Oxygen Reveals Three New Series

Oxygen Media LogoOxygen Media announced they’re developing new shows targeting their key demographic – young women. The network’s added three new series to its schedule as well as green lit a pilot for Propos’d. The new shows – Fat Girl Revenge, Find Me My Man, and Too Young to Marry? – join the network’s brand new series The Face with Naomi Campbell and returning series Best Ink and I’m Having Their Baby.

Rod Aissa, Senior Vice President of Programming and Development for Oxygen Media, announced the new programs, stating: “By embracing these larger than life characters, these new series capture dynamic stories of determination and heart that will leave viewers feeling a range of emotions. Building upon Oxygen’s creative momentum, these authentic, ‘live out loud’ series are integral to super-serving our young female audience with more high stakes, noisy hooks and unexpected moments.”

Details on Fat Girl Revenge:

This is not another weight loss or makeover show, it’s a series about settling the score after the pounds have been shed. Each episode follows two new inspiring and unapologetic women, who were once discounted, humiliated and rejected because of their weight, as they stand up to their bullies and finally get even. After getting healthy, these former ‘fat girls’ get the chance to live out their fantasies and seek payback against their former offenders from ex-boyfriends, former classmates to even members of their own families. For those who inflicted the hurt, revenge is going to be something they never expected, but for these women, this golden opportunity for transformation and retribution will empower them to move forward from their painful past.

Details on Find Me My Man:

Formerly known as Heart & Soul, this dynamic new dating show centers on the outspoken and no-nonsense Miami matchmaker Natalie Clarice who runs a successful agency helping urban professional women fix their solo status. With her own brand of tough love and in-your-face attitude, she’s determined to crack Miami’s hardest cases and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is to her strong-willed clients, who are hesitant to change their ways. Through unique techniques, Natalie and her team of romance strategists put these stubborn single ladies to the ultimate test to find their match.

Details on Too Young To Marry?:

They might not be old enough to buy a six-pack or vote, but these couples think they are old enough to say “I do.” This drama-filled docu-series, formerly known as Teen Weddings, follows opinionated teen couples who are determined to walk down the aisle with or without the blessings of their family and friends. With parents threatening to disown them or cut them off financially, older and wiser siblings begging them not to make the biggest mistake of their lives and friends pulling them in opposite directions, these young lovers must battle it out with the haters and doubters to prove that age doesn’t matter and their love is forever.

And in Development – Propos’d:

Marriage obsessed women, who constantly push and nag their boyfriends for an engagement, finally get a taste of their own medicine in this outrageous hidden-camera series. To get back at their ring-obsessed girlfriends, mischievous, but well-meaning guys come up with insane, over-the-top and hilarious proposal stunts. The payback is all in good fun because at the end of each prank they will get down on one knee and finally pop the question.

First Photo: Pixar’s ‘Blue Umbrella’

Well, it’s not exactly the most exciting photo ever – but it does have a blue umbrella in it so there’s that.

Pixar’s showing off this very first photo from the upcoming short, Blue Umbrella, which will be released in front of Monsters University. Debuting on June 21, 2013, Blue Umbrella was directed by Saschka Unseld.

The Plot: It is just another evening commute until the rain starts to fall, and the city comes alive to the sound of dripping rain pipes, whistling awnings and gurgling gutters. And in the midst, two umbrellas — one blue, one not — fall eternally in love.

Ryan Lochte Set to Smile Through ‘What Would Ryan Lochte Do?’

And I say “smile” because thus far it hasn’t been proven that Olympic Gold medalist Ryan Lochte can act. Still, that hasn’t stopped the offers from coming in, and he’s apparently said yes to a deal with E! for a show called What Would Ryan Lochte Do?.

Per the official announcement, the docu-series will have a six-episode season premiering in April 2013. The series will follow Lochte as he prepares for the 2016 Games in Rio.

Announcing the series, E! Entertainment President Suzanne Kolb said, “Ryan Lochte captured everyone’s attention at the Summer Olympics with his athletic prowess and his utterly unique and unaffected approach to life. He is an incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining, and fun. Watching this show, I believe people will fall into three categories: they want to be him, sleep with him or mother him.”

The Details:

In answer to the show’s central question, it turns out the 28-year-old Lochte would do just about anything for love, for family, for his friends, and for the embodiment of his personal philosophy, which is summarized in his signature phrase, “Jeah!”

In What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, the self-proclaimed King of Gainesville, Florida, lives life just like he swims … all out and at top speed. He hits the local club scene frequently, and always with an eye out for the right girl, but is then up early the next morning for rigorous training with his tough-as-nails coach, Gregg Troy. He shows off his huge collection of shoes – more than 150 pairs of sneakers, including the bright green high-tops he designed that have Ryan emblazoned in the sole of one and Lochte in the other – and gives us a look at the diamond-encrusted watch he designed and that is valued at more than a quarter of a million dollars.

And peppered throughout the show are those unpredictable, unfiltered and delightfully uninhibited “Lochteisms” for which he has already become legend. For example, on his regular swimming ritual: “I always pee in the pool … doesn’t everyone?”

Lochte remains grounded with the help of a loving, outspoken family. His mother, Ike, has transitioned from being the ultimate swim mom to taking on the role of Ryan’s life coach, which includes tips on dating. His older sisters, Kristen Lochte-Keeler and Megan Lochte-Torrini are always there to counsel and tease him. His younger brother, Devon, is his best friend and roommate who looks up to Ryan. Ryan’s sweet side is fully on display for the world to see in his affectionate relationship with his young nephews.

The international hit, written by Julian Fellowes, stars Dame Maggie Smith, Elizabeth McGovern, and Hugh Bonneville, with guest star Shirley MacLaine.

On the ‘Shameless’ Set with Shanola Hampton

Take a behind the scenes tour of Showtime’s Shameless with Shanola Hampton (‘Veronica Fisher’) in this three-minute video in support of season three. Hampton reveals in this behind-the-scenes featurette that all interiors are done in Los Angeles and all exteriors are done in Chicago. Interesting.

Hampton also admits she sometimes gets lost on the set, she loves the director of the pilot (Mark Mylod), and the sex acts never ever cease to amaze her on Shameless.

Season three premieres on January 13, 2013.

Episode 1 Season 3 Details: Now that they’re living together, Fiona struggles to accept the new “boring” Jimmy. Frank wakes up in a place completely foreign to him. Lip is sentenced to community service. Baby Hymie keeps Jody and Sheila up all night.

No, We Aren’t Finished with ‘Twilight’ Quite Yet…

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Extended Edition

Just when you thought it was safe to put the sparkling vampire love story behind you, Summit Entertainment delivers the news they’ll be releasing an ‘Extended Edition’ Blu-ray and DVD on March 2, 2013. And no, it’s not the final film that’s coming out in March but instead Breaking Dawn Part 1.

Per the press release, this new The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Extended Edition will include eight brand new, never before seen minutes of footage added into the film by Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 director Bill Condon.

The new release also features audio commentary by Condon.

“As Twilight series devotees know, there was a lot of ground to cover in adapting Breaking Dawn to the screen,” stated the director. “Between the wedding, the honeymoon, the birth, and everything in between, naturally there were things that didn’t make it into our final cut. But I wanted to make sure that for all the Twihards out there, there was a chance to see some of these cut scenes – several of which are fan favorites from the book.”

‘Revolution’ Has a New Season 1 Trailer

Revolution Cast
Anna Lise Phillips as Maggie, Graham Rogers as Danny, Tim Guiee as Ben, David Lyons as Bass Monroe, Billy Burke as Miles, Tracy Spiridakos as Charlie, Andrea Roth as Rachel, Maria Howell as Grace, JD Pardo as Nate, Zak Orth as Aaron, Giancarlo Esposito as Lt. Neville in ‘Revolution’ (Photo by: Nino Munoz/NBC)

Truth be told, I’m not sold on Revolution…yet. I’ll give it another shot when it returns on March 25, 2013. However, the young female lead character (played by Tracy Spiridakos) does such dumb things I have major problems getting past her actions and paying attention to the overall story. Hopefully, the upcoming episodes will focus on the characters who are far better written.

The Plot:

What would you do without it all? In this epic adventure from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Supernatural‘s Eric Kripke, a family struggles to reunite in an American landscape where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out forever.

A drama with sweeping scope and intimate focus, — and television’s #1 new Fall series in the key demographic — Revolution is also about family — both the family you’re born into and the family you choose. This is a swashbuckling journey of hope and rebirth as seen through the eyes of one strong-willed young woman, Charlie Matheson (Spiridakos), and her brother Danny (Graham Rogers).

When Danny was kidnapped by a powerful militia for a darker purpose, Charlie tracked down her estranged Uncle Miles (Billy Burke), a former militia member himself, to help find her brother. Together, with a rogue band of survivors including Aaron (Zak Orth) and Nora (Daniella Alonso), they crossed the country, eventually rescuing Danny – as well as discovering Charlie and Danny’s presumed dead mother, Rachel Matheson (Elizabeth Mitchell), a scientist with inside knowledge of the power outage who was also being held by the militia.

Now, newly reinforced, Charlie, Miles, Aaron and Rachel set out to overthrow the militia led by the ruthless Monroe (David Lyons) and his brutal enforcer, Major Tom Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) — and ultimately strive to re-establish the United States of America. All the while, they explore the enduring mystery of why the power failed, and if — or how — it will ever be restored.
