There’s a shift in format and an addition to the key members of The Voice staff. NBC’s mixed things up a bit and brought in Chris Martin (from Coldplay) to play the role of ‘key adviser.’ Martin was tasked with mentoring all of the artists remaining on each of the four teams – Team Blake, Team Adam, Team Shakira, and Team Usher – during The Battles: Round Two.

According to NBC’s announcement, Martin mentored the performers on their “vocal techniques, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their persona and strengths.” Meanwhile, the team members will continue to strive to impress their coaches and to remain in the competition in order to make it to the Playoff Rounds.

The Battles: Round Two kick off on Monday, March 31st and will feature every artist on a team (including the new team members added via ‘the steal’) against each other as they perform an agreed-upon song.

The Voice live shows start on April 21 with the top 12 artists competing for votes.

Mike Vogel, Katharine McPhee and JoBeth Williams Star in In My Dreams

Mike Vogel (Under the Dome, Bates Motel), Katharine McPhee (Smash), and JoBeth Williams star in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie In My Dreams coming to the ABC TV Network on April 20, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT. Directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun, Steel Magnolias), the cast also includes Joe Massingill, Rachel Skarsten, Antonio Cupo, and Jessalyn Wanlim.

The Plot: Nick (Vogel) and Natalie (McPhee) are the perfect couple, but there are a couple of things blocking their path to romantic bliss. First, they’ve never actually met, except in their dreams. Second, they have precisely seven days to turn those sweet dreams into a blissful reality.

“There’s an old wives’ tale involving the Hayward Fountain in our mythical town,” said Vogel, describing how Nick and Natalie meet. “If you make a wish, then toss a coin in the fountain, you’ll meet the man or woman of your dreams, and you’ll have the most fantastic dreams for seven nights. But if the dream couple haven’t actually met in the real world before that time limit expires – well, it’s all over. So it’s really a race against time.”

In My Dreams star Vogel also revealed it was the mother and son dynamic that initially drew him to the film. “Nick’s Mom is a meddler, but she’s not mean-spirited. Her heart’s in the right place. She means well, she really does. She just can’t help herself!”

Go ahead and chuckle away…but that’s the title. Will Ferrell and Kevin Hardy really are teaming up for a comedy movie and it really is called Get Hard. The comedy marks screenwriter Etan Cohen’s (Tropic Thunder) first film as director and he worked on the script along with Jay Martel and Ian Roberts. Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy are producing and Kevin Messick and Ravi Mehta are on board as executive producers.

The cast of Get Hard also includes Craig T. Nelson, Alison Brie, and Tip “T.I.” Harris.

Filming is currently underway in New Orleans. Warner Bros Pictures is eyeing a March 27, 2015 theatrical release.

Desperate, he turns to Darnell Lewis (Hart) to prep him for a life behind bars. But despite James’ one-percenter assumptions, Darnell is a hard-working small business owner who has never received a parking ticket, let alone been to prison. Together, the two men do whatever it takes for James to ‘get hard’ and, in the process, discover how wrong they were about a lot of things – including each other.

Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton are Cool Vampires in ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’

Sony Pictures Classics is offering a new look at the R-rated sexy vampire film Only Lovers Left Alive with a new poster, trailer, and photos featuring the film’s stars Tilda Swinton as Eve and Tom Hiddleston as Adam, “devastatingly cool vampires,” as well as the launch of a new website. Directed by Jim Jarmusch, Only Lovers Left Alive premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and is currently sitting at an 84% positive rating on RottenTomatoes.

The Irish Times’ critic suggests, “See it and try to think ‘vampire’ in the future without conjuring Tom and Tilda,” while the Daily Telegraph says, “The best reason to see this film is Swinton and Hiddleston’s achingly sexy double-act as two old, cold souls in still-hot bodies, steadfastly keeping the spark alive even as the world around them slowly snuffs itself out.”

The rest of us must wait to find out what the fuss is about until April 11th when it arrives in limited release.

The Plot:

Set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier, an underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover.

Their love story has already endured several centuries at least, but their debauched idyll is soon disrupted by her wild and uncontrollable younger sister. Can these wise but fragile outsiders continue to survive as the modern world collapses around them?

Check out 18 photos from Only Lovers Left Alive featuring Tom Hiddleston, Tilda Swinton, Mia Wasikowska, and Anton Yelchin

Disney Confirms When the New Star Wars Film Will Be Set

Star Wars Episode VII News
(Photo © Lucasfilm)
In a galaxy far, far away…or, actually, just in Portland, Oregon, Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed the bare minimum new news on the upcoming Star Wars film. Iger, speaking at the annual shareholder meeting, said that Star Wars: Episode VII will begin shooting at London’s Pinewood Studios in May, 2014. Iger also confirmed the rumors that the new Star Wars movie will take place 30 years after the end of Return of the Jedi.

According to Iger, Star Wars: Episode VII will involve three new young leads along with “some familiar faces.” Unfortunately, the only cast member Iger was willing to confirm was R2-D2. Iger wouldn’t even commit to confirming Adam Driver (Girls) has been cast as the main villain.

With filming set to begin in just a few months, we can expect to hear confirmation on the principal cast soon. It’s long been rumored that Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill would be showing up in the new Star Wars film, but co-writers J.J. Abrams (who is also directing) and Lawrence Kasdan aren’t letting any secrets out just yet.

Disney and Lucasfilm are aiming for a December 18, 2015 theatrical release.
