Actor/writer/producer Brit Marling and writer/director Zal Batmanglij are reuniting on a new drama series coming to Netflix. Netflix just greenlit The OA, and Marling is set to star in the eight-episode season one, debuting sometime next year.

Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The East) will direct and is co-writing the series with Marling.

Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are executive producing The OA with Marling, Batmanglij, and Anonymous Content’s Michael Sugar. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Netflix and Plan B to help bring to fruition Brit and Zal’s extraordinary vision,” said Sugar.

“We are thrilled to be the home of the first television series Brit and Zal create together,” said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix. “Whether in front of or behind the camera, or both, their creative voice is always uniquely captivating.”

Marling’s writing credits include Sound of My Voice, Another Earth, and The East. She’s also been busy in front of the camera starring in those films as well as The Company You Keep, I Origins, The Keeping Room, and Babylon.

The comedy series Bella and The Bulldogs and The Thundermans have been renewed for additional seasons by Nickelodeon. Bella and the Bulldogs starring Brec Bassinger will be back for season two, and The Thundermans with Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo will return for season three. The renewals come as no surprise as Bella and the Bulldogs is the network’s number one show with an average of two million viewers, and The Thundermans has earned the #1 spot in its time period among kids.

“Both of these live-action comedies have connected with our audiences, and we are thrilled to add new seasons of both of them,” Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon’s President of Content Development and Production. “We’re hearing from kids all the time about how much they admire Bella and her can-do spirit, and The Thundermans just continues to make kids laugh, which is great.”

Bella and The Bulldogs season two plot: “Faced with much bigger challenges in season two, Bella and the Bulldogs team must push to overcome obstacles and work together to be the winning combination they once were. Bella (Bassinger) will unite her original team, Troy (Coy Stewart), Sawyer (Jackie Radinsky) and Newt (Buddy Handleson), in an attempt to take them farther than than they’ve ever gone, all while keeping close ties with her two best friends from the cheer squad, Pepper (Haley Tju) and Sophie (Lilimar).”

The Thundermans season three plot: “In season three of The Thundermans, superhero twins Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) and Max (Jack Griffo) confront a new family dynamic that changes their lives forever and face being exposed after someone close to them learns their secret identities. The series continues to follow the opposite siblings as they navigate their way through school, friends and a family of extraordinary superheroes.”

‘Outlander’ New Posters Show a Fierce Claire Facing Down Black Jack Randall

New Outlander Season 1 Posters for the Show's Second Half

We’re a month away from Outlander‘s return for the second half of season one and Starz has just unveiled two gorgeous new posters promoting the upcoming eight new episodes. The original poster for the series based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling books had Claire (Caitriona Balfe) desperately reaching over her shoulder to try and take her husband Frank’s hand while Jamie (Sam Heughan) stood in front of her offering her his.

The new posters show Claire is no longer lost and afraid and instead is ready to stand up for herself against Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). With one hand, she brandishes a knife in Black Jack’s direction and with the other, she reaches back toward Jamie who is now standing much closer than he was in the first poster for the series.

The new posters reflect the change in relationship between Claire and Jamie and offer a glimpse at how they’ll approach any potential enemies as a committed married couple in the second half of the season.

Starz released the new posters along with details on where the posters were shot, revealing Jason Bell was the photographer for this pair of darker posters. Bell placed the three lead actors in the same locations where the official poster released at the start of Outlander‘s first season was shot.

The second half of season one debuts on April 4, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on Starz.

The Plot: “Outlander spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure as it follows Claire Randall, a married WWII combat nurse who mistakenly falls back in time to 1743. As the season continues, Claire and Jamie’s relationship is tested and Claire must reconcile her modern mindset with this 18th century world. Ruthless redcoats, volatile clan politics, and a brutal witch trial force Jamie and Claire to escape to a new home. Just when their life as a married couple begins to take shape, Jamie is once again drawn into Captain Randall’s darkness. Ultimately, Claire discovers there is a fate worse than death as she struggles to save Jamie’s heart, as well as his soul.”
