’m so excited that we’ve teamed up with NBC, who will do such a brilliant job on this,” said Curtis who will be involved in the US special as an executive producer. “Experience has taught me how extraordinarily compassionate and generous Americans can be, and I’ve lived my life in awe of American comedy talent. So putting those two things together will, I hope, create an amazing event that will make a massive difference to the lives of millions of children and their families in the U.S. and in the poorest countries around the world.”

“It is a distinct honor to have our Red Nose Day efforts aimed toward assisting these exceptionally worthwhile charities,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programing, NBC Entertainment. “Our goal is to create an extraordinary broadcast that is entertaining while inspiring a level of goodwill and giving that will dramatically change the lives of those with the most immediate need.”

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Season 2 Episode 13 Recap – “One of Us”

Agents of SHIELD season 2 episode 13 recap

Secrets were revealed and lines were drawn in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s season two episode 13 titled “One of Us.” Here’s the scoop on everything that transpired in the March 17, 2015 episode, in case you missed any key details:

On Coney Island, a woman with metal hands is eating. There’s a knock at her door. It’s Calvin Zabo (Kyle MacLachlan) who has shown up looking for her, Karla Faye Gideon (Drea de Matteo). He explains he and his team, Francis Noche (Geo Corvera) and Wendell Levi (Ric Sarabia), are not from SHIELD. They’re tracking down people listed on SHIELD’s “gifted” index. He tells her he wants to free her, but she slams the door in his face. She reconsiders and lets them in. They remove her metal gloves. (She has metal fingernails!) Cal tells her how SHIELD is vulnerable right now and that they can team up to take SHIELD down.

On the plane, Skye (Chloe Bennet) and Coulson (Clark Gregg) are eating together. He tells her that they’re putting her on the gifted index. When Skye starts listing all the horrible things that have happened, Coulson tells her it’s not her fault. She tells him she’s getting control of her powers and that she can go back out in the field soon.

Coulson and May (Ming-Na Wen) talk about how Skye has no idea she can’t return to the field. Coulson asks May to contact Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) to evaluate Skye.

Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) are in the lab. Simmons is busy trying to “index” Skye. Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) pops in, and Simmons doesn’t respond. Bobbi asks her how long she’s going to be cold to him. Bobbi says that he was just trying to protect Skye. Simmons says that Fitz should have trusted her. Meanwhile, Bobbi gets a secret message.

At a safe house, Mack (Henry Simmons) is holding Hunter (Nick Blood) prisoner. Bobbi tells Mack over the phone that she’ll send an extraction team soon.

On a school campus, Dr. Garner is talking to a student about psychology. He spots May waiting for him. She tells him that SHIELD needs his help. In Dr. Garner’s office, he tells May he’s reluctant to help them, but May tells him that SHIELD is different now. He tells her his terms if she wants his help. She agrees. They talk a little more, and we find out they’re divorced.

At the gate of a psychiatric institution called Brynmore, Cal and his team take out a guard and break in.

Coulson welcomes Dr. Garner, but he gets a call that there’s been a break-in at Brynmore. He and Bobbi take off to investigate. He questions her about Hunter’s disappearance, but she deflects him and says “permanent” isn’t Hunter’s thing.

In the lab, Simmons is filling in Dr. Garner on Skye. Fitz is amazed to find out that May was married.

May is visiting Skye in her cell, telling her that Skye will be evaluated. When Skye resists, May piques Skye’s interest by telling her that she used to be married to him.

In her cell, Skye stalls Dr. Garner, but he cuts through her tricks. He asks her why she shot herself. She explains that she did it to protect everyone. He confronts her with the idea that she’s afraid she won’t be an agent anymore. He warms her up by telling her a little about his wedding to May, and she gives in and starts talking.

Coulson and Bobbi are investigating the break-in at Brynmore. They see Cal on the security video and realize they need to get into the sublevel basement. They head in and get ambushed by a prisoner, but Bobbi takes him down. Coulson explains that there’s another one missing, one who can take down people with the slightest whisper. Meanwhile, we see that Cal has taken his team to Wisconsin to wait for SHIELD to come to them.

In the SHIELD kitchen, Garner and May are drinking. They’re catching up and verbally sparring.

Fitz walks into the lab, saying he’s using the microwave there because he doesn’t want to interrupt May and her ex. Simmons asks him about what they were saying. Fitz tells her that May was laughing and the two of them are chatting about the couple when Skye’s alarm goes off. Everything is shaking.

In Skye’s cell, she’s sleeping, having a nightmare. They break in and wake her to stop the quaking. Dr. Garner sends everyone away and stays with Skye.

Bobbi and Coulson are still trying to track Cal and his team down. Meanwhile, we see that Bobbi sent an encrypted message without Coulson’s knowledge.

In a restaurant, we see Cal and his team at breakfast. Karla says maybe they should forget about SHIELD and move on. Cal reminds her what SHIELD has taken away from all of them. He tells her that he wants to get Skye back, but when he gets too angry, he breaks his mug. He tells her he’s made himself strong through chemistry but has “volatility” issues.

On the plane, Coulson confronts Bobbi about her relationship with Hunter. She tells Coulson that she broke it off with Hunter, and that’s why he left. She says Mack went to look for him. Just then, Coulson figures out where Cal is, and Bobbi’s license plate scanner picks up Cal’s license plate in Wisconsin. Coulson says Cal is drawing them to Wisconsin because that’s where Coulson was born.

In Skye’s cell, she’s showing Garner how she can control her feelings. But he tells her she’s just pushing them aside. He asks her what she was dreaming about. She gets defensive and dodges his question. He continually points out her tricks to avoid the truth, that she can’t escape the fact that she’s different now. He tells her that she needs to face what’s going on. She tells him about her dream and how it was about becoming SHIELD’s target.

When everything starts shaking, Skye tells him she’s not the one shaking everything. The plane took off. May tells Garner that they’re leaving because Coulson needs backup.

Cal and his team remove David Angar’s (Jeff Daniel Phillips) muzzle. (He’s known as the Screamer.) They send him out onto a high school football field while they put on headphones. Angar opens his jaws larger than anyone should be able to and roars. Every person on the field goes down.

At the safe house, Mack checks on Hunter, who’s trying to escape. Mack tries to talk to him, but Hunter’s having none of it. Hunter questions Mack about what’s going on, but Mack is silent.

Back on the plane, Garner is angry with May for taking off with him on the plane and without telling him. She tells him to stay in Skye’s cell with her. But Skye appears behind May. She tries to argue that she can help, but Garner and May say she can’t control herself. However, Skye tells them that they can use her against Cal.

Bobbi and Coulson show up at the football field. Cal comes over the p.a. system. Cal taunts them, but Coulson tells Bobbi they should wait for backup. After Cal points out the kids scattered all over the field, Coulson walks out and gives himself up. He sees what Cal and his team have done. Cal tells Coulson that he wants the world to know what SHIELD has done to them all, but May arrives with Skye at gunpoint. She tells Cal that it’s up to him whether or not they put her down.

Cal tries to talk to Skye, but May keeps threatening to kill her. He knows May won’t kill Skye. He hands a microphone to Screamer. Just as he’s ready to roar and take everyone down, a blue force field appears around Cal. The Reader (Jamie Harris) appears and takes Cal away. Karla yells for them to end this. Coulson goes after Screamer and takes him down. Garner runs with Skye. May goes after Francis, the strong man. Bobbi goes after Karla. Skye is watching the fighting, getting upset. Just as everyone’s going down, Skye starts making everything quake. She pulls it all in, but hurts herself in the process.

Back in her cell, Skye wakes up. She’s bruised and her hands are broken. Garner explains that she wasn’t stopping her powers, but directing them inward.

In Coulson’s office, Simmons is telling him that calling all of these people gifted is too broad and that they need further classifications for the levels of powers, they have. Some are man-made, and some have powers within. He tells her they need to understand how to stop these innate powers, but that she needs to keep her investigations a secret.

May is walking Garner out of headquarters. He is recommending that Skye leaves SHIELD because it’s too much for her. May says she should stay because they’re as close to a family as Skye has. Garner tells her that he’s done counseling Skye, and he’s done with SHIELD.

At the safe house, Mack puts a hood over Hunter’s head and removes him. Then we see Hunter with armed guards. Mack tells him that he and Bobbi work for another organization, the “real” SHIELD.

Cal is in a room where he’s clearly destroyed the furniture. He asks why the Reader didn’t take Daisy (Skye) instead of him. The Reader tells Cal that he was making too much noise and that he’s just a science experiment. Reader tells him that Cal’s fate is up to someone else. Cal puts on his jacket and walks out to meet his fate.

Syfy and Asylum have unveiled the official title for the third Sharknado film. You’ll recall Sharknado 2 earned the title of Sharknado 2: The Second One after fans of the campy flying shark films submitted suggestions. And Sharknado 3 will now be known as Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! because, as Syfy’s Senior VP of Program Strategy Chris Regina explains, they wanted the title to go where no shark movie has gone before.

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! embraces the larger-than-life irreverence that has made these movies so popular and entertaining,” said Regina.

“The sharks and tornadoes get all the glory, but we would like to thank our long-time marketing guru Mike DiGrazia who first suggested ‘Oh hell no!’ A dedicated fan of the genre, Mike created the tag lines for 1 and 2 – ‘Enough Said!’ and ‘Shark Happens’ – as well as the Sharknado posters, including the original, which was a viral sensation on its own,” added David Michael Latt, Producer, The Asylum.

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! will debut on Syfy on July 22, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. The network also revealed the movie will air on all Syfy channels worldwide within 24 hours of its US premiere.

The Plot:

Sharknado 3 will cause mass destruction in Washington, D.C. before roaring down the Eastern Seaboard and into Florida, and stars Ian Ziering as Fin, Tara Reid as April and Cassie Scerbo as Nova. Joining them will be David Hasselhoff as Fin’s father, Gil; Bo Derek will play April’s mother, May; Ryan Newman will play April and Fin’s daughter, Claudia Shepard, and Jack Griffo will portray Claudia’s friend, Billy.

Additional cameo roles include Mark Cuban as the President of the United States; Ann Coulter as the Vice President; Michele Bachmann as herself; Jerry Springer as Mr. White, a manic tourist; Washington Redskins tackle Tom Compton as a reporter; *NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick as a pool lifeguard, and Chris Jericho, who will portray Bruce the roller coaster ride operator.

‘The Flash’ “Out of Time” Episode Recap

The Flash Season 1 Episode 15 Recap - Out of Time
Liam McIntyre as Mark Mardon in ‘The Flash’ (Photo: Diyah Pera © 2015 The CW Network, LLC. All rights reserved.)

Spoilers ahead as we look back on the twist-filled 15th episode of The Flash season one titled “Out of Time” which premiered on March 17, 2015. Definitely do not read on unless you’ve already watched the episode.

One Year Ago…

We flashback to the barn we saw in the pilot episode during the shoot out between Clyde Mardon (Chad Rook) and Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin). The Mardon brothers are flying away when the particle accelerator explodes and the blast hits them mid-air. Their plane explodes and comes apart.

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and his date, Linda Park (Malese Jow), are at the bowling alley. They run into Iris West (Candice Patton) and Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett). Iris invites Barry and Linda to bowl with them, and they reluctantly agree. Iris makes a few moves that make Linda (and Eddie) jealous, unbeknown to Barry.

At the morgue, Mark Mardon (SpartacusLiam McIntyre) interrupts the coroner during an autopsy. Mardon says he’s looking for whoever killed his brother. He attacks the coroner with hail using his weather-controlling abilities.

At S.T.A.R. Labs, Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) are watching a Buster Keaton movie. When Dr. Wells asks Cisco why he isn’t spending time with his family, Cisco confesses that his life has been better since he stopped seeing them. Then they get a signal that the silent alarm at the city morgue has been tripped.

At the bowling alley, Eddie also gets a call about the morgue and leaves. Barry takes off, too, which leaves Iris and Linda to awkwardly say goodbye.

The Flash races to the morgue, but along the way, he sees what looks like another Flash running alongside him. He finds the coroner dead.

Later, Joe and the police are going over the crime scene. After Barry slams into the chief (knocking his drink all over him), he and Joe realize there’s water all over the floor. Barry figures out that, based on the bruises on the coroner’s body, and the water on the floor, he was killed by hail. Then Eddie plays back the tape recording the coroner was using and they hear Mark Mardon’s voice. They also hear the coroner tell Mardon that Joe killed his brother.

At S.T.A.R. Labs, the team talks about the Mardon brothers. Cisco explains his plan for controlling Mardon’s powers. After Joe leaves, Barry tells Dr. Wells how he saw another Flash running beside him on the way to the morgue. Dr. Wells assures him they’ll look into it later.

At the police station, Joe pleads his case to Captain David Singh (Patrick Sabongui) why he should be out tracking Mardon, while the Captain tells him that he’ll be coordinating it from the office. When Iris walks in, Joe tells Eddie and Barry to keep quiet about his being targeted by Mardon. Eddie walks away, giving Iris the cold shoulder. Iris talks to Eddie, and he tells her that he doesn’t like how he feels like an outsider when Barry’s around.

In Joe’s car, Barry asks him about being Mardon’s target. When Joe shrugs him off, Barry asks him what he should do about Iris. Meanwhile, rain starts pouring and a storm starts rolling in. Pretty soon hail starts hitting the car and they realize Mardon is right behind them. Barry gets Joe out of the car just as Mardon strikes and the car explodes.

At the station, the Captain tells Joe he can’t go out in the field anymore. When Joe resists, Barry reminds him that his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs can help keep him safe.

At the newspaper, reporter Mason Bridge (Roger Howarth) shows Iris pictures that he thinks prove Dr. Wells is behind the disappearance of Simon Stagg (William Sadler). He leaves Iris with a file full of information about Harrison Wells. She runs into Linda and apologizes for interrupting her date with Barry. Linda confronts Iris about her feelings for Barry, but Iris denies it.

At CC Jitters, Iris asks Barry about Dr. Wells. She shows him the picture of Wells at Stagg’s office the night he went missing. Barry assures Iris that Dr. Wells is a good man.

At S.T.A.R. Labs, Cisco shows the team his device for controlling Mardon. After Dr. Wells commends Cisco on his work, he excuses himself from the room. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) asks Barry if he’s okay because he seems “off.” He tells them that Iris and Mason Bridge think something is going on with Dr. Wells. When the group breaks, the camera lingers on Cisco looking thoughtful.

At the station, Cisco asks Joe about why he thought Dr. Wells was responsible for Barry’s mom’s murder. Joe dismisses him, but as Cisco leaves, he spies Mardon getting off the elevator. He calls Barry just as Mardon announces his presence to Joe.

Mardon and Joe face off. Joe tries to go for Cisco’s device, but Mardon blows him back. Mardon starts a storm in the station, shooting the Captain with lightning. The Flash arrives and uses the device to absorb all the energy from Mardon. Mardon leaves, but the Captain is down. The Flash races away with him.

At S.T.A.R. Labs, Caitlin is leaving but Cisco is preoccupied. He asks Caitlin if she thinks there’s anything going on with Dr. Wells. Cisco shows her how there are things that don’t add up when it comes to the Reverse Flash and Dr. Wells. Finally, he asks her to keep Dr. Wells out of S.T.A.R. Labs the next day.

At the hospital, Barry, Joe and the Captain’s fiancee are waiting for news. The doctor tells them the Captain may never walk again. Joe, incensed, leaves to go after Mardon, after making Barry swear not to leave Iris’s side and keep her safe.

At the newspaper, Barry is looking for Iris. Mason tells him that she left to go and find her dad. Mason tries to convince Barry that Dr. Wells killed Simon Stagg. He hints that he’s got evidence that will come out in the Sunday paper.

At the lab, Cisco is running tests on the containment system that failed to hold the Reverse Flash.

At a rundown apartment building, Joe is looking for Mardon. He finds Eddie, who says Joe shouldn’t be there without a partner.

At Joe’s house, Barry finds Iris, who’s trying to call her father. Barry tells her how Mason has proof that Dr. Wells did something, but Iris doesn’t know what the proof is. Iris tells Barry that she doesn’t think Linda is the right woman for him, but she doesn’t answer when he asks her who is.

At the lab, Cisco finds something that doesn’t make sense, but then he spots the Reverse Flash in the containment system.

At the apartment building, Joe and Eddie are still searching for Mardon. They find his apartment, but Joe gets blown out of the window.

Joe wakes up on the pier, handcuffed, bloody and with a broken leg. Mardon continues to threaten Joe.

At the coffee house, Penny is stalling Dr. Wells with conversation and coffee.

At the station, Eddie is briefing the officers. Barry assures Iris that her father will be okay. Just then, Iris gets a call from Mardon, telling her to come to the waterfront without telling the police. She tells Barry. Just as they’re leaving to go to Joe, Linda shows up, but Barry tells her he has to leave for an emergency.

At the coffee shop, Caitlin is still trying to stall Dr. Wells. He gives her an idea for trying to find Mardon, but it looks like he’s suspicious of her. She walks to the counter to ask for coffee to go, but when she turns around, she sees Dr. Wells’ wheelchair — and it’s empty!

Back at the lab, Cisco realizes that what he’s seeing in the containment system is a fake Reverse Flash. Just then, Dr. Wells arrives — on his own two feet!

At the waterfront, Mardon sees Barry and Iris getting closer. Joe begs him to spare her.

At the lab, Cisco confronts Dr. Wells. Dr. Wells says his real name is Eobard Thawne, a distant relative of Eddie’s. Wells/Thawne shows Cisco how he can create a speed mirage that makes it appear that there are more than one of him. Cisco realizes that Wells/Thawne killed Barry’s mom. Wells/Thawne confesses that he was there to kill Barry, and that killing his mother was a mistake. He tells Cisco that he’s been grooming Barry to go faster so that Barry can time travel and get him back to his own world, to his time. Wells/Thawne tells Cisco that he’s grown very fond of Cisco, that he’s like a son. While Cisco has tears in his eyes because he knows what’s coming, Wells/Thawne apologizes, saying he’s had hundreds of years to get used to Cisco not being around, and then he kills him.

At the waterfront, Barry begs Iris to run, but she tells him that she’s not leaving because she can’t stop thinking about him, and they kiss. (And I mean KISS.) Meanwhile, Mardon is bringing a tsunami toward the city. Barry calls Caitlin, who tells him that in order to stop the wave, he has to run back and forth in front of it to sap its energy. Barry tells Iris, “I didn’t want you to find out this way,” and becomes the Flash. He tells her to go, and she does. He runs back and forth along the beach, going faster and faster, until he bursts through time, suddenly going back to a scene from the beginning of the episode. Time travel!
