Jane Lynch Will Host Hollywood Game Night

Hayes came up with the idea for the show based on his real-life “game nights.” The series will feature celebrities “enjoying themselves in a cocktail party environment.”
Announcing Lynch’s involvement Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC stated: “With Jane Lynch on board as our host, we now have a key component in place that will further enliven the sheer fun of a raucous Hollywood party that will include real everyday people. Her exuberant wit and ability to think quickly will be the perfect match for our show which will give viewers a fresh look inside the off-set lives of their favorite celebrities — and allow them a chance to win money as well.”
“I’m so thrilled to let the world in on the fun with Sean at ‘Game Night’!” said Lynch. “The format is sure to provide a lot of unexpected results that will keep everyone off-balance and entertained.”
The Details:
Hollywood Game Night brings both players and viewers into the exclusive world of Hollywood royalty as celebrities gather for a fun, pop-culture based game night. The mood is lively, playful, and spontaneous — with flowing drinks, passed hors d’oeuvres and a live house band.
At the end, one of the two contestants will walk away with a cash prize and a night of stories and memories for friends and family back home. Featuring well-known names from the world of television, film, sports and politics, among other entities, this isn’t a typical game show — it’s a peek behind the curtain of the Hollywood scene and a chance to hang out for a night with a group of your favorite celebrities.

‘Once Upon a Time’s Getting a Mad Hatter Spin-Off?

Deadline’s reporting ABC’s popular fairy tale drama Once Upon a Time could be launching a spin-off. According to the report, the powers-that-be at ABC are considering giving the Mad Hatter character his own show.
If this idea does move forward, it would be without the actor who has already played the role in Once Upon a Time. Sebastian Stan has other commitments, including a return to the world of superheroes with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and apparently would not be available to handle the duties of a spin-off series.
Is it a good idea? Do we really need more of the Mad Hatter? ABC bigwigs think it’s a definite possibility that audiences would answer yes to both those questions. After ABC locates a new actor to take over the role, they could have the Mad Hatter return to the series to see if he’s still as popular with audiences as he was in the first go-around. Deadline also says it’s a possibility the network will film a “short presentation with the character” to determine if a spin-off might catch on.

Jack Nicholson, Kristen Stewart Added to 2013 Oscar Presenter List

Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have added a batch of big-name presenters to the 2013 Academy Awards. Jack Nicholson and Dustin Hoffman have committed to being a part of the 85th Academy Awards, with producers Meron and Zadan explaining why they wanted to snag the Oscar-winning actors for the show.
“Between the two of them, Jack Nicholson and Dustin Hoffman have created more iconic characters than any other pair of actors in the world. Their participation in this year’s Oscars completes a list of presenters and performers that truly represents that great breadth and depth of acting talent in film today.”
Also just announced to take part in Hollywood’s biggest night are Jane Fonda, Jennifer Garner, Kristen Stewart, and Kerry Washington. They join a list that includes Jennifer Aniston, Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx, Paul Rudd, Salma Hayek Pinault, Melissa McCarthy, Liam Neeson, John Travolta, Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Mark Wahlberg, Ted, Robert Downey Jr., and Samuel L. Jackson.
In addition, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer, Octavia Spencer, Meryl Streep, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, Renée Zellweger, and Catherine Zeta-Jones are confirmed to take the Oscars stage. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum, and Charlize Theron are listed as ‘special guests.’
Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Hudson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Aaron Tveit, Helena Bonham, Adele, Dame Shirley Bassey, Norah Jones, and Barbra Streisand will all perform musical numbers.
The 2013 Oscars will take place on Sunday, February 24th in Hollywood.
2013 Oscar Predictions – Who Should Win and Who Will

By Kevin Finnerty
This is the big weekend in Hollywood when all the stars will be coming out to walk the red carpet, say and wave hi to the fans, and see who will go home with Oscar. The 85th Annual Academy Awards are this Sunday night with first time host Seth MacFarlane, so it’s time for my predictions of who should walk off with Oscar and who will.
BEST PICTURE:
The Nominees:
Amour
Argo
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Django Unchained
Les Miserables
Life of Pi
Lincoln
Silver Linings Playbook
Zero Dark Thirty
WHO SHOULD WIN: ARGO
WHO WILL WIN: ARGO
Hands down the best picture of the year, Argo is way out in the lead for obtaining the Oscar. With the film’s stellar direction, great writing, and wonderful performances, and the fact it tops almost every critics’ Top 10 list of 2012, Argo is the sure bet to go home with Oscar.
BEST ACTOR:
The Nominees:
Bradley Cooper – Silver Linings Playbook
Daniel Day Lewis – Lincoln
Hugh Jackman – Les Miserables
Joaquin Phoenix – The Master
Denzel Washington – Flight
WHO SHOULD WIN: DANIEL DAY-LEWIS
WHO WILL WIN: DANIEL DAY-LEWIS
Considered by most to be the best actor of his generation, Daniel Day-Lewis gave yet another outstanding performance as President Lincoln struggling to obtain the votes he needs to abolish slavery forever in America. It’s a sure lock for Day-Lewis and Oscar.
BEST ACTRESS:
The Nominees:
Jessica Chastain – Zero Dark Thirty
Jennifer Lawrence – Silver Linings Playbook
Emmanuelle Riva – Amour
Quvenzhane Wallis – Beasts of the Southern Wild
Naomi Watts – The Impossible
WHO SHOULD WIN: JESSICA CHASTAIN
WHO WILL WIN: JENNIFER LAWRENCE
Even though Jennifer Lawrence seems to have the inside track for Oscar in this category for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook and will most likely walk off with it, Jessica Chastain deserves it even more for being the first and best reason to see Zero Dark Thirty. Her raw, powerful, and strong performance as the CIA agent dedicated to the capture of Osama bin Laden is mesmerizing – and the finest of her career so far.
BEST DIRECTOR:
The Nominees:
Michael Haneke – Amour
Benh Zeitlin – Beasts of the Southern Wild
Ang Lee – Life of Pi
Steven Spielberg – Lincoln
David O. Russell – Silver Linings Playbook
WHO SHOULD WIN: BEN AFFLECK
WHO WILL WIN: STEVEN SPIELBERG
It’s a crime and an insult that the Academy chose not to nominate Ben Affleck for best director. He truly deserves to be honored for such a flawless piece of filmmaking and for bringing to the screen such a riveting story. Alas, since he’s not in the running, the Oscar will go to Steven Spielberg for Lincoln. This will make the third Oscar for Spielberg, although he himself deserved many more for such films as Raiders of the Lost Ark and JAWS.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
The Nominees:
Alan Arkin – Argo
Robert De Niro – Silver Linings Playbook
Philip Seymour Hoffman – The Master
Tommy Lee Jones – Lincoln
Christoph Waltz – Django Unchained
WHO SHOULD WIN: CHRISTOPH WALTZ
WHO WILL WIN: TOMMY LEE JONES
The only reason Christoph Waltz will most likely not go home with Oscar for Django Unchained is because he just won the award for Inglourious Bastards. The Academy rarely gives an actor the same award so close together even if he’s deserving, which Waltz is. So the race falls to Tommy Lee Jones who will pull out in front with his performance in Lincoln.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
The Nominees:
Amy Adams – The Master
Sally Field – Lincoln
Anne Hathaway – Les Miserables
Helen Hunt – The Sessions
Jacki Weaver – Silver Linings Playbook
WHO SHOULD WIN: ANNE HATHAWAY
WHO WILL WIN: ANNE HATHAWAY
It simply is Anne Hathaway’s year. First with her fantastic performance as Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises and then as the tragic character Fantine in Les Miserables, there seems to be no stopping this lovely, talented young actress. Winning both the Golden Globe and SAG awards for her work in Les Mis, there is no doubt Oscar will be hers this Sunday.
