The docudrama Boston’s Finest has been given a second season pickup by TNT. The network also announced CNN will run encore episodes of season one of the series from executive producers Donnie Wahlberg, Seth Jarrett, and Julie Insogna-Jarrett.

Boston’s Finest averaged 1.3 million viewers over its first season, and TNT has ordered up six new episodes for the second season. Season two will premiere in early 2014.

Boston’s Finest Plot: Unlike many unscripted series about law enforcement, Boston’s Finest follows the fearless actions of the entire Boston Police Department, including patrol officers, detectives, special task forces and members of the SWAT Team, the Fugitive Unit, and highly decorated Gang Unit. In addition to following the officers while they are on duty, Boston’s Finest provides a glimpse into their personal lives when they are off the clock and living in the same neighborhoods they protect each day.

During the first season of Boston’s Finest, viewers got to know officers like Jenn Penton, who joined the force after a military stint in Afghanistan and whose twin sister has been battling addiction; Diamantino “D” Araujo and Manny Canuto, who grew up together as best friends in Roxbury and now partner together on the gang squad; and Officers Greg and Nancy Dankers, who work opposite shifts, making home life a challenge for the couple and their twin sons.

Boston’s Finest not only celebrates the bravery of officers who risk their lives every day, but also showcases the heart and soul of one of the oldest and proudest police departments in the nation.

Spotlight On: Selena Gomez’ “Come & Get It” Video

She still has such a baby face, but Selena Gomez is trying to shed her good girl image with more adult, risque material. First, we got a look at her as a college student who gets a little out of control in the R-rated Spring Breakers and now she’s released this sexy new video for “Come & Get It.”

The 20-year-old actress/singer is transforming herself in a major way, but her fans don’t seem to mind one bit.

Jimmy Fallon vs John Krasinski – A Lip-Sync Battle

John Krasinski and Jimmy Fallon
John Krasinski and Jimmy Fallon do battle on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' (Photo by: Lloyd Bishop/NBC)

Jimmy Fallon says this lip sync-off was actually John Krasinski’s idea, but it definitely seems like something Fallon would have come up with. Krasinski was visiting Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about the end of The Office, but this battle wound up being the high point of the interview.

Seriously, watching Krasinski lip-syncing to Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” is worth an investment of eight minutes of your time. And when Krasinski gets all sexy with Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love to You”…well, see for yourself.

Funny or Die: Michael Shannon Reads the Delta Gamma Letter

I don’t know why it’s taken so long for me to check this out, but have you watched the Funny or Die video of Michael Shannon reading the psycho Delta Gamma letter? If you had any doubts whatsoever about Shannon’s talent (which you shouldn’t), watch the video and all of your doubts will be put to rest.

Shannon gives a reading that makes the letter even more demented than originally written, if that’s possible.

Check it out, but definitely don’t watch it at work. This one’s strictly for adults.

First Look: ‘Gravity’ Poster Starring Sandra Bullock

Gravity Poster
Poster for 'Gravity'

So, what do you think? Warner Bros has unleashed this new poster for the sci-fi action thriller Gravity starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men) and it’s definitely not one of those posters where you are left with absolutely no clue as to what to expect from the film being advertised. The Gravity poster clearly shows the action takes place in space.

Warner Bros will release Gravity in theaters on October 4, 2013.

The Plot:

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.

But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Viva Pictures has picked up the US distribution rights to Top Cat: The Movie directed by Alberto Mar. Top Cat: The Movie was financed by Ánima Estudios and has already been released in Mexico, becoming one of the country’s most successful film productions to date.

The animated movie is based on the 1960s Hanna-Barbera cartoon series and features the voices of Jason Harris (Ice Age: Continental Drift), Chris Edgerly (Happy Feet), and Bill Lobley (Ice Age: Continental Drift). The original series aired on ABC and had a limited run of just 30 episodes. Top Cat and his friends were also seen in a comic book series from the ’70s as well as a children’s book.

“We are honored to be a part of this piece of cartoon history,” said Victor Elizalde, president of VIVA Pictures, discussing the acquisition. “I have extremely fond memories of watching with my brothers the original television show, Top Cat and am looking forward to sharing the big screen version with a new generation of U.S. audiences.”

The Plot:

Top Cat: The Movie welcomes the return of the lovable characters from the original Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Top Cat, along with his gang of city-slickin’ fast-talking friends and their alley shenanigans — Benny the Ball, Fancy Fancy, Choo Choo, Spook and Brains — have to face a new sheriff. Police Chief Strickland has the latest technology and plans to keep peace with it — his robot police force. He and his robots are raining on the alley cats’ parade and as a result, the gang is forced to ban together to make sure Strickland doesn’t cash in on one of their nine lives. Can the gang scratch their way back to freedom against the new robotic police force?
