‘The Walking Dead’ Debuts a Midseason 4 Poster

The Walking Dead Midseason 4 Poster

Oh sure, go ahead and tease us with a new poster for The Walking Dead‘s season four midseason return. AMC’s critically acclaimed series doesn’t return with new episodes until Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, but at least we have an idea that the second half of the season will find Carl (Chandler Riggs) and his dad, Rick (Andrew Lincoln), walking away – most likely from the now-destroyed prison – with the tagline “Don’t Look Back.”

How long will they be on their own? What’s happening with the rest of the survivors? And where is Daryl? Inquiring minds need to know the answers to these questions!

Rose gets protective when Mia confronts Lissa Dragomir while she’s dancing with Christian in this new clip from the vampire action movie, Vampire Academy. Based on the first book in Richelle Mead’s bestselling series, Vampire Academy was directed by Mark Waters and stars Zoey Deutch as Rose, Lucy Fry as Lissa, Danila Kozlovsky as Dimitri, Sami Gayle as Mia, and Dominic Sherwood as Christian.

The Weinstein Company will release Vampire Academy in theaters on February 14, 2013.

The Plot:

Vampire Academy tells the legend of Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir, two 17-year-old girls who attend a hidden boarding school for Moroi (mortal, peaceful Vampires) and Dhampirs (half-vampire/half-human guardians). Rose, a rebellious Guardian-in-training and her best friend, Lissa – a royal vampire Princess – have been on the run when they are captured and returned to St.Vladamirs Academy, the very place where they believe their lives may be in most jeopardy.

Thrust back into the perils of Moroi Society and high school, Lissa struggles to reclaim her status while Rose trains with her mentor and love interest, Dimitri, to guarantee her place as Lissa’s guardian. Rose will sacrifice everything to protect Lissa from those who intend to exploit her from within the Academy walls and the Strigoi (immortal, evil vampires) who hunt her kind from outside its sanctuary.

Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio to Receive Cinema Vanguard Award

Filmmaker Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio will be the recipients of the Cinema Vanguard Award at the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Frequent collaborators, Scorsese and DiCaprio’s recent project – The Wolf of Wall Street – is easily their most controversial film to date. The movie’s dividing audiences as to whether it glamorizes former stockbrocker Jordan Belfort’s criminal behavior while minimizing the impact his criminal actions had on his victims.

The 2014 Santa Barbara Film Festival runs January 30th through February 9th. The awards presentation will take place on February 6, 2014 at Arlington Theatre.

“Scorsese and DiCaprio’s partnership has become a legendary cinematic pas de deux recalling other great collaborations like John Ford and John Wayne, Fellini and Mastroianni, John Huston and Bogart – and even Scorsese and De Niro,” said SBIFF Executive Director Roger Durling.

Per the official announcement, the Cinema Vanguard Award “was created in recognition of those who have forged his/her own path, taking artistic risks and making a significant and unique contribution to film.”

Past honorees include Amy Adams, Jean Dujardin & Bérénice Bejo, Nicole Kidman, Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Stanley Tucci, Christoph Waltz, Kristin Scott Thomas and Ryan Gosling.

Bruce Springsteen’s New Album Featured on The Good Wife

Bruce Springsteen High HopesBruce Springsteen’s High Hopes – his 18th studio release – is coming to stores on January 14, 2014, however prior to the official release tracks from the album will be featured on the January 12th episode of The Good Wife. The album will also get a sneak preview after the show’s January 5th episode and will stream on CBS.com/Springsteen from Jan. 5 through Jan. 13.

High Hopes, featuring the E Street Band and guitarist Tom Morello, was recorded in LA, New Jersey, Atlanta, New York City, and Australia.

The Good Wife‘s January 12th episode will include High Hopes‘ title track as well as “Hunter of Invisible Game” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad.” The episode titled “We, the Juries” offers up this synopsis: Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Will (Josh Charles) each represent one-half of a couple accused of smuggling drugs, but the courtroom becomes mired in confusion and legal technicalities when they insist on separate juries for each client.

“We love using music in The Good Wife, and we always have the music inform the action and the cutting,” said Robert King and Michelle King, executive producers and creators of The Good Wife. “So when the Bruce Springsteen songs became available, we couldn’t believe our luck. We wished we could use the whole album.”
