‘Banshee’ Season 1 March 2013 Episode Guide

Banshee
Antony Starr and Ivana Milicevic star in ‘Banshee’ (Photo: Fred Norris/Courtesy of Cinemax)

Unfortunately, I’ve yet to catch an episode of Banshee, however, I’ve heard from reliable sources that it’s worth checking out. For those of you who have been keeping up with the new Cinemax series, the network’s released this info on the upcoming episodes:

Banshee Season 1 March Episodes

Episode #8: “We Shall Live Forever”
Debut date: FRIDAY, MARCH 1 (10:00-10:50 p.m. ET/PT)
Other CINEMAX playdates: March 1 (11:30 p.m.), 2 (9:00 p.m., 12:30 a.m.), 4 (12:15 a.m.), 5 (12:30 a.m.), 6 (8:00 p.m.) and 20 (8:45 p.m.)
Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) urges Lucas (Antony Starr) to let go of the past, even as an increasingly suspicious Gordon (Rus Blackwell) is hell-bent on uncovering hers. Cast out of her Amish home, Rebecca (Lili Simmons) turns to her uncle, Kai (Ulrich Thomsen), for a new start in Banshee. A surprise visit from Rabbit’s lieutenant Olek (Christos Vasilopoulos), aka Widow’s Peak, brings back a flood of memories for Carrie. As his family keeps vigil for the ailing Benjamin Longshadow, Alex (Anthony Ruivivar) gets a surprise visit from his sister, Nola (Odette Annable).
Written by Jonathan Tropper; directed by Greg Yaitanes.

Episode #9: “Always the Cowboy”
Debut date: FRIDAY, MARCH 8 (10:00-10:45 p.m.)
Other CINEMAX playdates: March 8 (11:30 p.m.), 9 (9:00 p.m., 12:05 a.m.), 11 (11:35 p.m.), 12 (12:15 a.m.), 13 (8:00 p.m.) and 20 (9:35 p.m.)
As Rabbit (Ben Cross) closes in on Lucas and Carrie, she flees the hospital in a desperate attempt to collect her family and get them out of town. Kai introduces Rebecca to the business world, and sends Lucas a message about fooling around with his niece. Alex recruits one of Kai’s thugs, who has gambling issues, to deal with a work-stoppage problem at the casino.
Teleplay by Jonathan Tropper; story by Jonathan Tropper & David Schickler; directed by Miguel Sapochnik.

Episode #10: “A Mixture of Madness” (season finale)
Debut date: FRIDAY, MARCH 15 (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Recalling a series of prison therapy sessions that fueled his hatred of Rabbit, and pressured by Xavier’s (Derek Cecil) insistence that the FBI handle a kidnapping case, Lucas makes a decision that will change the fates of Carrie, her family, Sugar (Frankie Faison), Job (Hoon Lee) and the entire Banshee police force. A special delivery at Alex’s doorstep leads Nola to reconsider her future; Kai teaches Rebecca the power of telecommunications.

First Look: ‘Iron Man 3’ Iron Patriot Poster

Iron Man 3 Iron Patriot Don Cheadle Poster

Marvel debuted this very cool poster of Don Cheadle in his Iron Patriot armor from Iron Man 3 starring Robert Downey Jr., Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley. The poster doesn’t give any hints as to why Cheadle’s character is using the armor, but he does look pretty impressive in it.

Iron Man 3 hits theaters on May 3, 2013.

The Plot:

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him.

As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

‘The Last Exorcism Part 2’ Creepy Motion Poster

CBS Films’ The Last Exorcism Part 2 hits theaters on March 1, 2013 starring Ashley Bell from the first Last Exorcism and directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly. And the latest promotional items from the studio in support of the upcoming release is a freaky motion poster as well as a list of facts about exorcisms put together by Dr. Ysamur M. Flores-Pena, Associate Professor at UCLA.

The Facts:
– 42% of Americans believe in possession by the devil.
– There are dozens of references of Jesus exorcising demons in the Gospels.
– Exorcisms can be done on inanimate objects or places as well as on people. These need not be “real exorcisms” but can be “simple exorcisms” (usually thought of as baptizing the infant or “blessing” the house or place).
– By conservative estimates, there are at least five or six hundred evangelical exorcism ministries in operation today, and quite possibly two or three times this many.
– The Catholic Church has at least 10 official exorcists in the US.

The Plot: Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Bell) is found terrified and alone in rural Louisiana. Back in the relative safety of New Orleans, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family.

Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning.

‘The Notebook’ Quotes – Best Lines from the Romantic Movie

Based on the bestselling book by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook is a romantic tearjerker and probably the best movie adapted from a Sparks novel. Released on June 25, 2004, The Notebook was directed by Nick Cassavetes and stars Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, James Garner, Gena Rowlands, and James Marsden.

Here’s a sampling of some of the best and/or most memorable lines from The Notebook:

Duke [James Garner]: “It was an improbable romance. He was a country boy. She was from the city. She had the world at her feet, while he didn’t have two dimes to rub together.”

Noah [Ryan Gosling]: “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.”

Allie [Rachel McAdams] as they get ready to make love]: “You’re gonna have to talk me through this.”

Duke: “Summer romances end for all kinds of reasons. But when all is said and done, they have one thing in common: They are shooting stars – a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, a fleeting glimpse of eternity. And in a flash, they’re gone.”

Duke: “He got the notion into his head that if he restored the old house where they had come that night, Allie would find a way to come back to him. Some called it a labor of love. Others called it something else. But in fact, Noah had gone a little mad.”

Duke: “Allie was surprised how quickly she fell in love with Lon Hammond. He was handsome, smart, funny, sophisticated, and charming. He also came from old Southern money and was fabulously wealthy.”

Duke: “She had come back into his life like a sudden flame, blazing and streaming into his heart. Noah stayed up all night contemplating the certain agony he knew would be his if he were to lose her twice.”

Noah: “My Dearest Allie, I couldn’t sleep last night because I know that it’s over between us. I’m not bitter anymore because I know that what we had was real. And if, in some distant place in the future we see each other in our new lives, I’ll smile at you with joy and remember how we spent the summer beneath the trees, learning from each other and growing in love. The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that’s what you’ve given me. That’s what I hope to give to you forever. I love you. I’ll be seeing you. Noah”

Allie: “Why didn’t you write me? Why? It wasn’t over for me. I waited for you for seven years but now it’s too late.”

Noah: “I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you every day for a year.”

Allie: “You wrote me?”

Noah: “Yes. It wasn’t over; it still isn’t over.”

Lon [James Marsden]: “The way I see it, I got three choices. One, I can shoot him. Two, I can kick the crap out of him. Or three, I leave you. Well, all that’s no good, you see, because none of those options get me you.”

Noah: “It’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, every day. You and me…every day.”

Noah: “I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day.”

Noah: “You’re gonna kill me, woman! I need sleep, I need food to regain my strength!”

Duke: “I am no one special – just a common man with common thoughts. I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect, I’ve succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul, and for me, that has always been enough.”

Glee Celebrates Its 500th Musical Performance

Glee Music Season 4 Volume 1500th? Really? Wow, that hardly seems possible – but it is, according to Fox. The Glee cast will bust out in an Animal House-style celebration of the song “Shout” on the March 7, 2013 episode, marking the Glee gang’s 500th musical number.

Details on the ““Girls (And Boys) on Film” episode airing at 9:30pm: “The glee club’s latest assignment is to choose a song from a movie and the members of New Directions sing the hit series’ landmark 500th musical performance with their rendition of the Animal House anthem “Shout.” Meanwhile in New York, Santana (Naya Rivera) makes herself at home in the loft a little too quickly for Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) comfort.

Also on March 7th, American Idol will extend to a 90 minute episode in order to reveal the season 12 finalists live (on the East Coast) from Los Angeles.
