The Netflix series Hemlock Grove features one of the most gruesome transformation scenes of a human into a werewolf from either a TV series or a feature film. Seriously disgusting but absolutely riveting, the show’s werewolf transformation sequence in this clip shows that the wolf is actually inside the human being (played by Landon Liboiron) who must then shed his skin in order to allow the wolf out.
Debuting on April 19, 2013, Hemlock Grove also stars Bill Skarsgard, Famke Janssen, Freya Tingley, Dougray Scott, and Penelope Mitchell.

The Plot:
From executive producer Eli Roth and based on Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name, Hemlock Grove is a riveting one-hour murder mystery that revolves around the residents of a former Pennsylvania steel town. When 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell is brutally murdered, any of Hemlock’s peculiar inhabitants – or killer creatures – could be suspects.
Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing nothing is what it seems. Beautiful, terrifying and graphic, Hemlock Grove is unlike anything else in its genre.

“In this world it’s kill or die, or die and kill,” says the Governor (David Morrissey) to poor Milton (Dallas Roberts). This takes place after Milton has been stabbed and left to die so he can turn into a flesh-eating zombie and feed on Andrea (Laurie Holden), who’s still strapped to a chair in the Governor’s torture chamber in the season three finale of the hit AMC cable series The Walking Dead.
The Governor’s patience and sanity are at an end as he leads his Woodbury army to the prison where Rick, Glenn, Daryl, Carl, and the rest of the group are preparing for the final battle. When the Governor and his army arrive at the prison, they begin shooting it up, killing “walkers” roaming the prison’s outer field and blowing up the towers and the main entrance to the prison. As the Governor and his amateur army work their way through the prison where Rick and the group have been staying, it seems deserted. Until, while going through the catacombs, the prison’s alarms sound and shots are fired.
Panicked and confused, the Governor’s army runs in different directions, coming into a few hungry walkers and finding themselves being fired upon by Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) dressed in prison riot gear. Terrified and being whittled down, the broken-down army flees the prison with the Governor and his loyal henchmen in close pursuit.
Meanwhile, back in the Governor’s torture chamber, Andrea is desperately trying to use her feet to pick up a pair of pliers that Milton left behind her chair in an attempt to free herself before he dies and becomes a hungry “walker” and comes after a trapped Andrea.
The Walking Dead season three “Welcome to the Tombs” brings the horror/soap opera series to a close with an impressive firefight at the prison and the demise of a main character whose story arc seemed to have run out of steam. Note: It will not be revealed here who it is.
The production value is still top-notch, with all the different “walkers” make-up and special effects and the design of the prison – as well as the town of Woodbury – being extremely authentic.
Hands down, the best and most interesting new character in the series is the Governor, played exceptionally well by David Morrissey. Physically imposing, ruthless, and brutal but also at times charming and friendly, the Governor is perhaps the most well-written character next to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus). He’s also a worthy villain who’s sure to return to the series down the road.
The performances have improved this season by the entire cast, but the finale’s best performance goes to Laurie Holden as Andrea. Not since season one, when her character put her young sister who had just become a zombie to eternal rest, has Holden shown such fear, regret, anger, and emotion so wonderfully. Here’s hoping she’s remembered come Emmy nominating time.
This episode is a strong close to season three, which, to be honest, started out great with action and intense drama but had become slow, boring, and predictable by midseason. Only in the last three episodes has the show seemed to have gotten back on track to being a very dark, intense, and at times surprising horror/soap opera series. Here’s looking forward to season four in October when Rick, Daryl, Hershel (Scott Wilson), and the rest of the group (including a handful of newcomers) take on more flesh-eating zombies and whatever else threatens their safety.

The actor who plays Finn Hudson on the Fox series has voluntarily checked into rehab for help with substance addiction problems. This trip to rehab marks Monteith’s second stint in a treatment facility. The 30 year old Monteith also sought help for his problems when he was 19.
And while Gleeks were immediately worried this could spark the end of Monteith as a member of the cast, 20th Century Fox representatives issued a statement supporting Monteith in his determination to heal. “Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”
In addition to Glee, Monteith’s credits include Monte Carlo, The Invisible, and Final Destination 3.

The HBO movie was directed by Stephen Soderbergh and stars Douglas, Damon, Dan Aykroyd, Debbie Reynolds, Scott Bakula, and Paul Reiser.

Captain Kirk (William Shatner) takes on the giant lizard creature once again for the launch of Star Trek: The Video Game on April 23, 2013. The first epic battle of studly man versus weird-looking lizard thing was originally seen way back in 1967. Now, the two former rivals meet again 40 years after they first went hand-to-claw on a desert planet in Star Trek, however, this time the situation’s a bit friendlier.
Watch the original Kirk vs Gorn fight:
“What better way to spotlight the adventure and fun everyone can have actually playing as Capt. Kirk in the new game, than to team up the legendary former captain himself to play one of his old foes,” stated LeeAnne Stables, President of Consumer Products at Paramount Pictures, the studio releasing the game. “Mr. Shatner is such a great sport and that Gorn had absolutely no chance of coming out on top this time.”
In the new promotional video, the two are comfortably seated on a couch playing the new Star Trek game. When Shatner gives Gorn a friendly punch in the arm, the game is forgotten and the old foes are ready to go at it again. But fortunately, this time around, pillows replace rocks.
Says Shatner after shooting the new video: “It never ceases to amaze me how many people still ask me about that scene. It’s 46 years later, and he hasn’t aged as well as I have.”
Details on Star Trek: The Video Game:
Star Trek: The Video Game features a vastly updated version of the Gorn as the key foe to legendary duo Kirk and Spock. Players take on the roles of Kirk and Spock, who work together to get to the heart of a mysterious attack by an enemy with unimaginable strength – a re-imagined version of the Gorn. In an entirely original story, written by BAFTA award winner Marianne Krawczyk, the Gorn is a terrifying threat, with an army that could overwhelm Kirk, Spock and the crew of the Enterprise.
The March 28, 2013 season three finale of Raising Hope sent the series off on hiatus on a high note, taking every opportunity possible to insert a musical number. After Burt (Garret Dillahunt) is told he’s Jewish by his mom and dad (Shirley Jones and Lee Majors), he sets out on a quest to find out exactly what that means. And what better place to kick off his journey of discovery than in a deli.
The Plot:
Burt’s parents come to town with the surprising news that he actually is Jewish. So Burt takes a musical crash course in his newfound heritage to prepare for the Bar Mitzvah he never had. Then, it’s a Mother’s Day to remember as Burt and Barney take a road trip to Maw Maw’s childhood home and discover that her mother may still be alive.
Writer/director Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine), Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, and Eva Mendes talk about making The Place Beyond the Pines in this featurette for the independent drama. In the new video, the cast and filmmaker talk about the story and the characters.

The Plot:
Luke (Ryan Gosling) is in constant motion, a high-wire motorcycle stunt performer who travels from town to town with the carnival. Passing through Schenectady in upstate New York, he tries to reconnect with a former lover, Romina (Eva Mendes), only to learn that she has in his absence given birth to their son Jason. Luke resolves to forsake life on the road and to provide for his newfound family, taking a job as a car mechanic with Robin (Ben Mendelsohn).
Robin soon discovers Luke’s special talents and proposes to partner with him in a string of spectacular bank robberies. But it is only a matter of time before Luke will run up against the law — which comes in the form of Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper).
Avery is an ambitious rookie cop navigating a local police department ruled by the menacingly corrupt detective Deluca (Ray Liotta). When Avery, just beginning to balance his profession and his family life with wife Jennifer (Rose Byrne) and their infant son AJ, confronts Luke, the full consequences will reverberate into the next generation. It is then that the two sons, Jason (Dane DeHaan) and AJ (Emory Cohen), must face their fateful, shared legacy.
